I’m the world’s worse advocate for wasps. Everytime I see people repeating bees=nice good pollinators wasps=bad stinging meanies, I face a deep internal struggle trying to explain how they are important to the environment without explaining wasp facts that freak them out in ways they never even thought

Spreading awareness and knowledge of or even just showing appreciation for biodiversity (local or otherwise) is such a powerful thing
#legit though ive had a lot of fun introducing bug stuff to my fellow vtubers#the world is a friendlier place when you acknowledge the life cohabitating with you#bugposting

Thanks to everyone who commented! I think I have a good idea for what to do now...
Guys. I need help. Can anyone list moths that have religious significance + folkloric relevance in the real world? I need it for a project but google isn't helping.

Mecynorhina torquata

The males of this beetle are 55–85 mm (2.2–3.3 in) long, while the females are 50–60 mm (2.0–2.4 in) and they are native to tropical Africa! It is among the largest flower beetles in the world, second only to the Goliath beetle! The basic color is green, but they can also be blue. The males of this species have a horn, while the females do not. Interestingly enough, by implanting electrodes into them, these beetles can be made into "cyborgs". Radio signals can then control their muscle movements, like walking and flight.
Images: male (left) and female (right), and a blue variant!

Tokusect - Cassette Beasts
A moth based on a tokusatsu hero! Very Kamen Rider-esque. Also very cute. It even has what resembles a transformation belt!
You can get it by "remastering" Dominoth during the day. It is much more similar to its predecessor than the alternate upgrade path (and does not evolve further), likely representing the masked moth transforming into its heroic form.
It's a wind-type monster, and I think wind is a common element for heroic characters in Japanese media, but I'm not sure if such associations actually exist, like with bugs. Kamen Rider Double is wind-aligned at the very least, and that's good enough for me.
This one was actually my main throughout the game.
