Reduce, reuse, recycle You don't have to splash the cash to get something beautiful bespoke made. All these pieces were made with vintage/left over fabric Left: Vintage trim used on the curtain leading edges and turned into a scroll at the corner. There wasn't enough in the length for this to be continuous so we patched it together Top right: seat cushion from vintage ticking. The inside is rubberised horsehair, so an more eco friendly alternative to foam. Thanks to @claire_anne_mac for the tips on how to use it Bottom right: Fabric that was once a curtain (I think). It was faded in many parts but the client still wanted to make use of it rather than throw the material away All ideas from designer: @violetburns All made by me https://www.instagram.com/p/CohOY_ZI6ta/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Hand gathered headings. The ultimate curtain heading ❤️ Patience is a virtue when making these, which I only seem to have when left alone in my workroom with a good @bbcradio4 Agatha Christie dramatisation https://www.instagram.com/p/CkjQVMRIK8o/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

A little curtain to cover the front of a bookcase, made last year whilst isolating with Covid. The embroidery is a simple herringbone but it still took me a loooooong time. (I also spent time covering this boring looking IKEA bookcase in fabric I had spare (because I cut a clients curtain wrong 😬) https://www.instagram.com/p/CkWjyoVIBdK/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

This weekend feels like a final nugget of the summer that wasn't quite here. And as the sun fades away earlier and the cold hits our bones quicker, I will be outdoors less and reading more. And I have already begun with 21st century insights into Greek myths (I am currently reading @nataliehaynesauthor's, Pandora's Jar which is excellent), a particular area of history I love (and I am not at all biased because I'm Greek 😉). • The Twelve Labours of Heracles* is one of my favourite fables. Heracles's second labour was to slay the monster Lernean Hydra, who was wreaking fear and havoc on the people of Lerna. Heracles didn't defeat the Hydra on his own. He was helped by his nephew, Iolaus. • @izzywilliamsonprints designed this fabric showing the the scene of Heracles cutting off one of the many heads of Hydra. It's a textile that speaks to my Grecian heart and is also available as wallpaper. • *He is NOT called Hercules unless you are in Ancient Rome. Google needs a lesson in this (see my stories) • #interiorinspo #interiordesign #homerenovation #wallpaper #curtains https://www.instagram.com/p/CTbmFB5oFTF/?utm_medium=tumblr

Árbol del Paraíso is a fabric and wallpaper design for Cocoon Home by wood engraver @indiarosebird. India works on woodblocks so small you'd be forgiven for thinking fairies came into her studio at night and completed all the intricate work. It is a marvel to see. Hop over to my stories to see a short video of India in action. • I'm writing this post sat in the British Museum. A visit here reminded me of the brief I gave to India - These (swipe to see) images of Italian Pharmacy jars from the 1400s. I loved the "bubble" around the animals. • Available as both fabric and wallpaper. The fabric comes on unbleached cotton linen with darker tones whilst we lightened up the wallpaper. So you can match it up and cover the whole room in this design. • #interiorinspo #interiordesign #interiordecor #homeinspo #homedecor #wallpaper #britishartist https://www.instagram.com/p/CTKSroponA-/?utm_medium=tumblr

It's been a while since I've popped on here. Although I am mostly extrovert, when it comes to an online presence, I like to stay quiet. It's also been one heck of a year. Fortune has favoured interiors and I am so so grateful and also exhausted for the relentless work. A huge welcome to so many new followers. Thank you for choosing to have Cocoon Home on your radar. Most of you will already know that I run two businesses. One sells fabric and wallpaper and the other (which has been working me overtime) is bespoke soft furnishings. I am on the last day of a long overdue break on my own and the weather has been spectacularly grey, but only in a British way that I love. Sitting on a windy beach with a book is very refreshing! As I launch back into Instagram (how long for, who knows?), I have begun with GREY, showcasing the beautiful work of @callyconwayprints. Aesop is available as a fabric and wallpaper and was carved from lino by Cally. She's a mind-blowing talent. Check her out. If you're not in the market for our products, she has some wonderful prints available (see her bio for info) Next story, the Mediterranean. When? Hopefully this year 🇬🇷🇨🇾 • #interiordesign #interiorinspo #interiordecor #homedecor #homeinspo #homerenovation https://www.instagram.com/p/CS3bpdpoTJg/?utm_medium=tumblr

To help get through the work, I am joined in the studio by Diane of @lilyrosainteriors whose expertise keeps our work on track and my stress levels manageable! We don't have much new to show you yet as these works are ongoing, but here are some past and present projects. Congratulations to @indiarosebird who won the @societyofwoodengravers prize for a first-time exhibitor for Arbol Del Paraíso. If you could see the wood block in real life, you'd be even more stunned at the detail India achieves. The block she worked on for this design is a mere 20cm long by 15cm wide. She's so talented 🧡 India designed and carved this woodblock for Cocoon Home, which is available as fabric and wallpaper. Scroll to see https://www.instagram.com/p/CLFe9qtjyt7/?igshid=nv68050unbpt

A flurry of new followers is such a wonderful welcome back after a few months off social media. Thank you for being part of our online team! My name is Angela and I set up Cocoon Home Interiors three years ago. I can't draw but I fantasise a lot that I can and I figured the next best step would be to work with talented artists instead. And so my fabric and wallpaper business was born. So far, I have been immensely lucky enough to work with the following talent (in no particular order): @indiarosebird @callyconwayprints @izzywilliamsonprints @stedhead_art @catherinerowedesigns @nancy_straughan Swipe to see a selection of our work and head over to our website to see more (link I'm bio). https://www.instagram.com/p/CKUm_kmhPTw/?igshid=1wq6tb5g56h6d

We don't only do fabrics! Our sister company, Cocoon Home Bespoke, has been making all types of soft furnishings for around twelve years. The last few years has finally seen my dream realised of working with interior designers. One of the first to put their trust in me was @piainteriordesign, who created this beautiful bedroom. The quilt and cushions were made by me. I totally underestimated how long it would take to hand sewn lots of little stars to the bedspread, but it was worth the effort! • You can see more of my work over at www.cocoonhome.co.uk. • Photography and styling by @anna.yanovski • • • #homestyling #myhome #cornersofmyhome #styleithappy #simpleandstill #myhomevibe #scandistyle #scandiinspo #midcenturyhome #interiormilk #interiors123 #homedecor #interiordesign #interiordecor #decor #nestandthrive #myhome #homeiswheretheheartis #homeinspiration #interiorinspiration #homeinterior #homeinspo #homedecorating #interiors #interiordesigner #interiorinspo #interiorstyling #stripes #coastaldecor https://www.instagram.com/p/CEivXU3DVk0/?igshid=uuxk60ztlz8b
