Tyler: There are no good luck charm abilities. It's all just coincidence like I said...a coincidence I hope keeps happening but still.

Tyler: How's camp going?

Christen: It's funny how I don't even have to hear your voice to know even you're not believing what you're saying.

Christen: Just admit it. What's it going to hurt besides your pride?

Christen: Camp is great so far! Vlatko seems to be exactly what the team has been needing -- it's still a little early to make a full analysis and decision but from what I've seen so far I'm happy with and that seems to be the general consensus I'm hearing from the other girls.

Christen: I know you miss me already. I'm sure I'll get to another game as soon as I can.

𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓈 𝒸𝒾𝓉𝓎 𝓈𝒸𝓇𝑒𝒶𝓂𝓈 𝓎𝑜𝓊𝓇 𝓃𝒶𝓂𝑒 | christen & zazie

The big apple, the city that never sleeps, the city of dreams --- New York City was known by so many things and if you had asked Christen a year ago what it meant to her she’d probably tell you it was just another city. Of course, like every other city, there were spots she adored and landmarks she found fascinating just like any other tourist but it never grabbed her soul and made her leave a piece of her heart there the way some places like Los Angeles and Goteborg, Sweden did. She had no real ties to the state or the East Coast at all, really. However, if you asked Christen today what New York City meant to her she’d say simply -- Zazie. The rooftop restaurants and bars, the beautiful fountains, speakeasies, Central Park, no matter what it was, every corner she turned in the city she seemed to be reminded of the woman she’d met only a matter of months ago but had already brought so much to her life. Christen was never much of a daredevil and liked to stay in her comfort zone but with Zazie it was almost like she was fearless. She’d follow her anywhere she wanted to go and trust she was going to have an amazing time no matter what it was she was taking her to do. It had been quite the whirlwind and the soccer player still wasn’t fully able to catch her breath. 

They’re friends -- good friends. Friends who kiss a little too much and can’t seem to take their hands off each other but friends nonetheless. It was never meant to be anything serious, just two people having fun and enjoying each other’s company in whatever way they saw fit but with every little adventure the two went on together the more Christen found herself becoming addicted to the actress. She craved spending time with her when she was over two thousand miles away back in Utah and while she played it off very cool, she knew early on that she was a goner. The way Zazie moved, smiled, smelled -- Christen was completely hypnotized.  The way her eyes sparkled in the dim lighting of her apartment with just the glow from the city lights illuminating the room as she looked at her burned itself into the forefront of Christen’s memory to the point where it was the first thing she saw when she closed her eyes at night. Sometimes it was so clear she could practically feel the woman’s fingertips dragging themselves up her sides, electing goosebumps over every inch of her skin. She was in deeper than she’d like to admit but the night always brought the truth. Not even her dreams allowed an escape.

Now that the NWSL season was over Christen was left with a lot more time to devote to her brand RE--INC. As a co-CEO she had many new responsibilities that were still a bit foreign as she tried to navigate everything that her title entailed, but one thing she knew was that she was prepared for whatever was thrown at her because she was passionate about the brand and what they stand for. There was nothing more important than to be as hands on and involved as possible which is why she was more than happy to agree to be at a shoot they were doing in New York City. It was a coincidence that her brand was taking her there but a happy one at that. The last time she left Zazie it was without knowing how long they would have to go without seeing one another but if Christen was honest, she would’ve anticipated it being a bit longer than this weekend. 

With very little time to prepare before she was jet setting off to the city she hadn’t even realized she forgot to tell Zazie she was coming. Was surprising her too much? She couldn’t just show up at her doorstep and expect to be let in. What if she had other guests? What if she was busy or better yet not even there? After her day on set was all wrapped up Christen took a taxi back to her hotel to let herself unwind. She found herself fidgeting with her phone wondering if she should even call the actress at all but she knew she would regret it if she didn’t and finally just pressed the call button against her better judgement and sat up as she heard the first ring. Her hand toyed with the corner of the fabric on the pillow behind her as she waited to hear the familiar voice. When she did her smile beamed as her heart skipped a beat, it was almost embarrassing how giddy Zazie made her. “Hey you -- what are you up to? Guess where I am.”

Please do.  I have some amazing stories when it comes to fans.   Well when you have Dwayne Johnson’s daughter messaging you directly and tells you how much your character inspired her definitely catches your attention.  Simone actually was Alex for Halloween a few years ago.  I actually have became quite close to her and see her whenever she has free time in between classes and studying here in town.  What is new with you? 

I will be sure to do that from now on. Wait really? Wow -- that’s amazing! Did you get close to her by working with Dwayne on Baywatch or was it even before then? That’s so sweet either way, though. Not too much is new with me now that the season is over. Just getting ready for camp and the couple friendlies we have coming up but other than that just trying to spend some quality time with friends and family while I can. How about you, love?

