My opinion with regards to price levels, discounts and standard of offerings from Scribendi
youtube
I’ve made a habit out of reviewing some of the youngest academic writing services in the industry, but today I’m breaking out of it. The subject of my scrutiny this time is Scribendi.com, a Canadian service that’s activated for 21 years now.
Does old age make a service better? Well, we’ll find that out by putting Scribendi.com under the microscope. This is what I’ll tackle in this feedback on Scribendi: the services Scribendi offers, the pricing, rating, and efficiency of the customer support.
Services
Scribendi.com isn’t a writing service: it edits and proofreads documents instead. These services are offered to students, authors, businessmen and women, entrepreneurs and anyone else that might need proofreading and editing.
On the website, it’s specified that the company has professional editors. I didn’t really get the “Our real, human editors” part. Has anyone ever seen a company with unreal, non-human editors?
I looked all over the website for some samples, in order to get a sense of the quality of the services, but I was unable to find any. There is a banner with the Awards this service has gotten across the years, but I find it hard to believe that it’s gotten so many.
Another curious thing is that Scribendi apparently had in excess of 86.000 clients. I’m not saying it’s impossible – just a tad difficult to believe.
Prices
Prices can be estimated by using the ordering calculator and can start at somewhere around $50 for a medium-sized paper, depending on the urgency of the deadline. I don’t know about you, but I find that really high for some proofreading.
As if this wasn’t enough of a turn-off, the prices are set in stone, so there are no discounts. Coupon codes, too are inexistent. I asked for a promo code and I was told there is no such thing and will never be.
Scribendi.com does itself a whole deal of disservice by not implementing some sort of customer incentive for customers, all the more so since the prices are actually pretty high for the quality of the work.
Customer Reviews
The testimonials on the website are all glowing, as you might expect. The offsite ones, though, aren’t very good. Deadlines are always respected – that’s pretty much the only good thing students have to say about this service.
In regards to the quality of the papers, this is mediocre at best – the students’ words, not mine. The editors catch the most obvious mistakes, errors, and inconsistencies, but the less obvious ones are left there.
The transitions between sentences, for instance, should be corrected if they’re faulty. The vast majority of times, such delicate mistakes are not caught by the editors and it’s a pity, considering that these are the most important ones.
Also, the company promises that the editors will offer comments that will help students improve their writing skills; in many cases, there were no such comments, although there was a cornucopia of things that could’ve used some improvement.
To wrap it up, the feedback for the service is largely negative offsite, although it’s positive onsite.
Customer Support
I think that in this day and age, not having a live chat with the Customer Support is simply unacceptable. On this website, you can contact the Customer Support either by filling out a form or by sending an e-mail.
In both cases, getting an answer can take a really long time. Again, I find this fairly unbelievable. A service that’s been in this business since 1997, when there weren’t many services of this kind, to begin with, should have a live chat manned 24/7 by multiple operators.

Open Argument-Free Trade in America
Free trade has greatly affected the economy of America, specifically in 1999-2011. This case is not anymore surprising as America loses and generates 5 million jobs per year, but alarming is that free trade is the suspected cause. One-fifth of factory job loses originated from the economic boom of Chinese merchants. They took advantage by selling products at a much cheaper price, wherein those who have low incomes took the bait. Not only America is affected by free trade, but also other countries such as Britain. Experiencing an economic demise in their steel plants’ industry. Overall, free trade has its respective advantages and disadvantages at the same time. The workforce must be ready for change.
The hard choice for Pakistan - A bomb in Lahore
Terrorism in Pakistan roots from religious extremism. On Easter Sunday, innocent as the setting may be, Lahore was bombed while Christians mingled with the Muslim community. One of the aims of the Lahore bombing, perpetuated by the Pakistani Taliban, was to kill Christians but majority of the victims were said to be Muslims. Provincial Prime Minister Nawaz Shariff, whose provincial base is located in Lahore, condemned the tragedy.
Beware the cult of Xi - Chinese politics
China’s leader Xi Jinping has left remarkable words which suggested a better future for China. However, the opposite of these seemed to be happening. Reports claim that now he is facing scandals regarding China’s healthcare (e.g. the case of outdated vaccines) and his “stifling” of the media (e.g. setting reporting restrictions). Mr. Xi Jinping is now regarded as the “Chairman of Everything” making him even more powerful than his predecessors.
