// Alright y’all, the time has come and Link will be moving to @musefinch ! I hate to do it since I really like this blog, but this is the best way to keep him active I think.
Unfortunately I’m going to drop the majority of his threads, just so I don’t overwhelm the other blog and give him a clean slate. If you’re interested in continuing one of his threads please IM me on musefinch!

femlette:
“ A right I don’t have to explain if you keep being rude, “ Alopay bites again. It wasn’t like she was truly barking back at him or anything; her cold demeanor and resting bitch-face just made cool remarks a lot easier to get across when she wants.
Realistically, though, neither of them would get anywhere if their little sizing-up attitudes contest kept up. So Alopay sucks in a breath, sighs, shakes her head, and puts it to herself to really explain ( because it wasn’t like he’d really have known what was happening, otherwise, to be honest ).
“ I’m sorry if I interrupted anything. —I’m figuring something out for myself, about how areas of danger affect.. what I can do. “ Alopay really hopes she doesn’t have to explain what she does either, but something tells her she just might have to after all.
Before she goes any further, in hopes of cutting any coldness left in the air, she sticks out a hand and offers a shake. Dark eyes stay on the other’s.
“ .. I’m Alopay. I can summon— don’t take the title the wrong way —creatures. “
Rude? She was the one who dragged him here! Link squared to release another biting remark, but as she sighed he recoiled his temper a bit. The following apology was unexpected, but it helped to further cool his jets. He eyed the presented hand for a moment, refraining to shake just yet.
“Creatures?” he asked, almost inaudibly, his nose scrunching. Not that he wasn’t a creature, but his preferred term was a bit more... specific. The initial shock of it all was beginning to wear off, and the monster began to rationalize his predicament. His gaze lifted to meet Alopay’s, still cautious, but less volatile.
The ape took her hand carefully into his own massive one and shook it slowly. His tentative voice followed.
“I’m Link.” He released his grip to rest his arms at his sides, but not to relax. “What kind of danger are we talking about, exactly?”
#(link was prepared to size up attitudes all day lol)#(and no worries! Happy you're back!)#~I can't wait any longer!~*queue#femlette#femlette;alopay

“Are we there yet?”
“For the thousandth time, no! We’re not there yet!”
“I get car sick.”
“I need to pee.”
“You should have gone before we left!”
“We should stop and ask for directions!”
“We don’t need to stop and ask for directions!”
“I think that was our exit!”
“Great! We missed our stop!”
“Ooh, souvenirs!”
“Are we lost?”
“We’re not lost!”
“We’re lost.”
“Where are we?”
“This is what you get for not stopping and asking for directions!”
“This is not my fault!”
“Why are we slowing down?”
“Are we running out of gas?”
“We’re out of gas.”
“Why is the car making that noise?”
“Why don’t we pull over and I’ll drive for a bit?”
“Why don’t you let me drive? You’re tired.”
“How long was I asleep?”
“I’m hungry.”
“Why don’t we play a game to pass the time?”
“This is going to be a long few days.”
“Can you turn the radio on?”
“Can you turn the radio off?”
“I love this song!”
“I hate this song!”
“Turn that light off, it’s distracting.”
“How much longer?”
“Oh, I spilled my drink everywhere.”
“Stop kicking my damn seat!”
“Put your shoes back on, you’re smelling up the whole car!”
“I want to go home!”
“That sunset is fantastic.”
“Wait, are we in a different time zone?”
“Do I look like I know how to fix a tire?”
“We should do this again.”
“We’re never doing this again.”

animalmagnetiisms:
Puss scoffed disdainfully. “Cop? Ha! No. I work alone. I am a hero, a protector of the innocent, but police-work is not exactly up my alley. For one thing, I require a certain kind of… freedom, if you know what I mean.”
That was to say the law was too… lawful, for Puss. But of course he didn’t go around telling that to strangers. His life and his reputation was complicated to say the least.
“I know exactly what you mean.” Link nodded, swiping his pointer finger for emphasis. He didn’t work alone, but being a special operative meant he had a special set of rules: Less rules. A certain amount of romping and roaring was tolerated, so long as the monsters got their target in the end, which they always did.
“You gotta have a little breathing room to work the magic,” he clarified, stretching his arms and cracking his knuckles.
“I can respect that.”

