2015 state of mind
To gaze out into the world and see the evidence of loss and brokenness.
Oh how we all long to feel complete. We chase the latest fads, we adorn ourselves with objects of pure desire. Yet we neglect our spirit, we try in vain to feed our souls. Our souls. The emotion centre that dictates so much of our everyday lives and leaves us in a state of confused disarray. To pause and to breathe. Taking in all of life's beautiful sights. Such a fulfilling activity. Yet we are tasked to work jobs whose main reward is a pay check to placate out ills. Consumerism, capitalism and a loss of the spiritual goodwill to all people. We wonder out loud how injustices still occur around the globe, yet we fail to examine our own hearts: When we ignore a distressed person in need, or a couple violently arguing. We say we want change, but cannot be bothered to offer up a solution.
It starts one step at a time they say. True, but when will you take that first step. When will you stop looking out for someone else to move and just make that move yourself. This world is so big, sad and lonely. Many many people are dying a plainly death from a broken cold heart. We can help them, bring warmth and light to their worlds. Instead we stay selfish and focus only on ourselves and how we can benefit from others. What I'm trying to say is that the era of selfishness needs to go, and to open up one's heart is he only way forward. With love, Clive

The chase, the void
Continuously, day by day we as people go through 'the routine'. We wake up, have breakfast (or skip it), have a bath/shower, get dressed and go on to work or school. Spend several hours of our precious day working or learning and then we go back home. To eat, watch tv/read then get some sleep. Occasionally we will go out mid week to 'jazz' it up a bit & we all eagerly await the glorious break of the weekend: with both joyous anticipation and dread. On one hand we cannot wait for the end of the week, however we are acutely aware that it's end only signals it's return. As quickly as we get into the flow of the weekend, it is over. Back to the hustle and flow of the weekday. I do ask myself at times what is the point of all this. Yes I get a decent wage that helps to pay for things and experiences I will enjoy, however I wonder if there is something better I could do with my time. We know time is precious and life is short yet we are so sold into this monotonous system of work for pay/learn for pay. I suppose when you are 'successful' these problems are gone, as you can decide your fate in many ways. However is there a balance that can be struck now, whilst we are young and full of vigour?
I'm eager and willing to go on a mini journey to discover this. I do not want to waste any precious days of my life.
