political - whilst franco arrives on the side of the spanish he must try his best to remain as neutral as possible, which may prove to be more difficult than he expects. this is his first great job as a chronicler, certainly the first away from the court of aragon, and he has so much determination to do the events justice but he is a spaniard first and foremost - should he have to paint their royals or nobility in a bad light he might find himself in a position of great conflict.

professional - as a chronicler it is franco’s job to be present during all of the festivities and ceremonies to ensure that they are recorded and preserved for many years to come. two things that he must hold dear is honesty and ensuring that his works are as detailed as possible, nothing short of perfection will satisfy him, but there is every possibility that this might lead him into a spot of trouble. if franco should become privy to something he shouldn’t he would be torn on whether it should be included in his recordings or, if it’s particularly enticing, he might even be able to make something of himself off the back of it.

romantic - the fact that he is so driven professionally means that there is every possibility that matters of the heart might sneak up on him, particularly of the forbidden variety. franco is not a nobleman in his own right but he still finds himself surrounded by others of high birth within their circles, his job demands it be so, and his eye might wander away from his note taking should the right person pass him by. to make it even more interesting, he could potentially tell a lie or two about who he is just to be able to get closer to the person in question which would surely cause a great deal of tension and trouble for him in future.

political - in her experience, it isn’t always best if cecily places herself at the forefront of political conversation, alas she intends to do so regardless. she has learnt a great deal from witnessing the betrayals of past kinds first hands and often will find herself reminding others at court that there mere presence does not portray loyalty as much as they would like, she knows all too well just how quickly they might turn should a ‘better’ option come along. in current times, her political alliances lie with her family regardless of where that might place her and intends to continue just so in the wake of the union with spain. in fact, she’s quite looking forward to it.

romance - in future cecily will be faced with the difficult position of choosing between her position at court and her heart. be it thomas kyme as it was historically or someone else not suitable, i hope to explore this side of her and see which way she sways given the changes as we divert from history to a degree. she may or may not still be banished from court in the end, though i would love the drama of her being faced with that, it’s certainly something i hope to see play out one way or another.

widowhood - in recent years cecily has unfortunately been made a widow for a second time after a twelve-year-long marriage which was very good to her, as was her late husband whom she truly mourns with grief. it was a political match but there had been much happiness and adoration found in the pair, as seen by the words left by the viscount welles in his will, and from which cecily birthed two baby girls; both of which had sadly also died by this time. we will see cecily returning to court and to her normal life after a couple of years of mourning, thrust into the joy surrounding the marriage and attempting to banish the demons which will no doubt come rushing back in memories of her own wedding day now that her husband is no longer with her.

Political: Much like his father, James took an interest in maintaining both an alliance with England and an alliance with France.  He hopes his trip to English court will further good relations between the two countries, especially with the proposed marriage between himself and King Henry VII’s eldest daughter.

Romantic: He was briefly betrothed to Cecily of York at young age and the possibility for that marriage quickly dissolved.  He was involved with a few mistresses over the years, which resulted in several illegitimate children.  He still maintains a relationship with Janet Kennedy, but he is prepared to end things between them out of respect for his marriage negotiations.  He wishes to impress Margaret Tudor and hopes for a successful, prosperous future union between them.

Ideological: A proud Catholic, James is also a man of science and the arts.  He takes a great interest in experimenting with words, inventions, and he is a great supporter of all creators within his court.

Romantic: She loves her husband, remains loyal to him and their children.  Despite rumors, she never took any romantic interest in Richard III and she finds the suggestion of such distasteful as he was her uncle.

Ideological: Believes in Catholicism and devotes time to her faith.  She plays her part in the ‘Tudor myth’, showing her country that she can produce a lasting lineage and that her husband can keep their dynasty.  She’s determined to prove she was not the girl rendered illegitimate, but a true princess and now a valuable, generous queen.

We would love Daniel here, and I personally see him as Charles Brandon, or any other noble from Arthur’s circle of friends (you can easily find some names by googling up 15th century people, but you can also give us an OC and we’ll just place them as young nobility). I could also picture him as Roland de Velville, rumored to be (read: is) the king’s bastard with a Breton woman he met during his exile.

