Questions to ask before entering into a serious relationship with a woman in marriage. (Note: the examples can apply to both sexes) Does she love the Word enough to study and know God's truth? (1 timothy 4:16) Tell tell signs... 1. Is God on her tongue in your discussions with her? (Psalms 71:15-18) Or is that a "Sunday thing?" 2. Is she interested in doing prayerful (asking for wisdom and guidance Psalm 119:33-36) Bible studies (Psalms 119:97-104) with you, as a first priority....or would she rather skip such activities for just when she's at church? 3. Is her book reading preferences geared towards Bible reading, (Psalm 1:1-4/Joshua 1:8) as of first importance, or are her novels, magazines, self-help books, etc. of more interest? 4. Can she quote scripture? You know what a person loves, by how invested they are in a thing. Christ quoted scripture when fighting Satan, (Matthew 4:1-11). Are we not supposed to learn from His example? Jesus said, as He quoted the Bible, that "Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." (Matthew 4:4). This should be our motto as a follower of our Savior. If a woman can quote her favorite football teams, winning stats, her favorite people by name on the Bachelor or American Idol, etc, but doesn't know where to find anything in the Bible, her interests are misplaced. 5. Does she want to spend her first moments of the day in intimacy with God in prayer and in His Word? (Matthew 6:33) Or are her Bible studies reserved for when sermons are preached... alone? If her boyfriend asks her for time in prayer and study, does she find this an attractive and romantic gesture? Or is she put off? Does she go to church regularly to study the Word? Or is such an activity tedious? Does she crave the Word, (2 Peter 2:3)? Does she treasure His message, (Job 23:12)? Are they a joy and delight to her (Jeremiah 15:16)? 6. When at church, is it a chore for her to sit and hear a sermon on God's Word? Is she on her phone, doing Facebook, staring at the ceiling, or playing with a baby for fun instead? My book has just been published, by Mathew Allen the CEO and publisher of the online store, Spiritbuilding. 📙 The book is called "Save a Church from Dying." This detailed/updated material will outline the past, and present states of the Lord's church and where the kingdom in America is heading, if things don't change. The book will give stats on kingdom decline. Churches may not be around... in the US, if things don't change. This book details why the kingdom is dying in America and how churches, can stop this crisis. If enough congregations change, and apply the Bible-based themes (written in this book) the culture in the Lord's church toward evangelism will change. The final chapter gives uplifting examples of NT American churches that are leading the way in highlighting a Bible-based example of having the work and right mindset for zealous outreach.
