ghosts again by depeche mode for my rook and emmrich, ESPECIALLY going into the final battle.

not only is the song a depeche mode song (which really fits emmy's vibe), but is the lyric "faith is sleeping, lovers in the end, whisper "we'll be ghosts again" just not totally the emmrook vibe, ESPECIALLY w my rook, a fearless treasure hunter who has nearly died more times than she can count, and emmy, who is not a lich and has to face his dear of death eventually.

and on the final battle aspect; since I haven't beaten the game yet, idk if im gonna be cruel and get emmy killed or not for the Angst™️, but we'll see

Emmrich X Rook X Hezenkoss

The tension would be hot with any Rook, but a Mourn Watcher Rook would give you the most to work with.

Two seasoned necromancers fighting over the wayward Rook, vying to have an influence on the path the younger necromancer is on.

By all rights it wouldn't ever work, but just imagine the argumentative foreplay. Both Emmrich and Johanna know how bodies work, how to make them tremble and bend to their wills. Emmrich wishes to show Rook all the joys to be found in the flesh with a little patience. Johanna wishes to show Rook that there are better options than poor, old, Emmrich.
