"Corporate Communications in a Web Society" - Your Topics
Dear ITIS-students, you asked to join the "Corporate Communications Today" course at TU Braunschweig. Yes, you can... It will start from now on.
I've send you the Doodle Link for your topics via E-Mail.
You have to do a short Pecha-Kucha-presentation generally about "Corporate Communications in a Web Society" and publish it on YouTube. The best results will be published in our wi2-Blog as well.

PechaKucha means: 20 slides in 6:40 min, that means exactly 20 seconds for each slide. See here. 
Your main question should be about the "cooperation in a web society"
How is the society transforming from mass-media-orientation to a society in which the web is the most important medium?
What about norms, new conventions and lifestyles in a web society
What about "cooperation" in business, enterprises, politics, democracy and society?
Please make sure to to read the course modules 1 to 6 (videos and presentations) from Prof. Susanne Robra-Bissantz in this Tumblr.
I'm offering to you these four topics:
Social Media Marketing: What are the best examples and best practices to deal with the "lose of control"? See for example Tim Leberecht. 
Innovation Management: How does creativity and cooperation work best in a connected age? See for example Clay Shirky. 
Public Parts: How is the web society changing our private and public life? See for example Jeff Jarvis 
Knowledge Management: Too big to know? How could we deal with knowledge in a web society? See for example David Weinberger - 
You could start your argument from these authors or from other good examples you know from the web. You could argue with Pro's and Con's of a debate (5 good reasons why we should let our employees use facebook at work - and 5 reasons why we shouldn't do this, for example). For about 5 to 10 slides. Than you develop your own thesis.
Please upload your presentation on Slideshare (20 slides) up to the 2014/12/19. I will give you my feedback up to January 2015. Please upload your final Pecha-Kucha-presentation up to the 2015/01/30 on YouTube. 
There are two ways you could create your video. First, only the slides (20 sec for each) with your audio comments. Or, second, you'll perform your presentation "live" and record it. Like here. 
I would prefer a "real" Pecha-Kucha, a live presentation! 
For both ways keep in mind that you have to present it in only 6:40 min! So you have to think quite clear about your most important argument. You have to keep it simple and straight to the point.
We've got 11 ITIS-students and 4 topics, so up to three participants could work together on one topic (see the doodle). 
If you want to join our course and do a PechaKucha, please e-mail me and fill out your name and choosen topic in the Doodle that I've had sent to you via E-Mail.

Course: Business Communication Using Social Media
Using social media like social networks, blogs or wikis has changed corporate communication dramatically. This development may be taken as a chance for new forms of communication and also cooperation, because social media does not only mean „user generated content“ or „n:m-communication“.
In the course „Business Communications Using Social Media“ we take a closer look at functionalities of social media and the effects of its usage. We deal with the so called Enterprise 2.0, a company that uses social media or Web 2.0 for communication processes and cooperation tasks in e.g. marketing, knowledge or innovation management. We show, that an effective usage of social media depends on a couple of prerequisites, which strive characteristics and behaviours of individuals and organisations. We foresee, that in future both will be embedded in a so-called web society with characteristics, which differ substantially from today’s society of mass media.
To give students the possibility to experience web society rather then just to learn about it in a lecture, we provide the course in a social media setting. This means for example, that students are asked to contribute own knowledge and experiences, to discuss and to generate solutions. Additionally to the standard platform (Moodle) of the course we will use typical social media like Facebook, YouTube, Google.docs, and Blogs.
