Almost done. Got some clean up and last items to touch up, but we’ll be ready for Tuesday for sure!!! Excited to get the new year started! Thank you so much to our Chopper Fam for helping this go smoothly. Anna and Ty, Erin and Ben, Karina and Casey, Alejandra, Dalton, Carlos, Brent, Mike, Taran, Burk, Charlee, Lauren, Shelby, ( I think I got everyone) and anyone else who kept us in their thoughts and prayers for this move, We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Sunday Motivation
Why do we put ourselves last in line?  Why is it that we never seem to have time to better ourselves? To take an hour a day to dedicate to ourselves to be better.  Mostly, I believe, it’s that we are taught that being selfish is a bad thing.  And, in general, maybe that is right.  But, when it comes to ourselves and our well-being, why SHOULDN’T we be put ourselves higher up on our to-do lists? Take one hour a day away from all the other things in life.  To get away and be work on you for that hour and lift, run, bike, do yoga, even just meditate or go for a walk.  1/24th of your day won’t kill you.  In all likelihood, it’ll afford you a longer and healthier life.  As a coach and personal trainer, I hear “I don’t have time” more often than you would believe.  And as a parent myself, I understand this answer. I understand the work load involved with children’s schedules. With school drop off’s and pick-ups, after school sports, homework supervision, and not to mention the daily routines involved in getting all this accomplished.  It can be all overwhelming.  But, this is even more reason to try and make time for YOU.  Ask yourself this. Do you really not have the time? Or you won’t MAKE the time a priority.  And more to the point, is it that you won’t put yourself first for an hour a day? Ask yourself that question.  And then, as clearly and honestly as you can, answer it.  I would suspect that somewhere in the 90% range will answer “I just don’t” or “I can’t” without actually having a reason as to why they answered that way.  It’s just a societal norm to accept the mindset that we are all just too busy.  That there just aren’t enough hours in the day to take one to ourselves.  That we are almost required to give everything of ourselves to everyone else, or our jobs, or habits and obligations and save nothing for our own.  And we blindly do it. Without question or objection.  We give into this cycle of wake up, go to work, come home, sleep and repeat for the rest of our lives.  I would challenge you to break that cycle and start putting yourself first, just a little.  Make yourself a priority.  Because let me ask you this; What happens when you are too sick to give your everything?  What happens when you’re too tired and out of shape to run around with your kids because you have already given so much to the other things in life?  It is the sad reality that if we don’t take care of “me”, that eventually, you won’t be able to take care of anything else.  So do something about it.  Take the first step and start making a better tomorrow for yourself.  It doesn’t matter where you start.  It doesn’t matter how far gone you think you are.  There are people out there that will cheer you on and push you to your goals.  There are people out there that believe in you, even if you don’t.  I believe in you.  Yes, YOU, who are reading this and may have never even met me or even know I exist.  I believe in you.  You can do it. You can take time to yourself.  It doesn’t make you a bad person, or, self-centered, or a narcissist to put yourself first.   So get started, ask questions, do some research, find something that is right for you and pursue that.  No one else will do it for you, so YOU have to make YOU a priority. We can all be a little better each day, and isn’t that worth an hour?
