Vanessa is Vanny right?? ….like…that’s the universally agreed upon truth right? Given the game and the movie, that’s what we all just take as fact? I would ask if it’s confirmed but I know rarely anything if anything is confirmed in this franchise.

Not only do we support it, we actively request more of it. My most popular content is my DCA stuff and I freakin love it. I love being a part of such a fun and wholesome community.

Man I love how chill the DCA fandom is with selfshipping

Because the hate I've seen for it lately has been HORRIBLEEE. Selfshipping is being known as 'Yumeshipping' and I've even seen some people catalogue it as a PROSHIP????????

The vast mayority of fandoms I've been in lately DETEST x reader fanfics. I even saw a comment of someone saying they hate Tumblr for fanfics because it's only weird ass people doing x reader instead of canonxcanon I WISH I WAS JOKING-

The DCA Fandom is the only place where I feel comfortable enough and safe enough with Y/N content IKUAHNSIOUASHNIUASAS

Obviously I've seen a few dca fans who say they hate the DCA fandom because the mayority is selfinsert but my god LET US HAVE THIS ONE AT LEAST-

We're just happy with our comfort characters who happen to be stupid animatronic jesters 😭

I whole heartedly agree with this post and I have thought many of the same things. Their dynamic is interesting. There’s this whole air of mystery around them now and I can’t wait to see how it ties back into the main story.

The irony of Sunny, potentially the only anamatronic in fnaf with no kill count (player and npc), sharing a body with unhinged moon is not lost on me.

It's really not all that surprising that the Daycare Attendant ended up being so popular, to the point that there's a whole subsection of FNAF fandom that's p much just the DCA.

For starters, there's Security Breach itself. Security Breach is a vastly different FNAF game from its predecessors. Instead of being a jumpscare-driven task management simulator, it is a free-roam exploration and puzzle game, also with jumpscares. Instead of a security guard with their butt glued to their office chair, you're playing as a kid trapped in the mall. That difference in format and story setup attracted a whole new crowd of players to FNAF.

Next is character design. Unlike the majority of animatronics in the killer robot furry franchise, the DCA is a lanky, vaguely human shaped jester with a dinnerplate head and a creepy fixed smile. That appeals to folks who might not be as much into the robot furries, but like lanky creepy jesters (I am one of those people).

Security Breach also FINALLY develops the animatronics into actual characters, rather than interchangeable jumpscares. It's not a coincidence that prior to SB, the most popular animatronic was Springtrap-- an animatronic outright possessed by the defacto main antagonist of the series. I still remember the sheer fuzzy excitement upon hearing the first teaser trailer where we found out that we would be playing as a kid and that Freddy was our friend. That's still so cool! Freddy is our friend!

But character is where the Daycare Attendant really blows everyone else out of the water.

Sun is, after Freddy and Vanessa, the NPC with the most lines of dialogue (ten). Sun and Vanessa are the only antagonists that speak directly to Gregory, rather than just having vague hunting lines. For comparison, of the Glamrocks only Roxy has a single line of interaction with another animatronic ("Get out of my room, Freddy!") and her pep talk in the mirror at the start of the game. Monty and Chica might as well be interchangeable, both only having hunting lines.

Hell, out of Moon's nineteen voice lines, eight of them are laughs, blowing away Vanny's whopping two lines in the entire game.

Sun is the only* FNAF antagonist that does not have a jumpscare sting when he grabs Gregory, and is one of the few antagonists that does not kill the player upon jumpscaring them. Sun is outright non-hostile towards Gregory, coming off as overbearing but genuinely friendly. In a FNAF game.

Kellen Goff's phenomenal voice acting further fleshes out the DCA's character, giving us solid foundations for their personalities. Sun is anxious, friendly, and bossy. Moon is a downright giggle gremlin, sadistic and playful. Both of them are childish, and the contrast between their personalities and their job as child caretakers makes them stand out even more.

It's also worth mentioning that the Daycare is one of the earliest sections of the game, easily reached within the first thirty minutes of playtime. This makes it very likely to have been seen by people who either ended up not finishing the game itself, or any let's play series they were watching. It's also one of the most complete sections of the game, with clear, easy to understand mechanics and a decent challenge, making it more enjoyable to play than some of the later puzzles.

