    truth be told, cao ang doesn’t really trust hired mercenary or assassins, for she fears that they would double-cross her a moment later. however, the young lady in armor seemed trustworthy enough to be used for this task, though with excessive metal upon her frame, she wondered how this stealth mission will work out.

    “ we are going to assassinate a xiongnu officer and rescue two young boys around ten years old before they reach the border. if they do, there is no telling what they have in store for us. our main concern is the boys’ safety. let us move out now - we have only two days.”

Time can’t be wasted. Xingcai sternly nodded on Cao Ang’s words as the green-clad lady looked around on which spots has zero detection from the Xiongnu officer’s torch guards. Both have to be careful. Saving those children is a must and then returning them back to their parents.

     Yu Jin only partly acknowledges her question. “Don’t you find it suspicious that the demons did not occupy the castle?” Odawara was a valuable stronghold. Regardless, there was no way the two of them could hold it down, especially with no supplies.

     “If the enemy army is not here, they are on the move. We need to find out where they are headed so this does not happen again.” He looks down at the fresh graves they are standing next to - it seemed they were done here. ”When you are ready, we need to leave.”

“Good idea, even Lord Liu Bei would do the same thing if he was me.” Xingcai agreed to his idea of finding out the place where the snakemen sent their men, responsible for burning Odawara into ash.

There she decided to find out where are their hiding place is. a base perhaps to the snakemen. Maybe when they found it, they shall send a surprise assault to that place for retribution.

“We’re not using horses though, as it will raise suspicion on us around.” Xingcai looked at the nearly-visible footprints and decided to use it as their start.

Hearing a familiar voice, he turned his head and recognized the emerald-clad lady who greeted him. “Ah—Lady Xingcai,” the Guan politely acknowledged, dipping his head in a small bow. “It certainly has been a while, hasn’t it? I hope you have been well.”

While composing his response to her question, a humored look overcame his face, and he lifted a hand to hide his embarrassed smile. “Actually,” he began with a sheepish chuckle, “I’m not here on my father’s orders…long story short, Yinping accidentally broke one of the food storage shelves, which crushed our supply of eggs. We were short on flour anyway, so I volunteered to restock our pantry while my other siblings said they’d clean the mess.” His eyes twinkled fondly, the amusing memory still fresh in his mind. “How about yourself, my lady? By the sound of it, your father sent you here to run errands for him—is that right?”

“Yes, He sent me to do this.” Xingcai wanted to stop her father’s drinking habits as much as she can. nor moderating it. Thanks Bao, you ignorant thrall. Her mind right now cursing her elder brother making her do what it was originally mean’t. She was supposed to be with Liu Shan, training him. not like this. The frowny face continues.

Right after she heard about Yinping, breaking things accidentally again. It must be hard for the Guans to deal with appliances since their little sister was a bit air-headed. That was too bad, and adorable at the same time. Xingcai’s reaction to Yinping’s accidents? Neutral.

Once she found his favorite wine to shut him up, she’s all good. Also in her mind to help the third Guan for the flour.

“I could help you on those stuff if buying many. Could give a visit to them while at it..” After all.. the wine was not that heavy but she’s used to this kind of labor due to Zhang Bao being unreliable..

Errands, Zhang Fei just used Xingcai to get his favorite drink until meeting with Suo around the marketplace on Shu’s territories. Did Guan Yu also sent him as well?

    Yu Jin gets to work putting his armour on again, now that the job had been done. It was no surprise at all. One of the first rules of warfare was to take any chance to deprive your enemy of supplies. While Xingcai gets to work on writing the names of the deceased, Yu Jin examines the supply depot. The gate wasn’t at all damaged - opened by somebody inside, then. So that is what the determining factor had been. What human in their right mind would betray their species for the demons?

  Traitor. He hopes they had been killed in the fighting.

  Standing in the ashes of the supply depot, something hits him. Why would the demons kill all the occupants of a castle, but not capture it themselves?

  He’d allowed himself to get distracted by the carnage - he hadn’t considered it. With a hurried step, he moves to Xingcai again, to tell her his suspicions. It’s possible that this could just be the demons trying to demoralise them with the open slaughter, but this was concerning. They should leave immediately.

Finished on writing their names, Xingcai puts the ink back next to Xiaoqiao’s grave. She even gave them a traditional bow after looking around and picked up her weapons while at it.

Right when he noticed that the gates weren’t damaged. it could possibly be an inside-job. from who was it anyways. Surely there were no spies at Odawara before it became like this. What did Yu Jin found on the supply depot?

Xingcai needed an answer to this before departing Odawara back to their stronghold.

“Master Yu Jin, Did you found something suspicious at the depot?”

“The place where our fates crossed huh..” Aimlessly looked at Lingqi with a smile.

Similar of how she met Lingqi was the same. Xingcai never knew what to do on this new year. she was usually together with Xiahouji and Zhang Bao. How would she forget about that? Of course she didn’t.. 

Reminding those days past by, their time were well spent together. as if it was worth it. How do these girls celebrate new year is finding out on depending of their opinions.

“I’ve been thinking of that, Maybe watch fireworks and have fun in festives i guess..”
