So here’s the thing, for a long time queer shows and movies didn’t really exist, so we had to make them.

Yes there was the occasional Brokeback mountain or “fashion friend” in 90s movies,

But no one was doing gritty homerotic religious truama daddy issues gay, with goofy cw writing

And we waited for shows to come out with morsels of anything, and bought dvds and ripped YouTube clips, and most importantly found community in it

Now a days there’s more options, like our flag for example is outwardly obviously queer. But I fully thought it was going to be a bait literally untill they kissed because I was SO used to the queer baiting.

I assume this is also how Star Trek Kirk and Spok shippers feel cause truely they walked so we could run (to hell)

But also, the entire time the writers were denying everything. It was this crazy sub plane of existance where the show was still happening and trying SO hard to cater to their “straight 14 year old boy” intended audience.

It was an active fight, including the actors and writers and fan pressure, to make the dudes kiss. Now it’s been long enough they’re just waving the white flag and letting it be gay, as in not actively denying it anymore.

Also as far as chemistry goes, this is 200ish supernatural on the CW, with CW production, acting, and directing.

Also it’s fun ! It’s like one of the biggest fandoms out there and it’s thriving so why not join in ? Idk it’s fun to like things

Now that I finished watching the show, I have to say I'm a little disappointed on the destiel front. I mean that's the whole reason I started the show in the first place. I finished 9-1-1 and I was under the impression that destiel will feel similar to buddie( bcz everyone was talking about how the same thing that happened with destiel was happening with buddie).

I thought there was gonna be like an insane amount of evidence that proved that OK, well, if the writers weren't cowards, they would have made destiel canon, but that's not what happened, all the cool "evidence" that the fan has are, for me, "superficial" at best, only works in fanfic and not concrete enough to be something that's Canon.

I don't see destiel at all. For me they didn't have that much chemistry. 🤷‍♀️