“Oh shut up, I never complain. There’s no way I’m a one hit wonder, calling it now. Nooo, stop! I was .... very smooth. He’s smitten already I’m sure. I have no teammates to set you up with! It’s not my fault they’re all either taken or on the other team if you know what I mean! It’s fine, I don’t need your help. I’m sure he found me adorable and irresistible all on my own accord. I’ve been nothing but a good friend to you, you’d think you would come through for me just this once but noooo.” she rolled her eyes with a smirk. The brunette shifted her weight and forcefully bumped her shoulder into his and walked ahead so he wouldn’t see her growing smile. “Just more to add to the list on why you’re the actual worst.”

Every time I hear people call me that is people whom live near or around me here in New York.  At local places I visit a lot, friends always call me, P or Pri.  The irony is that the role was not even written for someone of color or ethnicity.  It was written for a white person.  So when I got the call back that I got it I was definitely shocked.  The pilot and the first few episodes were actually rewritten once I was brought in.  I am definitely proud of what Alex has done in encouraging young people of all races that can be anything they want.  That is for sure.  Well my latest Bollywood film The Sky Is Pink was released earlier this month, I have some Netflix projects coming out in 2020.  Other than that not much, really. 

Would you prefer I call you one of those then? The fact that the role was rewritten for you just makes it and you all the more iconic. She has been a very important character to so many, I’m glad you recognize the impact. I’ll be sure to watch them all of course! Can’t wait.

How is that asking too much?? I’m getting these vibes that you’re just too lazy to deliver and you’re trying to turn it to make it seem like it’s my fault. I feel like I’m not going to confirm or deny that. I said what I said - take it any way you want. Key word is could though. Nothing actually did go wrong so it’s all good. Like I said, now it’s just a good story. No, I actually don’t ‘got it.’ You’ll get a vague description of what to expect but again that’s just me being nice so you know how to dress for it all. The more we talk about this though, the more offended I get. Not sad at all. That’s actually all part of my charm. Ummm, of course she does. And she doesn’t see it as me being a creep; instead, she sees it as being “incredibly annoying, Kelley. Why are you like this?” She loves me though and the feeling is mutual. God, I can’t stand you sometimes. 

Think about how many times someone has pinned something on me for being lazy and then all the times things have actually been your fault. I think that should give you your answer right there. Well now that I know how you really feel. Damn. You’re such a pain, I don’t know why I agree to go along with half of your shit but you know what, I’ll put my trust in you just this once. Don’t make me regret it. If things turn out well maybe I’ll start trusting you more and if they don’t then don’t expect me to ever again! I think everybody can agree with her on that but we don’t all love you, especially when you say mean things to me like that! Completely uncalled for.

“Please tell me there’s a recording of this somewhere. Were you all designated Spice Girls – because you must’ve been Sporty Spice. I’m not the first kid of theirs to expand into musical theatre though, my older brother went down that road first so I’m merely one more son paving another way. Oh my god, she really was a stereotypical soccer mom – I love that. It’s sweet that they all got involved! My mom’s name is Julie but she’s always been relatively quiet about her talent. Both of my parents took part in musical theatre but they weren’t exactly in productions with tours or on Broadway so. Unfortunately there isn’t any bootleg of my mom performing, save for a personal one my father kept.”

It’s a shame we can’t clone me but like from birth. I’d love to see it! Since that isn’t possible though you can still just adopt me, it might not make your heart as happy but it will certainly bring all the joy to mine. I can promise you really don’t want to hear me singing but I’ll allow it to happen just once only because I love you. No, no I didn’t do gymnastics but that was going to be the next thing I tried if I quit soccer. I’m just grateful our kits are way more comfortable than those leotards. I obviously went in the right direction. It’s so flattering and humbling to hear someone call me successful because I still feel like I’m working towards becoming better every day. For me it feels like success is the ceiling of my growth and I just don’t think I’m there yet. Is that being too harsh on myself? 

There are home videos sadly, not that I know how to watch them anymore. They were filmed on a camcorder that has a tape that fits inside a VHS.. very old school. I’ve heard of places being able to transfer them onto DVDs or video files but I don’t need to traumatize myself with all that. Of course I was Sporty Spice! I had this cute little blonde neighbor who was only one year younger than me, she would come over in pigtails dressed up like Baby Spice and then my sisters would be Posh and Scary. We were basically complete minus Ginger but she ended up leaving the group anyway. Oh wow so it’s just a whole family affair, that’s even more amazing! Is there ever any competition or are you all just very supportive of each other? That’s a shame, I would’ve loved to hear her voice but I’ll take your word for it being gorgeous just based off yours alone. It must take some insane talent to pass down as much as she did to you!
