Random vampire fun fact:

My vampires are able to contract a unique illness that causes their bodies to go haywire and 'remember' they're dead for a little bit. This results in them beginning to rot while still being able to walk around and talk.

It's mostly painless, it just causes them to really stink and make a mess everywhere for a bit and feel very lethargic and tired while their skin and muscles start falling apart, until their bodies remember that 'hey this isn't right' and repairs it again.

This is also inspiration for any undead/ zombie myths and stories humans might come up with in this world
