deity-of-calamity:
The demon blinked. Greg reminded Bill of Mabel with his energy. It was kind of cute. He brought a gloved hand to his mouth. A soft chuckle leaving his dark lips.
“You know what? I think I have. Though I didn’t get his name.” The blond wouldn’t forget that appearance anytime soon. “My name is Bill Cipher. You can call me by either name. I’m used to both. Who might you be?”
“I’m woodsman Greg! I help watch the forest and keep mean ol’ monsters from getting people lost. Oh no! Are you lost? If you’re lost Wirt and I can help you find home! We’re good at that.” Greg said rather proudly puffing his little chest. A croak sounded and a very big frog hopped out of the brush to hop up next to Greg who beamed with delight.
“There you are Skipper! Bill this is skipper Jason Funderburker, he also helps with the forest.” Greg introduced picking up the frog that was about half the child’s size and lifting him to show the demon with a delighted grin. It seemed he had forgotten he was looking for his brother and more fascinated by Bill.

deity-of-calamity:
Well he certainly couldn’t promise anything. Bill had issues with rules as it was. He was chaotic not peaceful. Not to mention his sadistic nature. The blond predicted trouble in the future. Bill decided to take a rest by a tree. Setting up a small camp. He started mixing some of the ingredients together and used his fire magic to start a fire.
“HI!” A high pitched voice cut in loudly and joyfully.
A tiny pudgy child with green overalls, dark brown hair, and wide brown eyes had rolled into the small area that Bill was in. He beamed at the demon brightly, innocent and untroubled by his tumble. He waved and got up brushing his clothes off for a moment.
“Have you seen that ol’ brother o’ mine? He’s biiiig and has a pointy hat and pointy antlers and beautiful eyes.” Greg asked stretching his arms up to indicate how tall his brother should be.

“That’s fine, just keep in mind our laws while here. No deliberately malicious harm to others and respect others as you wish to be respected. Oh, do keep out of the crop fields. The nearby mayor will have you arrested if you take anything without consulting the farmers first.” Wirt cautioned the demon.
Wirt offered a polite smile to the other and tipped his head in a short goodbye. He turned back to the forest and decided to go find his dear brother. The young human had been playing with the birds last he saw. He would surely have gotten into some sort of mischief by then.
The demon lifted up his basket to show what was inside. Bill had been gathering ingredients for his magical research. Nothing should have been sentient. The only time that would be an issue was when he hunted for souls to eat. Which might be soon…
“Is this alright?”

the changeling, pt. 3.
dialogue prompts from the changeling by victor lavalle.
i’m sorry. i didn’t mean to say that out loud.
i saw that in the news.
i had a few problems of my own to talk about, you know.
but why did you do it?
i had to take a train and a bus to get here.
we started eating without you.
you brought wine from a place that doesn’t even give out plastic bags?
i’m sorry i’m late.
you know why i always liked you? why we became friends?
you basically acted like you didn’t give a fuck.
i’ve seen that look before.
i’ll be calling you as soon as i hear.
why are you here? it’s the middle of the night.
please tell me you’re not guilting me right now.
what guilt? do you feel guilty?
i didn’t want to wake you.
let me make you something to eat.
i woke up and had the worst feeling that you had disappeared.
i didn’t know that. why didn’t you tell me?
why would i tell you? it’s just an old nightmare.
i guess i have something to tell you.
i probably kissed your head fifty times.
i never felt more relieved in all my life.
it was a memory, not a dream.
i tried my best. that’s all i could do.
i thought i was a monster. like something must be wrong with me.
how could you ever think that?
thanks for doing that. i appreciate it.
we had a drink with each other. that’s a sign of trust.
i don’t know why i taped this.
it’s a bad habit, i know.
come on. is this for real?

A Forest Meeting
@deity-of-calamity >Transferred<
Wirt was wary of this stranger in his woods. He worried about what they were doing and the odd feeling of trepidation that this man caused within him, it had his anxiety floating above the usual line social interaction caused him.
“...Just be sure that whatever you take doesn’t hold any sentience.” Wirt cautioned the stranger.

