I'm not just against censorship for abstract reasons, I see it as kinda personal. I remember being a kid who'd seen and done stuff I was way too young for, and the only affirmation I ever got that what I'd been through *existed* let alone any hopeful depictions of survivors, was from fiction that I would have been "protected" from in a more censorious society. It's cruel to try to protect children from knowledge about the world when we fail to protect them from the world, when kids can and do grow up all the time with serious traumas, unseen and unaided. When we've eliminated the horror and obscenity from life, then we can MAYBE talk about art.
