So I’ve been slacking about posting some stuff from the Wonka Handbook I got, so here’s some stuff!

🌰 Here's some (kinda) canon things about 2005 Veruca Salt's character that no one talks about: 🐿️

🥜 1. She talks really fast when she gets angry.

Example: The way she lists off all the pets that she has while in the Nut Sorting Room.

🥜 2. She strongly dislikes repetition.

Example: She calls out Wonka for repeating what he said about the chocolate waterfall.

🥜 3. She feels left out very easily and hates that feeling.

Example: She went out of her way to introduce herself right after Violet did. She also shoves past Mike to be included in a conversation with Wonka.

🥜 4. She likes attention, but isn't an attention seeker.

Example: She clearly loved being interviewed with her golden ticket, but never did anything crazy when no one interacted with her a lot

🥜 5. She loves riding thru the tunnels on the candy boat.

Example: The way she smiles after the first ride on the boat. (In the video game, she even says "I want a big, pink boat exactly like Mr. Wonka's.")

🥜 6. She holds a slight grudge against Wonka for what he said about her name.

Example: In another version of the script, Wonka doesn't call her a wart, and she's nice during the entire tour until she wants a squirrel.

🍭THINGS ABOUT (Depp) WONKA'S PERSONALITY & BEHAVIOR (To help when writing him in fanfics.):🍬

🍫 1. He doesn't always tell people things, and sometimes expects them to somehow already know.

Example: He never told Augustus not to touch the chocolate river.

🍫 2. He'll sometimes ask someone a random question that pops into his head, even if it doesn't make sense (to the other person) or isn't appropriate to ask at the moment.

Example: He asked Norman Teavee "If you had to choose only one half of your son, which one would it be?"

🍫 3. He sometimes expects people to fully agree with him on things, and can sometimes get offended if they don't.

Example: He got upset that Veruca didn't understand how he made whipped cream.

🍫 4. If he doesn't know what to say to someone, (and hasn't prepared any cue cards for it) he'll stand and stare for a moment, then say the very first thing that pops into his head; NO MATTER WHAT IT IS!

Example: When he says "Good morning, starshine. The Earth says hello!"

🍫 5. Pretends he didn't hear something that he wants someone to repeat.

Example: He 100% heard Charlie say the Chocolate Room was beautiful. (Also, Fun Fact: Calling the Chocolate Room beautiful was actually supposed to be Veruca's line in another version of the script.)

🍫 6. His reasons for doing things (especially when it's related to candy or the factory) doesn't have to make any real sense.

Example: Why he made the door to the Chocolate Room so small.

🍫 7. He gets angry if someone wrongly speaks against something he knows a lot about.

Example: When Norman said there's no such place as Loompaland.

🍫 8. Here's a big one: Sometimes he has trouble understanding why people feel the way they do about things. (Even when it'd be obvious to anyone else.)

Example: He didn't know why Charlie didn't want to leave his family behind.

🍫 9. He doesn't try to hide when he's disgusted by something, even when it might offend someone.

Example: The way he reacted when Violet hugged him.

🍫 10. He's very bad at lying, but only when he's lying to NOT offend someone.

Example: When he tried to act like the caterpillar slime looked appetizing, or told the hairy oompa that he looked great.

🍫 11. Knows a lot of "how do you even know that" kind of facts.

Example: How does he seem so sure that humans don't taste good?

🍫 12. Often times when trying to say something to make someone feel better, he just says something to make them feel worse.

Example: He assured Mrs. Gloop that her son will not be made into candy, but only because it would taste bad.

🍫 13. This one might be a stretch: He doesn't always understand sarcasm.

Example: He might not have understood that Norman didn't really think it was "good news" that Veruca and Rupert were falling on 3 weeks of rotten garbage.

🍫 14. He's a thrill seeker, even If the thrill is very dangerous.

Example: How excited he got over the 'Up And Out' button, even tho it could've gone terribly wrong.

🍫 15. Sometimes he gives strange/awkward compliments.

Example: Telling Gina that she smelled like old people.
