An aquarium in Japan was closed for renovations, and their resident sunfish got depressed not seeing visitors. So the staff put some uniforms with printed faces against the tank, and it immediately recovered.

I'm getting the impression that Sanderson wrote Renarin autistic on purpose following a check list from an informational pamphlet, but accidentally put all the autism into Szeth really. Poster child autism vs problem autism.
Or something. Could be wrong.

Kaladin: I don't know what to do with the flute you gave me.
Wit: Hmmmm.... I don't know.... what do these strange holes do? I guess it's just a useless piece of wood.... I guess we'll never know....

Today JD Vance went to Germany a week before elections, met with the far-right AFD candidate, gave a speech where he scolded Europe for not being tolerant of Nazis, and said, “if the US can survive ten years of scolding from Greta Thunberg, you can survive a few months of Elon Musk”

Frost, I know you love the drama, but you can feel free to just win games normally sometimes. You don't need to try and engineer extra drama for spectacle.

Maybe this is a hot take but I actually don’t think Diana is that well suited to Anne. I mean (to use a tiktok phrase) they don’t match each other’s freaks at all. It’s fine since they’re so young, but it’s no wonder they drift away from each other as they get older, because Diana is just so…flat sometimes. She doesn’t provide good banter or interesting conversation. She’s not much of a match for Anne’s wit or imagination. This isn’t her fault of course!! The girls are just…on completely different wavelengths. But, thankfully, at this point in the story Anne needs a friend who will listen to her, and even just treat her as a normal person lol, and Diana is the perfect person to do this. So that’s why they’re friendship works, and why even with such different personalities, they’re still kindred spirits.

Me and my partner have been rocked by the "Christian theology is an attempt to find places where the Sermon on the Mount doesn’t apply" quote you shared the other day. It's come up so often in conversation both irl and online. However, I've been trying to find this quote to no avail. You wouldn't be willing to take a second pass and see if you can find it, would you? Please?
The exact quote is way better than my paraphrase, unsurprisingly:
"In my most cynical moments, I sometimes think that the whole structure of Christian theology seems like an elaborate ruse to escape the unambiguous obligations set forth in the Sermon on the Mount."
