Week 9
The resource i have found is the ‘But Why’ podcasts by Jane Lindholm. It is a show that is led by kids, they ask the question and Jane answers them in a podcast finding as much information as she possible can, even inviting special guests and professionals to speak as well. Some examples of the podcasts are “Why Do We Have To Go To School?”, “How Are Noodles Made?”, “Why Do Earthquakes Happen?” and “What is Electricity?” and so on.
I feel as a teacher you could link this resource in to a unit of work for report writing or information reports, students can research, draft and create their own podcast like Janes answering many different questions, the class then can upload the podcast to their school or class private online space/portfolio (like seesaw) for all students and parents to listen to.
Below is the link on Spotify to access the podcast:

Prompt 2
The poster below is something I have found as a pre existing display that can be used within the classroom. I really like the poster and would use it within my classroom as it encourages the students to understand and create more complex sentences. as you can see below, it starts with something very simple such as ‘who’, then adding to what are they ‘doing’, ‘where’ they are, ‘when’ is it taking place, and ‘why’ it is happening, creating a more meaningful and complex sentence.

Prompt 1
Throughout my whole primary i enjoyed my teachers reading to us, like you said the the post we also were in silence, imagining and thinking about what time happen next.
I remember a book in year 6, ‘Falling Leaves: The Memoir of an Unwanted Chinese Daughter’ By Adeline Yen Mah being read to us during our reading lessons. the first 15 minutes, we would sit or lay on the floor and listen to our teacher read the text. I remember comparing myself and putting myself in Adeline’s shoes and all the emotions she felt. It was a book that stood out to me throughout my primary school and made me want to continue reading the sequel.
