[◎] - so maybe the best place to meet co-workers is... anywhere except a crime scene, but connor thinks it’s rather normal ( it shouldn’t be ) but well, his profession tends to drive such interactions. at least he hasn’t licked any blood ( yet ) when his scanners match the face of the woman already at the scene of the crime.
SCHNEE, WINTER BORN: UNKNOWN // BUREAU CHIEF, FIBONACCI CRIMINAL RECORD: NONE
his superior, then. some part of him was relieved ( there’s comfort in following orders he craves ) to see her, but at the same time, his relationship with captain fowler had been... a bit less than amiable. well, he’d try to get off on the right foot before he started licking blood. offering a friendly smile ( maybe better saved for when they weren’t at a crime scene ) and a hand, he said, “ hi, my name is connor. i’m a crime scene investigator. ” / @vereisten

an android? ah, so that was why he had blue blood. still, the revelation has Lee reeling. while not outwardly as surprised as he should be, his thoughts are racing. he’d seen robots before, having spent a lot of time in a high tech lab, but none humanoid and, well, alive. he had many questions, but would be pretty insensitive to bombard him with them while he was hurt. they could wait.
“Hm?” the androids question snaps him from his thoughts. “Oh…yeah, I suppose so. I guess you could attribute my lack of surprise to me not being exactly human myself. I’m only half human, so weird things like that don’t bother me.” he pauses and reaches into his pocket. from within it, Lee procures a small handkerchief and hands it over. “Even if you’ll heal, you should wipe the blood away.”
[◎] - a handkerchief. connor had never seen one in person before ( he’s read about them, though; thanks internet ). the sight perplexes him somewhat, as it seemed rather old-fashioned, but he won’t ask. connor tries not to be too much of a bother to humans... and partial humans, he supposed.
the kindness in itself was a bit foreign. androids aren’t exactly first-class citizens, after all. “ are you sure i can use that? ” connor asked, unsure, deciding that clarification should be in order. “ i’ll get it dirty. ”

Generally, he stays away from other species of the galaxy. His galra appearance making it extremely hard to actually have a friendly conversation. But here, nobody seems to have batted a eye on his appearance or even fur alone. And he never seen this many humans before.
And then he spies something that excites his curious nature.
Its a glass ball on top of something that resembled a spinning devise. The inside of the glass orb full of…something. A strip of plastic covering the glass.
“Excuse me. What is this?”
[◎] - he’s begun to realize that humans ( and non-humans, especially ) don’t take kindly to being stared at. in light of the revelation, connor has done his best to avoid holding eye contact for too long. but it’s the first time he was approached by someone so acutely inhuman in appearance, and he has to force himself to not simply freeze and attempt to scan. connor is young, after all, but he’s not stupid. staring is just rude.
the skin of his hand recedes as connor reaches out to touch the machine, and the mechanisms give a cheerful click as it dispenses a prize in a small capsule. “it’s a gashapon machine,” he said, offering the small toy to the purple furred creature. “ a game that dispenses toys as prizes. more common in japan than america. ”
he was built in america, and his databases tended to give him relavent information to the country. but on second thought. “ ...though i don’t know if we’re in america now. ” his led circled yellow, uncertainly. “ can i ask if you’re human? ”

While he may not have felt it a victory, of course Annastasia did. LOOK at her as she bounces on her heels with that big smile on her face, “And you weren’t even THAT close to the distance. Dude, that’s so cool!” Also, she may be excited to win something. She’s already have it in her head that Conner was going to win and what he wins was going to be given to her. Wow. Look, she’s a brat. “Conner I get that? For the skateboard?” But at least she asked. She looks up at the android with hopefully expectations.
[◎] - her excitement triggers his own ( or at least, an emotion he thought was excitement ) and connor smiled. he’s not used to genuine compliments and it takes him a little off-guard, but it makes him feel warm. like his fans aren’t working properly, but a systems check says all systems are functioning properly. he likes the feeling.
“ thank you, but it’s just a matter of preconstruction. ” and for him, it really was. but he doesn’t even register the prize portion; losing had never occurred to him. his mission was to help annastasia win, and he had. his led whirred a soft blue and his task bar displays a firm mission successful. “ of course you can get it. ”

Celebrating? Well that was definitely a question that Central wanted to know as well. “To be honest? I have no idea. In fact, I find it rather difficult to understand why we’re even celebrating in the first place. Seems like someone decided to make this a time to celebrate and now we have celebrations, as strange as that is.”
Still, even if it was a time to celebrate, it wasn’t something Central could fully appreciate. Probably because of some sense of paranoia, or at least good sensed suspicion of the whole thing. “So what do you make of this entire thing? Does it seem strange to you?”
[◎] - connor doesn’t really know what a festival should look like, but he’s pretty sure he enjoys the clamor. it’s a little overwhelming, but he thinks that he likes the feelings of excitement ( it’s so strong it’s tangible ). feelings are strange, but enjoyable. he likes feeling. it makes him more human.
“ i don’t really understand the point behind the celebration, considering technically we’re all hostages. however... ” it was nice. maybe this could be a good thing? hank would probably say it was his excuse to take off work. “ even though a celebrations protocol isn’t in my databases, i think i like it. do you? ”

