DIGITAL PORTFOLIO
Due Friday 8th March 2019
A collection of all your art and assets created for your game in a digital portfolio, including:
CHARACTERS
At least 5 characters, including protagonist, antagonist and any adversaries/bosses.
ENVIRONMENT
At least 4 backgrounds, which should show evidence of parallax.
ITEMS AND SCENERY
At least 10 items/scenery items.
ANIMATION CYCLES
At least 2 animation cycles, shown through the frame export from Piskel.
VOXELART
At least 3 examples of parts of your game shown in Voxelart form screenshot-ed appropriately.
DIALOGUE SCENE
Your scene shown with characters and dialogue.
I recommend Google Slides as a portfolio creation with appropriate titles, backgrounds and theme.
Annotations should be used where necessary.
All pixelart pieces should be scaled appropriately (20x for small sprites, 2x for large sprites) before exporting in Piskel to ensure quality is retained - DO NOT just drag it larger as this will displayed in incredibly low quality.

11 Feb - Digital deadline
Morning all
Remember that you should be adding a digital version of the assets/props brainstorm and the subsequent SIX sketches based around your game by 1630 today - link is in previous post.
Next up will be the same for your CHARACTERS. A brainstorm first and then this time TWO pages on TWO DIFFERENT characters from your game idea.
Think carefully about the following
What visuals can you explore about each character (clothes, face, size, colours)
What variations can you explore about each character
What links to other visuals does each character have (weapons, tools, power ups)
REMEMBER the task is to develop and communicate your IDEA.

Developing MORE ideas
Task 1 - ASSIGNMENT PIECE
Create a brainstorm for the look and feel for assets/props in YOUR game world. You are thinking about look and style. Make sure you consider colour/size/animations/environment/similarities/differences.
This should be a full A4 page in your book and full of notes and ideas for the above. Make sure you add all ideas to this brainstorm, even ones that seem crazy! It should look something like thisâŚ
Leave no part of your page empty - get everything on there. Remember this is just for ASSETS AND PROPS
Task 2 - ASSIGNMENT PIECE
You now need to have some detailed development of some of your assets.
Choose 6-10 different assets/props from your brainstorm work and sketch out what they might look like.
You can have small variations around them and remember to annotate everything so you can remember what you were thinking as you developed the idea further.
You should do this over a DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD in your books to give yourself room to try and develop ideas appropriately. Below is an example from a sketch book highlighting how this could look.

Graphics Essay
Morning all
I would like you to spend some time developing your research and ideas for the graphic essay. Below is a small selection of some of the areas within Pre-Production (and ultimately Production) where you can see the impact of graphics and the development of styles and characters etc throughout some gaming examples.
You will have your own examples and these should be updated on your SWAYS now for you to reference and use within the main essay piece.
https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1MNop89vd_eE3EcFyFlkz6fA-5xU1qJA3dne0eW6AGnA/edit?usp=sharing