We would love Richard Madden as William Compton (nobleman and general waste of royal coin, though we love him for it), Edmund Dudley (minister of King Henry VII and president of the king’s Council), Gilbert Tailboys (the future husband of Bessie Blount). But he could easily belong to the Spanish suite as well! Perhaps a cousin of Caterina of Aragon, with claims to the throne of Castille?

POLITICAL – The Howards were always impressive beings, the boasted power even when they had none, and sought to reach the stars. Elizabeth had always been clever, and demanded that she be tutored like her brothers, and was thus granted a man’s education. She listened to every word her father spoke of family pride, of the Howard name and the enemies it would undoubtedly gain – they were adaptable and even after the fall of Richard III, the Howards rose up once again. Elizabeth is determined that she should continue to rise, and secure a place in the English court.

ROMANTIC – The Noble Lady Elizabeth Howard married Anthony Boleyn, a disappointing match, that’s what they all said when they looked at the two. It was not love which joined the two in marriage, but friendship and shared ambition. Elizabeth saw the potential, even if her father could not – but he was smart enough to trust her judgement when most fathers would not. Their marriage is more than companionship, it’s about striving towards something great. She continues to push her husband, even though she knows he needs no encouragement.

FAMILY – Aside from the loyalty which she holds towards her Howard family, she also owes her love and loyalty towards the Boleyns. Elizabeth has thus far had three children: Mary, Thomas and Anne, but only the girls have survived, the youngest of which is still clutching her wet-nurse. She loves them dearly, but does not seem them often as she is at court and they are at Hever Castle. Elizabeth is fiercely protective of her family and will do whatever she must to keep them safe, even if that means ever having to defy her husband. political: agnes exudes her own degree of political ambition; she adores her position as the countess of surrey, it suits her well, but she is ever hungry for more and so pushes her husband to strive towards greatness. a former supporter of richard iii, the surrey’s were not held in high favour when henry vii first came to the throne. yet, the howard’s were nothing but tenacious and cunning and soon raised themselves to be indispensable to the king and his family –– nessie sees herself as the orchestrator of this reversal of fortunes. they were recalled to court in 1499 and more recently, her husband was sworn into the privy council, a position that nessie is eager to use to her advantage.

romantic: at the age of twenty, nessie married thomas howard a mere four months after the death of his first wife (and ness’ cousin), elizabeth tilney. although there has been rumours suggesting that ness used her beauty and charm to seduce the earl of surrey before the death of his wife. whatever the case may be, it appears that the earl is rather smitten with his young wife, especially in how quickly he married her and considering how little in terms of dowry she brought. for ness, the marriage serves a purpose and whilst she is fond of her husband, she is still a great deal younger than him and so often seeks the company of younger and more virile men.

family: she is the daughter of hugh tilney and eleanor, daugher of walter tailboys, both of whom are still alive although spend most of their time at their estates in lincolnshire. ness corresponds with them as often as she can but has not seen them for some time. she is closer to her brother, sir philip tilney, who was a former squire to her husband but since the marriage has been acting serving as a knight of the realm. ness also has ten step-children, most of whom are older than her or very close to her in age.

Political- She’ll soon become queen of France (again) but before that she has a responsibility with Brittany since she is determined to keep it independent from France even after the marriage something that so far she has managed. She does like France and also does want to be a good queen of its people but that doesn’t mean she’ll just give her duchy. Now they are far from all but she won’t get comfortable just because they are away. She is intrigued about the upcoming wedding since it may bring very good and interesting developments 

Romantic- The girl is 21 and already has been married twice. She was promised to Edward V but he “disappeared” shortly her father died and she became the heir of Brittany by proxy she was married to Maximilian when she was only 11, that didn’t even last a full year because Charles VIII of France intervened and they married. Really they were kids playing at being a king and a queen and being husband and wife, she cared for him but she never loved him, after he died she became duchess again but she will be marrying Louis XII soon, now that she is no longer a child she does wonder if she’ll love her new husband.

Family- She became an orphan when she was 12, and her sister died young. Having a family is something she wants and has been proven hard, and she has began to worry that she may not be able to have any heirs which is something that is starting to worry her more and more.
