Decided a while ago that I just Cannot be on tumblr anymore. It may not be a permanent goodbye, so I'm not deleting any of my blogs, but I'll be logging off again once this is posted and currently have no plans to log back in.

Attempts to get my mainblog unflagged, and to locate/access/preserve certain favorite original posts, have been unsuccessful. Which is both a slap to my face and a bit of a boot to my ass on my way out the door.

I had a really happy afternoon actually and it was 99.999% due to being aggressively unapologetically queer with someone I care about a lot — this, amid my mental illness making active attempts on my life —

so to all my queers who are scared to go to vigils or who are panicking over what bullshit military and/or rights-stripping government actions might happen over this or who are pissed as fuck about how our actual people are already somehow being erased from the narrative (again) or who don’t know what to do or who don’t know what to think

I’m gonna post cute/happy/sexy things and recount my orgasms like blessings and if my depression lets me leave the house tomorrow I’m gonna step out in leather, rainbows, and all the gayest shit I own and I will have on my person all the weapons I possess including foremost my glorious goddamn libido

If you were a child in 2007, which a great deal of people following my hell blog are, please consider taking the time to read the post and various reblogs below this one I am typing.

The history of the internet is tied together with the history of fandom, but fandom is not the only thing affected by censorship and purity culture.

This is where the drama and stress of tumblr’s ban on ‘adult content’ begins. This is why older members of tumblr in particular are angry.

I watched the events surrounding FFN, LJ, AO3, and Dreamwidth, but I would never be able to sum it up how the people in those other posts can. (edit: i shoulda linked this http://elevengrackles.tumblr.com/post/181061295443/prospectkiss-fierceawakening )

Tumblr has already reviewed (after flagging) and told LGBT+ content creators that their work, despite being non-sexual, and political or educational in nature, is sensitive content that needs to be removed. It begins.

This isn’t about pornography, it is about outright censorship and external pressure. It is just that tumblr has thinly and cleverly concealed it this way.

If you want to degrade people for being pissed off about a ‘porn ban’ please research the history of AO3 and Dreamwidth. After that, if you still feel like purity culture is the path you want to take, at least you can say you’re not ignorant of history.

It’s been a while and a lot has happened. Here’s a Spiderverse thing because that movie is just something else. Go watch it support it admire its stylistic choices and weep for the artists who probably cracked their brain over it (while having lots of fun)

Haven’t posted here in a while but this is special. Gonna be seeing a lot of spiderman from me between now and December, and then after that. This movie is gonna be mindblowing and artistically revolutionary and I cannot wait.