Just Razzin’ Ya
Barely even an adult by human standards. That would certainly explain things. Everything. And so Lorrie found himself unable to fault the lad. He was just a whelp, still learning the ways of his own kind. Hopefully; Fae may be elusive, but not knowing if one was nearby to keep an eye on the youngling? It made the dragon a mite concerned.
“Lakeview… A lovely place, if I may say so. From what I’ve seen, at the least.” Lorrie offered a gentle, friendly smile, taking Wirt’s hand in his. Definitely a young one; He’s met very few fae who greeted people with a proper handshake. “Ye can call me Lorrie. And, I can just tell yer dyin’ t’ know, I’m a dragon. Stormborn, if ye want to get technical.”
“O-oh wow! That’s so cool, eh-I-I mean that’s great, no I uh. It’s just my baby brother loves fairy tales and when I tell him dragons are real and I met one he’s going to be so excited.” Wirt could not help but babble an embarrassed and delighted smile on his face his eyes flashing luminously for a moment.
“Sorry, that’s rude isn’t it? It’s probably rude. I don’t get to meet anyone other than other fae for the most part so I’m not sure about rules when meeting other people...Sorry.” Wirt said a small flush to his cheeks as he wrung his hands together in embarrassment.

shoyuyaku:
A lad just coming into his powers, it seemed. Or young enough to not be able to recognize what he was. That would be very possible, too; A fae could be several centuries old, and still have trouble knowing what a dragon felt like. This one, though… He had a certain innocence that most fae lose in their first few decades.
It was interesting.
“A silly question indeed, though not in the way ye think it is,” Lorrie pointed out, teasing the boy. “I know ye can feel that I’m not human. And if I dinnae believe in the supernatural, I’d either have no memories, or be the daftest thing out there.” He chuckled, hands resting on his hips as he spoke. “Yer not that old, are ye?”
“Oh good! Hah, I thought I might have just been imagining it,” Wirt admitted with a nervous little laugh his long angular nose wrinkling a little when he laughed. “I’m only really nineteen...it’s uuuh, it’s been kinda rough learning the ropes.”
Wirt smiled a friendly and welcoming smile to the stranger. This was his first real encounter with someone supernatural outside of the Unknown and one of the few beings he had met that he just Knew was not a fae like he was. He was not sure what they were but that hardly mattered at all.
“Oh! Sorry! Where are my manners, welcome to Lakeview. I haven’t sensed you around before but if you run into any trouble then you can just call for me. Um, oh that probably doesn’t make sense does it? You can call for me with a bowl of water or like an offering of fresh fruit and the Intent to meet me. You can call me Wirt.” Wirt said stumbling a little with his words and offering his hand for a handshake.

Obviously it was something; The boy wouldn’t have approached him in the first place if it truly was ‘nothing’. Funny that someone who smelled so much like olde magick was so timid as well. Not a trait most fae would have, as Lorrie had learned over the years.
“Hey now, don’t ye think that’s a lil’ rude?” the dragon spoke up, motioning for the lad to not run off. Not yet. “Come now, you wouldnae o’ spoken up if it really was ‘nothin’. Ye should speak yer mind, laddie.” It’d be far better than leaving someone in suspense, after all.
“Oh! S-sorry! You’re right, that was rude,” Wirt babbled backtracking quickly. “Um, w-well my question is probably really silly. You can ignore me if you want, but do you believe in the supernatural?”
Wirt figured that the question was the safest option to ask. If they were human then they could just laugh it off, but if they were supernatural then he would have a more solid tell in their answer. If they were properly supernatural like him then he could properly welcome them to his domain and advise them not to break the rules. Wirt had only a few rules compared to most of the fae in the Unknown. Even his frog fae Jason Funderburker had more rules than him.

Just Razzin’ Ya
@shoyuyaku
Wirt was far from your ordinary teenager, oh he had been once upon a time, but not after taking up the mantle of Guardian. Ever since this happened he had been able to sense other beings that were more supernaturally inclined as he was. Although he did have trouble a lot of the time differentiating from his usual acute anxiety and the sense of More he got from others.
“Hey-uh hi! Um, oh gosh, uh are yooooou? Hah, this is awkward. No nevermind it’s nothing.” Wirt said retracting his greeting and his desire to curl up in a corner and never be seen again growing.
The poor teenager took a deep breath and tried to awkwardly excuse himself. Wirt was just terrible with social things and attempting to protect the humans of his town from other supernatural beings was difficult and exhausting. Wirt was at least 90% sure this person was something but he was also 1000% sure he just embarrassed himself and flubbed this whole Great Fae thing.
