six years ago, just after I got a drawing tablet, my first finished piece was an undertale fanart piece of frisk. instead of redrawing it exactly, I decided to take the concept and draw kris.

so like, I don’t hate the old picture of frisk, but it does feel very stiff and static, and I really did not have any practice with lighting at the time. I’m definitely still learning and practicing, but I am proud that I’ve definitely made progress. :D

also for almost the whole six heckin years, the fact that chara and asriel’s hands are missing a thumb joint in the first picture has haunted me and I am so glad to vindicate myself y’all

my boyfriend @botsyunderscore​ often buys me things I want and I can’t always reciprocate cuz I don’t have a job right now, so I drew him a thing in exchange :P

don’t forget, I’m with you in the dark

so I’m kinda deltarune trash right now, and the first complete piece of art I ever did on my drawing tablet was undertale fanart five years ago. figured it’d be fitting that I draw a lil bit of deltarune stuff too :P

it’s gonna be hard to wait for the next chapters, I have a lot of questions and I want to know what’s going to happen next to these poor kids lol

for the first art posted directly to my art blog, I thought it would be fitting to share the icon, a quick redraw of Eleanor the giant snail from Adventure Time! I originally drew this for use in places that have circular icons, but I decided it’d also be a fitting icon for my art blog.

at first I only started using her as a placeholder icon on my main blog years ago, since we’re both named Eleanor, but everyone seemed to like it so it stuck :P

so I thought, “hmm maybe I’ll join the club of drawing the wicked twisters in the threads I gave them” but…then I checked what everyone was wearing in my game, and literally no other combination came anywhere close to how funny fret’s fantastic and stylish outfit is. why does the inner tube count as pants.

who’s telling him to put his pants on? it is up to you, dear viewer, to select whoever you think would be the funniest character to tell him this.

lately I’ve been thinking a lot about this quote and the effect that adventures and experiences have on characters when the story is over.

even if the UG helped everyone face their flaws and become stronger people, I still feel like all of the wicked twisters probably have a lot of sleepless nights ahead, and it’s going to be a challenge for fret and rindo to adjust to normal high school life again. cuz dang, that’s a lot of stress, trauma and heavy responsibility to throw on a bunch of teens :P

I finished a piece for mermay!!! this is Princess Octo-Flapper. she was originally a doodle I did in a school notebook years ago, so I decided to do a full piece of her for mermay lol. I even did a full background this time and everything :o

she’s based off a common octopus! originally I had her wearing a stereotypical fringe-y flapper dress but apparently those were actually pretty uncommon in the actual 20s, so I based her dress off a few 20s dresses I saw online.

my story for her is that she’s a mermaid princess who found the wreck of a fancy 20s ship, and she found the dress and some jewelry and spiced it up with seaweed, shells, and extra pearls from her oyster friends. now she hosts dance parties with her fish pals and fellow merfolk in the wreck! here she is doing something charleston-esque with a fish bud.

this is a secondary character from my story!!! she doesn’t have a name yet lol but she is a bounty hunter who finds criminals for the galactic union. she’s relatively young (like, late teens-ish) and new to the job but she’s getting good at it.

inspirations include: nephrite from SU, retro-futurism, and the kitchenaid product colour “boysenberry”

I’ve been working on this one on and off for like two months and I’m actually kind of tired of it so I’m just gonna post it and be done with it lol. not 100% satisfied but I wanna move on. it’s another piece done in krita and I think I’ve concluded that krita just isn’t for me.

the issue is that what IS for me is adobe elements 5.0, which is from 2006 and I am Concerned that its days of being functional on modern computers are numbered. we have a copy of elements 10 that I’ve tried too and it’s like, slightly worse but definitely the most similar thing without paying adobe more money, so I might have to switch to it.

hi my name is eleanor and I fuckin need to learn to post my art instead of fiddling with every little thing lmao

I love seeing people redraw their old work! I wanted to do this with my OCs but this is pretty much the only finished picture from their early years. so here’s kiyoshi looking up at the sky in winter garb, 10 ½ years apart, with me at age 16 and 26. at the very least I have learned how coat necklines work ayyy

I distinctly remember that the worried/sad/tired face he’s got in my redraw is what my original intent with the first picture was but…it sure didn’t turn out quite like that lol. kiyoshi also used to have dyed lighter brown hair with rainbow streaks but the reasons behind it wouldn’t make any sense with how the story is now and I don’t think it fits his character anymore.

new stardew update with (spoiler) everyone in swimsuits only cemented the Big Fabio Vibes I get from my favourite husband elliott, so here is a parody of one of fabio’s romance novel covers, “rogue” (see original here). started by tracing the pose but also put a whole lot of my own work into it! the grainy filter is intentional, to make it look more like a cheaply-printed old paperback novel lol

drew a thing!!! I am finally playing D&D again and here is my character. she’s a dragonborn bard named Rosie.

she actually came to me pretty much entirely in a dream with the exception of her name, so I gave her the comically long draconic name Ghorosiskishioreilthyeo Ibafarshanaltiui, but Rosie for short.

I dreamed up her race, personality, backstory, class, etc, which was rad as heck. she’s a lore bard who plays a wooden flute and specializes in healing magic. she’s very academic-minded and her call to adventure was when bandits burnt down her school. she’s naive and a little ignorant of how the world works, but also a mom friend and band geek. she writes down everything she learns that’s magic-based, but also has a bit of a travel blog newsletter going since she likes to write down her experiences in new places.

in my dream she was pink, but there are no official pink dragon races. I decided she was therefore a gold dragonborn who had some copper dragon(born) ancestor that made her look more rose gold. fudging the rules for aesthetic, y’all!

last night I started playing around with krita and drew kiyoshi! his hair doesn’t actually have blue in it, I just wanted to have fun with highlights.

my go-to program for literally over a decade has been photoshop elements 5, which is from 2006, so while I love it, I’m not expecting it to work for much longer and I figure I should get comfortable with something else.

I’m not like 100% happy with this but I figure if I’m gonna do more drawing I should probably get used to posting stuff even if it’s not perfect :P

I think a lot of the pieces are pretty good, especially with a tighter time crunch, so I wanted to have at least something representing them on my art blog.

ten years ago as of last week, I made up some characters that I wanted to write a story about. I started it, dropped it after a few chapters, and picked it up again and rewrote it for NaNoWriMo 2010. both of those stories sucked. but the characters stayed with me, and although they’ve changed in a huge amount of ways over the past decade, I’m still thinking up and daydreaming adventures and stories about them. I’ve never actually drawn all six of them before, so I figured I’d do so for their tenth anniversary. (side note: one of them is a Japanese guy and one of them is a catboy because I was a huge weeb when I created them and I just haven’t had the heart to change them lmao.)

the story is that they’re all misfits, and they travel around on this sentient spaceship named Novahaven and have adventures. it’s part sci-fi and part fantasy, because in this world magic exists on other planets. the ship is very magical.

in front is Lidamay, from right to left in the middle is Zaetha, Fable, Kiyoshi, and Iris (Kiyoshi and Iris are from Earth), and in the back is Nel. Nel is an android who was actually redesigned six years ago by my buddy @championofdogs (see here)!!! I was in a slump while trying to redesign several of them and he wanted to draw some OCs so I asked him to come up with the design. I tweaked a few things and threw some clothes on him but I tried to stay true to Ivan’s design because I love it a lot!