So, yeah. Why wouldn't there be a whole subsection of fandom built around some of the most well developed and interesting characters in the entire franchise, from an installment that attracted a new crowd of people who were probably already looking for something different from the traditional FNAF experience?

*As far as I know there are no other FNAF animatronics that perform a jumpscare animation without an accompanying sound, but it's not impossible that there's someone in UCN that I've overlooked.

Just gonna put this here. This feels like it nailed her as a character and it makes me love her even more. Especially given the controversy in the fandom over her right now. She reminds me of my grandmother who in so many painful ways is so similar to her and it breaks my heart. She reminds me of myself. And when I think about she reminds me of a lot of people I know. That go above and beyond just to please others then see no result or effort given back and it’s not fair. No one deserves to feel like they have to make themselves an easier pill for others to swallow. Ever. Make them choke.

I cannot stop thinking about Episode 5 of TADC because Ragatha is, however unintentionally, one of the best examples of how isolating and difficult it is to interact with the world as an autistic person I have ever seen. To the point it genuinely makes me sad to think about her. I need to make a post expanding on this at some point but rn just. The way everyone assumes there’s some sinister hidden meaning to everything she does and says but she’s literally just trying to be nice and she doesn’t understand why it’s not working. The way she tries so hard to make connections but it constantly falls flat, she says things that hurt without realising how or why. She follows the rules she’s been taught will make her friends — she’s kind, she’s forgiving, she’s accepting and apologetic when she messes up, but for some reason it’s just not working. She tries to mimic other people, she tries to laugh at past experiences, tries to open up about her past like everyone else is doing, but now everyone’s uncomfortable and looking at her like she’s crazy and she doesn’t get it!! She doesn’t get it!!! Jax is a jerk and he’s mean to everyone but for some reason Pomni likes him and she doesn’t get it, she doesn’t understand! Pomni tells her it’s okay to be a jerk sometimes but Ragatha doesn’t like being mean, she wants to be nice to people, but she does it anyway, she gets mean like Jax and Zooble do but now Pomni’s looking at her like she’s done something wrong but she just did what she asked her to!! She doesn’t get it!! At the end of the episode everyone goes off into their groups and Ragatha is left alone, after having tried so hard to make friends and fit in and make people like her, she’s still alone, and everyone thinks she’s weird and unapproachable and she just has to give up and accept that she is inherently unloveable. Her evil alter ego tells her she’s going to die alone and nobody loves her and the only thing she corrects her on is the fact that they can’t die here. The few that might like her when she’s around don’t miss her when she’s gone, because there’s nothing to miss. Ragatha has spent her whole life systematically stripping away everything that makes her different and unlikeable in order to make herself more palatable to others, and in the process she has made herself a personalitiless blank slate with no unique identity for others to latch onto and appreciate. She has nothing to add to any conversation because she’s too afraid of being disliked to have a memorable personality beyond being generally polite and nice. And just. God. Someone get this girl some noise cancelling headphones and a therapist on speed dial, being this good of a representation of what it’s like to be autistic, especially to be an autistic person with trauma, is not good for the soul. That final shot just destroys me right in the heart. My poor girl.

One of the many things about TADC that intruiges me is how holding their breath gives them abilities. A small silly detail at first and convenient for the plot of that episode. A ‘check offs gun’ as my friend had put it. That’s for you literature nerds because I sure didn’t understand what he meant until he explained it.

Anyway. That makes me wonder what other actions could give them abilities and if those abilities would be different. Like ‘x’ action gives you ‘y’ abilities. The possibilities are endless and the circus being the way it is just makes it more endless. Like technically simply holding their breath gave them powers. Sure majority were insignificant, the only one that proved incredibly useful (in the context it was used) was kinger’s. And then…that makes you wonder further. What DOES happen to Jax if he holds his breath? Why wouldn’t he show it off. It’s probably something super embarrassing and funny. But what if it’s actually something useful too. A superpower. Long shot but like..not impossible.

I’m sure it was just something written into one episode, but the implications it leaves behind in spite of writing are crazy.

What if hanging upside down gives them an ability