//Finch speaking!
Just a friendly update, because I've gotten a few anons lately of this nature.
I'm not really gonna answer anons along the lines of "what's up" or "how are you" because there's not really a lot to go off without any other context or a character attached. I really appreciate you taking the time to send Link something, but I want to write interesting replies that I would want to read.
I feel bad not answering them, especially without any notice, so there you go.
But again, thank you for sending!

Monsters and Hunters Sentence Starters
“Come out so I can kill you.”
“I’m getting paid good money to bring back your head.”
“This is my territory, human.”
“You /dare/ threaten me with mortal weapons?”
“I’d like to see you try and catch me.”
“I think we’re no longer the hunters, but the hunted.”
“You came for me woefully unprepared.”
“We’ll burn it out if we must.”
“How can a creature rumored to be large be so hard to track down?”
“It’s watching, isn’t it.”
“I’m not going to bargain with a mindless beast like you.”
“Fell for the easiest trick in the book.”
“Give it up, you’re trapped for good.”
“I think I hit it!”
“It’s bleeding back to its lair. We’ll trap it there.”
“You ought to have brought more than just yourself to hunt a creature like me.”
“It-it’s killed everyone else…”
“Only one of us is leaving this place alive.”
“This isn’t the usual habitat for a creature like this…”
“You’re a lot smaller than I was led to believe…”
“Where did it go?”
“I smell you, little hunter.”
“Come to kill me, have you?”
“Y-you can talk?!”
“You’re… okay you’re massive.”
“You’re definitely NOT a __”
“What are you?”
“Stand still long enough so I can kill you!”

matriarcarivera:
“A distraction?” Imelda repeated the palabra as if it was personally offensive. “I am not bait, something to ‘draw fire’. Why should I be the one that they are focusing on. I cannot be tranquillised, sí, but mis huesos can still break,” True, they usually healed extremely quickly when she did rarely injure herself, pero, she did not know if being well remembered would help her when she was stuck aquí on the wrong side of the bridge.
“And suppose you all leave but I cannot” She challenged further, “Your plan sounds as if you are willing to risk me being stuck here just so you can get out” She looked at link with a challenging glare, her hands resting on her hip bones. “And if I did distract them, did you not think it would make them heighten the security on you and not lessen it”
She sighed and shook her head before she began to pace, thinking up ideas herself. “Necesito recordar cosas de mi infancia….de la Revolución….”
Link threw his hands exasperatedly. "Well, there goes that plan," he huffed.
Who was she? Thinking she knew better. After 50 years in this place, and multiple close scrapes with freedom, you’d think he’d know a thing or two about how the base worked.
“I’ll be in my tank if you need me,” he spat, returning weight to his knuckles. He squinted an incredulous glare to Dr. Cockroach, hoping he’d agree the new inmate was being ridiculous. But he and the others were all still listening. Bob perhaps with a little too much intensity, probably just imitating the looks the others were giving her.
The ape scoffed so hard it rocked his shoulders forward.
“What, you’re gonna listen to her? What does she know?”
“Hush, Link. She might be on to something,” the doctor interrupted. A stern look from Susan didn’t escape his view either. Link sighed with an exaggerated roll of the eyes, but he stayed put. He trusted the other monsters. And if they thought she was making some sense, maybe he’d better listen.
#(Imelda is probably 100% correct but Link is going to be upset his ego is hurt)#(Doc and susan both heard revolucion and went hold up)#matriarcarivera#link speaks#(Susan probably would have told him to shove it as well but at this point she's still very new to prison and the other monsters)