[◎] - it isn’t like being an android doesn’t have it’s perks. his reflexes are much better than a human’s, and he caught the wrist of the young woman who had bumped into him. he released her as soon as she steadied; his social module didn’t tell him much in times of doubt, but he did know most humans didn’t appreciate unnecessary or lingering touch from strangers.
“ excuse me. are you okay? ” straightening his tie ( it wasn’t crooked in the first place ) and jacket, he peered at her, led a still blue. but he was a detective, and he noticed her posture and mannerisms. ( she was nervous? ) “ you aren’t being pursued, are you? ”
{ - } Worry was her main focus. Worried about where she was, what happened, how she got here. But, the one thing she wasn’t worrying, should have been the the forefront of her mind. She, lost in thought, bumped into a man. And because of the startle, she simply bounced into a wall, and fell.

❝ That is how a pessimist talks, I can tell. Why cannot you appreciate instead that we see that burning bright star less before it violently kill us all in the distant future, destroying everything and anything around us? Frankly, I would like more eclipses but as it tragically seems, we have no saying in what’s happening in this city. ❞
[◎] - “ i like to think i’m a realist rather than a pessimist. ” there is no glass half-full or half-empty; the glass simply has liquid. “ though... eclipses are nice to look at. the thought that we are potentially headed towards apocalyptic destruction is more disconcerting, but i guess if we're headed there anyways, i wouldn’t be opposed to seeing more eclipses. ”

“The eclipses signify the arrival of new citizens and the removal of others. There does not appear to be any devastating effects, despite the frequency at which they occur.”

She’s frustrated, and when you’re frustrated you tend to do much poorly than before at a game. That’s just how the world works. Annastasia’s played PLENTY of games on the console and she should know better. YET, she’s frustrated that she can’t knock at least two more down. She’s had her eyes set on the prize and she wants it bad. She’s about to throw again, but she’s stopped when she hears that familiar quirky-cheerful tone of an android. “What?” So, she’s taken a step back, bounces the ball in her hand. “You knock down the bottles, right, and you get a prize. I want that one,” She’s pointed at some decal sticker item. “I figure Maxi could use a makeover, y’know?”
“Do you wanna give it a try? It’s pretty fun.”
[◎] - maxi; his databases returned the information to him. the skateboard. the name of the skateboard. connor had named a potted plant, so really, he wasn’t in any position to judge. he’d heard of stranger things. but... did he want to play? well, there was no reason not to.
“ i suppose. ” the best part of being an android: wireless payments were done with a blink. hefting the ball in his hand and contemplating the proper angle to throw for maximum effectiveness, connor made a note to throw the ball lightly and tossed the circle of plastic away. the tower of milk bottles crashed to the ground. mechanical perfection ( somehow, it didn’t feel like a real victory. )

The first thing that caught Yesod’s attention was that LED on Connor’s temple, and he lacked the politeness to avoid staring at it. Was it an attachment, and how deep did it go?
Yet when he realized Connor was likewise staring at him, he pulled at his turtleneck to ensure its complete coverage of his neck.
“… I cannot stop you from asking questions.”
He would have frowned, but he’d been frowning for the past hour. Any more effort would have made it a scowl – not the emotion that he wanted to express.
“But, I would perhaps be willing to answer a few, especially if I could pose my own afterwards.”
[◎] - connor had gotten used to people in spirale city staring at his led ( it didn’t really ever bother him, even back in detroit ) and he took little notice of it, moving his head to the side for a clearer view. “ it’s just an led. ”
well, he didn’t have to ask for permission. “ but it’s polite to ask. ” connor offered a faint smile. hank had taught him that. or rather, hank’s irritation had, after the third or so personal and faintly invasive question connor had asked.
“ you can ask me all the questions you’d like. ” it wasn’t like he had much of a concept of invasive questions. speaking of, in fact, “ are you not human? or do you have some sort of information blocking device? ”

“i’m pretty unnoticeable.” her tone was lightly teasing before a tilt of the head, glancing at his lap, a plant she had noticed upon being closer. “seems like you have a problem, don’t you? little guy seems a bit unhealthy.”
curiosity struck as it tended to, taking closer steps and inspecting the plant. she paid no mind to the closeness, she was actually kind of concerned. “mm, can you tell me how you’ve been taking care him? i think it could be one thing or another, but if i know, we can probably help him live!”
[◎] - “ a problem, yes, ” he agreed. the invasion of personal space was of little concern to him ( he’d always had a bit of trouble with the concept ), and he offered the flower dismally. “ i’m no good with human things, ” he admitted, with something underlaying the normal quirkiness of his voice that might have been surrender.
well, that sounded a bit odd without the context that he wasn’t human. oh well. “ of course. i water it at human mealtimes. ” he sounds faintly proud of himself for remembering that, but seems to consider his statement briefly. “ is that... not what i was supposed to do? ”
