What Makes the 2021 Kia K5 So Special?
The 2021 Kia K5 sets itself apart from competitors like the Toyota Camry and Nissan Altima with a low-slung, fastback design, the roofline comprising one long arc from the windshield to the decklid.
One surprising element is a piece of gloss black plastic on the trunk that makes the rear glass look much larger than it is, although that just makes me wish Kia made the mid-size four-door a hatchback if that’s the look it was going for Visit the website

From the moment you lay eyes on the 2021 K5, one thing will be clear: Kia has outdone themselves again at producing a seriously attractive car.
It reconfigures familiar exterior design elements to deliver a seriously attractive car. The spacious and quiet interior makes this car even more enjoyable to experience. Learn more about what the K5 has to offer design-wise here:
The 2021 Kia K5 delivers a drive that’s as smooth as it is strong. While competing cars rely on bells and whistles to distract you, the new K5 gets right to the point by offering up a reliable and respectable powertrain bolstered by a 1.6 L 4-cylinder.
These powerful performance capabilities are complemented by superior handling and upgraded chassis. This car also offers the following:
When we drove the Kia K5 back in March of 2021, we were pretty impressed with what it offered. It’s the most luxurious Kia to date, that’s for sure, and it was very comfortable.
We were very pleased with the simple but attractive interior and even with the 1.6-liter inline-four that put out just 180 horsepower, the K5 was pretty darn peppy for a midsize sedan.
In fact, we’d be lying if we told you that you absolutely have to buy the higher-performance K5 GT, as the non-GT models are more economical and should be suitable for about 95-percent of families.
Even with the dwindling desirability of family sedans, Kia has crafted a compelling example with the all-new 2021 K5. Its daring design evokes sportiness and luxuriousness, and the sleek-looking four-door is a legitimate head-turner.
The cabin is elegantly appointed and available with desirable content. While the K5 isn't particularly entertaining to drive, its standard powertrain and hushed cabin provide a refined experience.
The 290-hp GT model comes with performance equipment that provides blazing acceleration, but the added potency is prone to overpowering the front tires.
Still, a spacious back seat and generous trunk make it a useful alternative to popular crossover SUVs, especially with its optional all-wheel-drive system.
The death of the mid-size sedan may be imminent, but the 2021 K5 is one of the best left and even made our Editors' Choice list.
