Week 1: 30 - 5 Jan/Feb
We quickly decided what the layout would be - considering colour palettes and rules for each theme
And prepared fears and ads quickly for the presentation
Created a schedule
Week 2: 6 - 12 Feb
Had a talk with Helen and she suggested focusing on the question “what do you want out of this project?” - have you thought about this much?
Presentation went well - our idea was liked and we met deadlines we set up
Week 3: 13 - 19 Feb
Got good feedback and worked on it well
I wanted to start working/building ideas for the other themes but kept postponing because I couldn't think of anything
Week 4: 20 -26 Feb
I did meet the deadline for fears and ads WIP but I did very little in terms of progression
I also wanted to redo style frames but I didn't but I'm glad I didn’t waste time of that because the style frames are ultimately fine and aren't even graded and they also show how much progression I have done from initial concepts to final pieces
Week 5: 27 - 5 Feb/March
Work on timings for reactions
We were meant to finish fears and ads this week but me and the others were slightly behind but I imagine this is to be expected with most projects
Did more research - usually lack in research
I hadn’t focused on my theme much yet and I was a bit depressed so when asked I hadn’t done much
Week 6: 6 - 12 March
Finished fears - bon!!
Did some kings and queens concepts but none for transformations - at this point the concept was still quite confusing like the only way to understand it was to have actually animated examples
Everyone kept using words I wasn't familiar with - I guess I should have asked what they meant
Week 7: 13 - 19 March
Had to tweak fears
Finally got some transformation stuff done and it was a lot easier than I was expecting
Made no animatic for transformation and kings and queens tho
Week 8: 20 - 26 March
Did the animatics!! I feel they could have been better/ more interesting but for K+Qs I was drawing blanks #depression #anxiety
Week 9: 27 - 2 March/April
Made some progress with animating for transformations
Did a selection of intros for transformations
Added some details to fears and sorted out timing on ads
Enjoying transformations now
Excited for the final fears and ads
Week 10: 3 - 9 April
Worked more on transformations
Looked for farmer drama inspiration
Started intro animatics
Week 11: 10 - 16 April
Updated blogs
Animatic for farmer drama - very different from old version
Week 12: 17 - 23 April
Write out plan for Farmer drama and give it to the team - feeling more confident with the theme
Did more intro stuff and progressed on animatics for farmer drama
We decided because iI'mdoing intros im not participating in abstract mind
Week 13: 24 - 30 April
Pretty slow week in terms of actual work. It was more schedulling and preparing and fleshing out blogs
I did finish k+q and added some more details so I like it a little more than I did
Week 14: 1 - 7 May
More intro stuff
Worked and planned out much better this week making significant progress on farmer drama
Week 15: 8 -14 May
It’s funny how closer to the deadline i begin to work more efficiently because I had most of farmer drama finished by sunday - though i was quite stressed
I think the reason I felt like I had so much to do was because i had become accostumed to having an essay to hand in each project and this time around I didnt and so felt like I was missing something from my work
Week 16: 15 - 19 May
I have improved in my organisation skills but I need to be more consistant. Giving myself breaks is fine, and something I’ve always been good at, but when to know when you actually need a break and when you are just procrastinating because you are worried it will come out wrong.
Worked efficiently this week - managed to get all the video stuff finished relatively quickly
It’s not all finished - I think I could have had it finished if I had organised and been so wrapped up in my own head as I was this term.
I can see my editing skills on software like premiere and after effects are really lacking which I am upset with. I think if I had planned ahead more I would have realised how significantly they were lacking.
Tbh I think if I learn more over the next week and get on with it then I can actually improve my personal project and this collab projec for the degree show
I would’ve definately liked to have more work to show for this term.

A little late but I remembered these sketches from Mitchell and Webb Look and they are really appropriate for the theme.

Other influences were French and Saunders and their Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter parody for that type of humour, and Uptown Downstairs abbey.Â

I'm not sure if I'm exporting it wrong but the colours look slightly off.Â

I worry that the proportions are weird because I’m not so great at drawing small scale but if I'm honest I think it works, it adds to the humour. Look at that duck, why is it so fat?Â

this is difficult - I feel like there might have been an easier way using after effects or something - but I find tiny details really difficult to get right even on paper.
I am quite keen on the sob actually

This bit is taking the longest because it is the most complicated - I keep having to adjust things from the inbetweening.Â

I didn’t know what way to have the colours but I felt like the green tears looked nicer.Â

there are some bits on the white sheep that still need tweaking ( for instance the red)Â
