🍸 Hey Hal, fancy a dip in the pond?
He raised his eyebrows, swinging his legs from where he sat on the edge of the table. "I might," he teased, the booze having left a red blush on his cheeks. "I love swimming."He frowned, the statement feeling weird in his mouth."I mean, not that I do it often. Who's asking?"

He skipped over to the cabinet, in that flitting way that told every non-human that Hal was, indeed, not entirely human either. He never saw that himself, though. He took out the alcohol, bandage, and herbs against the infection and the swelling before returning. He first dabbed a cool cloth against the wound, taking away most of the mess and the blood, being as gentle as possible yet making sure he cleaned it well. Then came the alcohol.
“Will sting,” he warned.

"Penny," she smiled brightly, holding out one finely boned hand. "I am Sophia, but everyone calls me Soso. Probably because I am so-so at almost everything."
She shot the other woman an amused glance as she took another bite.
"Damn, this is divine. We don't get this stuff at home and my parents are filthy rich," she pouted. "I could go for tea if ya join me?"
Temptations
She wasn’t. Soso may pretend to see ghosts, but all she could do was a bit of telekinesis. Nothing actually ghostlike. That didn’t mean she wasn’t aware of the fact they existed.
She just.. had never seen them.
She almost licked her lips at the sight of the muffin, taking the plate with a small, graceful inclination of her head.
“Thank you, miss…” her voice faltered, “yes, what is your name?”
She plopped down at the of the tables, carefully peeling back the mint green paper, tugging at it until there was enough exposed for her to take a small bite.
“And how did you guess?”

He looked absolutely baffled, which in any other situation would have been rather hilarious. The heavy blanket started to heat up, though, and Hal's shoulders sagged, as he hid into the comfortable warmth.
He reached out for the food. For one moment, he eyed the other, seeing if maybe, it was a trap.
Then he quickly dug the food out of the bag, and started eating way too hastily, as if someone would come and take it.
blood and water
coexistensis:
Hal opened up wrapped in easy, loose clothes. A puddle of blankets laid on the floor, obviously where he had made himself comfortable. His hair was drying, showcasing an impressive amount of curls.
“Come..in?” he questioned, almost. He wasn’t used to visitors. Much less those without ill intent. He let the hulking man in, the room freezing cold, even if it didn’t bother the vampire.
“So.. You bought my time. Now what?”
“Now you eat.” Stepping inside, along with the scent of what had to be a burger and chips, Eamon set the bags down on the floor. It was a cramped, unpleasant space, and the reality of it (seeing it, instead of simply guessing) set his teeth on edge.
Clearly he was going to have to have a chat with the boss after all.
Reaching into the second bag, Eamon withdrew a heavy looking blanket, attached to a.. cord. With a decisive jab, he plugged it into the outlet, and dropped the whole weight across Hal’s shoulders, the plush fabric already starting to heat.
Some of the people were here by choice, he’d seen them. People that got off on the abuse, and the mistreatment. He didn’t think Hal was one of them.
“Foods’ in the other bag.”

He frowned. The man had spoken more words to him than any other customer had ever done, and it was.. strangely addictive. Human contact that went beyond orders.
Or well, a little.
“It’s room four,” he offered, haltingly, like he wasn’t quite sure if he should trust the other man because indeed, he was a rather.. intimidating figure. “But ya don’t.. I mean, the boss ain’t.. not really,” he gave a small wave with his hand. To be frank, the boss was terrible, but they wouldn’t hear him say that.
“What do ya need my time for?”
He just wanted to sleep, preferably get warm again, because fuck, he was cold. He was always so fucking cold nowadays, the lack of blood and food and heating - vamps didn’t need it after all, slowly taking their toll.

