i got too optimistic and forgot kamala harris was dealing with the combined powers of racism and misogyny

the thing is I already know that men and society at large hate women. I know that young men in particular increasingly skew right and towards misogyny (I've read the articles, although all I really need to do is spend any time on any part of the internet to see the evidence). but then every so often something like this happens where it still somehow surprises me. like my god.. they really hate us this much.

"This country hates women." Nuh uh. Say the quiet part out loud. This country hates black women. This country hates black women. Why run from it when we are literally looking at evidence of it right now? People would rather vote for a white male felon, rapist, and traitor than they would for a highly educated sitting Vice President, who happens to be a black woman. Say the quiet part out loud and, for once in your lives, stop goddamn running from that truth.

it was a lose-lose for non usamericans anyway. but i feel for everyone plain and regular that's gonna have their life be living hell for the next four years. leave your house more and seek out your own community and build your own collaborative space with your closest neighbours and look out for each other as the paradigms shift. theres nothing youll need more than understanding and generosity and solidarity & nothing youll regret about extending them to the regular people youll live around for the next four years
