          i’m very attached to my muses. that means, i want to see them grow. i want to see their personalities expand far beyond that which was provided in canon ( or, if they’re an oc, i want to see their personalities cultivate beyond anything i’d ever planned out for them ). i want to be amazed by my muse when they do something i never thought they’d ever do. i want to be surprised. i follow them through their relationships with other muses, i watch them develop. when a muse that my muse cares about disappears, i feel the hit just like my muse does. this is nothing against the other muse, and nothing against the mun. i grow very attached to my muses; they become my best friends. they become a part of me.

“…Oh!” Kotaro’s eyes widened minutely in realization and though he hesitated to approach at first ( a little embarrassed by the first impression he’d given ) he was soon stepping closer, the hint of a smile on his face.

“You’re the one who helped me home that night a while ago, right? I don’t think I ever properly thanked you for that.”

hah. so much for the guy — shimura kotaro, if memory serves — having been too drunk to recognize fushimi outside his garish uniform. with a sigh, fushimi gets back to business, stuffing a half dozen cans of coffee into his basket, before acknowledging the other with a terse nod.

❝ ...it’s no big deal. i was just doing my job. ❞ he was a public servant, after all. pathetic as that sounds, even to himself.  ❝ i’d apologize for ditching as soon as you’d gotten past your front door, but i’m sure you made it to your bed just fine. ❞

throwing the unwanted ball of verbal communication towards shimura’s court, fushimi continues further into the convenience store, reaches out for a couple of energy bars.

  Tsukishima glances toward the other, and gives little more than a small, relaxed shrug at the biting remark – the underlying hint of mild amusement doesn’t waver, in spite of it.     “Mm, you might be right about that,” he says instead, with trademark pleasant composure. “But most people would surely find a more subtle way to imply it.” 

  He gives a quietly amused small chuckle then, dark eyes settling with fixed attention onto the other. “My, what an interesting, if confusing, thing to communicate– calling my very presence a disturbance, and yet inviting it anyway? Your line of work must be stressful indeed,” the librarian shoots back, his tone vaguely playful. “I’m glad to hear it nonetheless– so, allow me to exploit your contradictory nature and take you out for a coffee sometime then, won’t you?”

        ❝ is there really a need to say as much, when you already know i don’t give a rat’s ass about social niceties. ❞  definitely not, and going from tsukishima’s undisturbed demeanour, it’s not like he’s about to throw hands or clutch his pearls over it, so why would fushimi even consider bothering?

        ❝ and i’m not about to deny that, though it’s not like that has anything to do with what i’ve said. ❞

       it’s a fraction of a lie. though a particular case had been put on scepter 4′s back-burner (  — no leads to pursue; fushimi almost wished he could’ve taken a photo of the acidic edge the captain’s smile had hinted, a rare slip-up once fushimi had formally submitted documentation for the motion — ) fushimi still had instinct to fall back on.

       which now rests on how well he plays his cards with the man now smiling right at him.

       a hand had been stuffed in his pant pocket, and it now fiddles with the tang of a hidden throwing knife as he pretends to mull the offer over. then, he smiles, thin and crooked. ❝ why not? would be a nice change of pace from having to lug book orders around whenever we see each other. it’s a date then. ❞
