please practice speaking to yourself in a gentle mental voice. many of us, especially those raised by overly critical caregivers, have developed the habit of speaking unkindly to ourselves in our own heads. this is yet another instance of learned behavior that has to be purposely unlearnt. a good way to start is to monitor your thoughts and the judgments you pass on yourself, and practice rewording them in more positive, supportive language. practice speaking to yourself as if to a child who needs love and kindness. because you do. you do need those things.
in a world as jumbled and harsh as this, you deserve at least to cradle yourself in your own gentle hands. you deserve people who treat you gently. and one of those people needs to be you.

That intimate moment between you and the book you have just read the last words of, where you sit there taking in the enormity of what you have just finished.

“If you inherently long for something, become it first. If you want gardens, become the gardener. If you want love, embody love. If you want mental stimulation, change the conversation. If you want peace, exude calmness. If you want to fill your world with artists, begin to paint. If you want to be valued, respect your own time. If you want to live ecstatically, find the ecstasy within yourself. This is how to draw it in, day by day, inch by inch.”

we were meant to rely on one another actually, it’s just in capitalism’s best interests to make us think we don’t need other people and don’t owe anyone anything

“This is what makes Musk’s Mars vision so different than, say, the Apollo missions or the International Space Station. This isn’t really exploration for humanity’s sake — there’s not that much science assumed here, as there was in the Moon missions. Musk wants to build the ultimate luxury package, exclusively for the richest among us. Musk isn’t trying to build something akin to Matt Damon’s spartan research base in “The Martian.” He wants to build Mars-a-Lago. And an economy based on tourism, particularly high-end tourism, needs employees — even if a high degree of automation is assumed. And as I’ve written about before, that means a lot of labor at the lowest cost possible. Imagine signing away years of your life to be a housekeeper in the Mars-a-Lago hotel, with your communications, water, food, energy usage, even oxygen tightly managed by your employer, and no government to file a grievance to if your employer cuts your wages, harasses you, cuts off your oxygen. Where would Mars-a-Lago’s employees turn if their rights were impinged upon? Oh wait, this planet is run privately? You have no rights. Musk’s vision for Mars colonization is inherently authoritarian. The potential for the existence of the employees of the Martian tourism industry to slip into something resembling indentured servitude, even slavery, cannot be underestimated.”
— Keith A. Spencer, Against Mars-a-Lago: Why SpaceX’s Mars colonization plan should terrify you

COVID is slowly becoming a "third world" disease. While first world countries are hoarding vaccines, having doses for populations many times their size, third world countries can't get any because pharma companies want to sell to the first world countries first. Even then, first world countries will receive them first. While rich countries recover from COVID, they will forget about the pandemic while many other countries live the absolute worst moment of the pandemic without being able to vaccinate their population.

yesterday, line 12 of the Mexico City subway collapsed, 23 people have been found dead, 65 people have been hospitalized and there are some that have not yet been found.
this was not an accident, it was a negligence, the authorities had been notified about the conditions of the structure of the subway was located, however, they decided to avoid it and ignore the situation.
and now thanks to them, many people who were just tired of working and trying to get home are missing or even worse, dead. we as mexicans demand a fair trial. because politicians are always absolved of their crimes and the victims of their negligence deserve justice.
here is the link to donate to the Mexican Red Cross for those who have the means to do it.
here is a link to a carrd explains not only this situation, but what’s also happening in the rest of latin america as well.
please donate if possible and use your platform to share as many resources as you can, this post will be updated !! feel free to add on if you have more links to donate or other ways that people can help.

“In 1404, King Taejong fell from his horse during a hunting expedition. Embarrassed, looking to his left and right, he commanded, “Do not let the historian find out about this.” To his disappointment, the historian accompanying the hunting party included these words in the annals, in addition to a description of the king’s fall.“

Because I’m sick to fucking death of viral posts about zip ties, or those scam signs about selling houses or needing cheap labor, or mini-vans hanging out at the gas station. That shit isn’t real, and it VICTIMIZES! real victims by covering up what really happens with fake 1980s stranger danger BS and makes it harder for real victims to get support and sets up a blame the victim narrative. So fucking stop it god damn.
