As most people online and in my personal life know, my name is Elias. However, this is not my legal name. As the cost to change your name in the state of Iowa is steep (just about $200) and I am a struggling transgender college student, I’m coming to you and other generous donors for help. Making my name change legal will help me bypass some of the awkward transition in my personal life, since I will no longer have to include my birth name on legal documents.

Even if you are unable to donate to me, please share and spread this! Changing my name would be a big step in making my life more manageable and comfortable, and it would mean a lot if you could help me out in this.

Love is such a stupid word. I mean we use the same word to describe how we like our friends, brothers, mothers, and even our lovers. English is so limiting

When I explain cultural misappropriation to children, I use the example of The Nightmare Before Christmas.  

It’s effective because especially for children, who don’t have enough historical context to understand much of the concept, you can still fully grasp the idea.  

There was nothing wrong with Jack seeing the beauty and differences in Christmas town, it’s when he tried to take what is unique about Christmas town away from those it originally belonged to without understanding the full context of Christmas things is when everything went wrong.

When Jack tries to get the folk of Halloween town to make Christmas gifts for children, etc., children understand that the Halloween town folk do not have the full context for the objects they are making, and they are able to see that the direct repercussions and consequences are very harmful.

I hate hate HATE all those 2edgy 4me theories about kids shows. Like Angelica dreaming up the rugrats, or the ed, edd, and eddy children being ghosts, or literally anything that takes a lighthearted and fun kids show and has to turn it into some tragic take of rape or murder or misinformed mental illness. So you know what? From now on I’m gonna do the exact opposite. Every cool grim-dark show is now because of a bunch of children. To get us started: Game of Thrones: A middle-school DnD campaign with the most angry, vindictive DM who has promised to kill everyone’s player characters (and their family) by the end.
