While I'm on the subject of the cap mantle sam was captain america twice. The first time was when some right wing ppl were using steve as like a poster boy for his image and he fought against it. Eventually there was a violent protest and steve got hurt and "died" and sam decided to become cap to clear his name. That's where we get this quote:

The next time sam became cap (the one that's most well known) it was when steve lost the super serum. There was a bomb headed straight to new york and sam flew up there and stopped it. He then fell to the ground and everyone thought he was dead but he was fine bc he has vibranium wings (shoutout to tchalla). And this is where we get this panel:

So yeah. Sam was cap twice and the 2nd time steve had no hesitations with choosing him.

Because why does he still not have a romantic subplot in the mcu?

He's been in these films for over a decade now most characters get their's in their first or second appearance.

Hi!! I’m trying to get into reading the winter soldier comics after being so obsessed with the movies. Where should i start? I tried the Winter soldier series but after the first chapter it seemed like i was missing some stuff! ^^

Hello!! That's a good decision but I feel you on being lost! Because, first off, which Winter Soldier series did you even try to read? :p

My recommendations:

If you want to know the history of the Winter Soldier, then what you need is Ed Brubaker run in Captain America (2004) and good news, we're getting collections of that now! Or, shorter but kinda the retcon summary: The Life Story of Bucky Barnes.

If you want easy-to-understand stories that need no background knowledge, I can suggest a few: Second Chances (this one's kinda cute), Cut Off One Head (the most famous team-up with Sam).

I do not recommand to try reading Bucky Barnes: The Winter Soldier. It's very interesting but it's an acid trip visually speaking and it deals with background characters and in-universe facts so it's really not for "beginners".