animalmagnetiisms:
Being that one of his best friends was an ogre, and he was fairly good friends with several others, Puss quite rarely liked to use the word ‘monster’ to describe anyone these days… however, a part of him couldn’t help but agree with the term in this particular circumstance. “Yes, clearly,” the murmured response escaped him, in fact he hadn’t truly meant to say it aloud at all.
“I do not only look like a gato, I am one. But is true as well that I am no ordinary gato. I would say I am surprised you have not heard of me, but then I suppose you don’t look exactly… local to this kingdom. And I hope that you do not intend to cause trouble here, señor .”
What kind of trouble did he think Link would get into? He was slightly offended at the suggestion. Sure, maybe he’d give a few unsuspecting swimmers a scare, but nothing serious. He was on the right side of bars now, after all. Though he doubted any prison he could get thrown into here would compare to the base. Wherever he was looked kinda... old. Reminded him of a movie he didn’t pay attention to, knights and dragons and that sort of thing.
“Nah, I’m definitely not local,” Link assured. He glanced at his surroundings and gave a casual scratch to his abdomen. His shoulders lifted into a shrug as he concluded, “but I do get around.”
He noted the sword the cat carried with a half-interested squint. Maybe he was the one who dealt with troublemakers.
“You’re, uh, some kind of cop?”
#Link to himself; what is a gato#he understands exactly 0 spanish#(also he probably doesnt fully get what fairy tales are?)#(he's had very limited media exposure since the 50's)#link speaks#animalmagnetiisms#animalmagnetiisms; puss#~I can't wait any longer!~*queue

😡, 🤥, ⭐️, 🕷
Accepting: Send a symbol for a headcanon
😡 : What is your muse like when angry?
Link’s very broody when he gets angry. He grumbles to himself, he sulks, and usually needs some time alone to settle down. Occasionally he’ll have an outburst, but it’s usually just a few angry words before prowling off to sulk some more.
🤥 : Is your muse a good liar?
Not really (see the scene where he confronts the clone guard in the movie). He’s not a master wordsmith by any means, so he may stutter or pause as he thinks of what to say next.
⭐️ : What’s your muse’s one wish? He’s a simple monster. He wants nothing more than a day at the beach, relaxing, swimming, basking, scaring off tourists. That’s his ideal day. The only reason he didn’t run off to live on Cocoa Beach permanently once he gained his freedom is because he does actually enjoy kicking alien butt and he really loves his monster buddies.
🕷 : Does your muse have any phobias?I wouldn’t say they’re real phobias, but Link hates winter/the cold, and is TERRIFIED of clowns. He hates them. He doesn’t get why anyone would ever find them funny.

scienceroach:
🐛“I can think of someone,” he mumbled, more to himself than Link. He watched the other pull over the chair and adjust it - he himself was just sitting on his knees on the floor.
🐛“Where do you think I got the idea? I’m curious,” he asked in the pause. Hazel eyes focused on the other, reading him thoroughly. He himself was never good at emotions or body language, so he was interested to see what Link thought.
🐛“Yes, but I had to resort to one of the worst things one can do…if I really were as good as people say, I would’ve been able to do better…I killed him, Link. I killed Gallaxhar.” His voice fell soft, eyes moving to the floor next to him. He didn’t dare look Link in the eye.
🐛He awaited the other monster’s response.
“Why’s it matter where you got it?” he yawned, settling his elbow on the back of the chair. As far as Link was concerned, it didn’t matter what was eating at you so long as you ate it instead. First law of nature. It could apply here too, he supposed.
A soft groan escaped his mouth as Gallaxhar’s name hung in the air. Not in annoyance, but in shared reminiscence. It could be a rough subject for all of them sometimes.
“You killed someone who wanted to wipe out half the earth,” Link interjected. “Someone who killed Insectosaurus, tried to kill Suz, and us for that matter. I would’ve done the same thing.” He paused to adjust his position again. “We all would’ve. It was us or him, and you chose us. You chose everyone. It was the right thing to do.”