Penny thought she had enough to deal with, between the rioters and the usual stress of trying to keep her business above water. The former being the much bigger problem, but having people with picket signs tended to be bad for business.
And then the girl walked over.
She was beautiful, sure. But she had trouble written all over her.
And a curious looking spirit trailing after her, with a mischevious grin and a finger pressed to his lips to warn Penny not to say a word. Sure, she should be worried– but why be scared when you could be curious?
“For you?” Blowing a few strands of bright blonde hair out of her eyes (and the wind blowing it right back) Penny eyed the newcomer with a brightening smile, “Not apple. That’s not your favourite. Come in? I’m usually pretty good at guessing. And this might be good, but it isn’t what you want.
She looked surprised at that, eyebrows raised as a small smile tugged at her mouth. She skipped a little closer, studying the girl with the muffins.
She was right, it was chocolate.
“How did you know?” she asked, following the girl inside. With a soft hum, she studied the shop. It smelled like heaven, and she could stay here forever.
“This your place?”

He saw the slight hint of fangs as the man spoke and sighed. Another customer, maybe. But apparently not one who was planning to take him in the shower.
That was something.
He was actually rather surprised to see the man actually leaving, and five minutes later he poked his head around the corner, wet hair flopped over his eyes, a towel around his shoulders.
“Look, if ya wanna drink.. I’m sorry, but I am barely standing. I know I ain’t able to say nope, as I’m going on a debt here, but really, it’d mean a thing or two if ya could come back tomorrow.”
He shot the man a small smile.
“I’ll give ya extra, I just need some sleep.”

Hal && Eamon … continued from here
He shouldn’t be down here. The last thing Eamon wanted was to hang around the damn den any longer than absolutely necessary; but he’d seen the younger man stumbling towards the back rooms, looking like death warmed over.
A statement that was less funny in a place like this.
Rounding the corner Eamon threw up a hand to cover his eyes, sparing the man what little modesty he was probably allowed in this hellhole. “I didn’t mean t’ catch you in the baths. I’ll wait outside.”
Because he wasn’t one of those leering bastards waiting around outside. And he’d be damned if he acted like one.

Sophie wasn’t all too interested in the protesting. But she was interested in seeing people riot. She was sitting on a low wall, watching the cheering mob and, subsequently, seeing the girl with the muffins.
There were many things Soso could say no to. Sweets were not one of those things.
She hopped from the low wall, her breath forming small clouds in the chilly air. Although the protesters were still gazing at Penny in a rather confused manner, Penny could hear a rather chipper voice.
“I’ll get one!”
She was rocking back and forth on her heels, almost inhaling the warm scent of apple cinnamon, holding up her wallet. “How much for one?”
Temptations
@coexistensis ♡ for a starter
Most of the street smelled like chilly air and exhaust fumes, cold enough that it threatened to freeze inside your nose as you walked. It was a quiet street, the sort that had a pet store, and a toy shop, in line with a cheerful little bakery on the corner.
A bakery that smelled like divinity. And had a small crowd outside with very angry signs.
Cupcakes of the Devil Sinners Sweets! Don’t be tempted by … Well, that last one hadn’t been written very well, and the writing seemed to scrunch up too tightly to read at the end.
It was just one of those days. Shaking her head, Penny tucked a dozen muffins into a basket, balancing the warm weight of it on her hip, as she plucked up the urn of coffee in the other.
Protesters, even ones outside her bakery, would get hungry, after all!
Prodding open the door with one foot, the wind catching her blonde hair, Penny held out the peace offering to the very confused protesters. “It’s freezing out here! Do you guys want milk or sugar? I bet you could use something to warm you up!”
Even confused protesters could be lured with apple cinnamon…

🚿 (whatever combination of muses sounds like fun)
Answered for @eloquated
Hal was showering the remains of blood off him in the communal bathroom of the brothel. Last customer for today had been a difficult one, with a lot of demands - and a lot of appetite.
His legs were wobbly as he rinsed the soap out of his eyes.
He was so caught up in washing himself that he did not realise someone had come in, Only when he had wiped the last of the water away, he vaguely saw the shape of someone else.
“What the hell?”
