Popeye meets Sindbad The Sailor (Classic Children Cartoon Film) In this short, Sindbad the Sailor (presumably Bluto playing a "role") proclaims himself, in song, to be the greatest sailor, adventurer and lover in the world and "the most remarkable, extraordinary fellow," a claim that is inadvertently challenged by Popeye as he innocently sings his usual song while sailing by within earshot of Sindbad's island with Olive Oyl and J. Wellington Wimpy on board. Sindbad orders his huge Roc, to kidnap Popeye's girlfriend, Olive Oyl, and wreck Popeye's ship, forcing him and Wimpy to swim to shore. Sinbad relishes making Olive his trophy wife, which is interrupted by Popeye's arrival. Sinbad then challenges the one-eyed sailor to a series of obstacles to prove his greatness, including fighting the Roc, a two-headed giant named Boola (an apparent parody reference to The Three Stooges), and Sindbad himself. Popeye makes short work of the bird and the giant, but Sindbad almost gets the best of him until Popeye produces his can of spinach, which gives him the power to soundly defeat Sindbad and proclaim himself "the most remarkable, extraordinary fella."A subtly dark running gag features the hamburger-loving Wimpy chasing after a duck on the island with a meat grinder, with the intention of grinding it up so that he can fry it into his favorite dish, but the duck not only escapes, but also snatches away Wimpy's last burger in retaliation when he gives up. Many of the scenes in this short feature make use of the Fleischer's "Steroptical Process", or "Setback Tabletop" process, which used modeled sets to create 3D backgrounds for the cartoon.

Popeye - Spree Lunch (Children's Cartoons)  229th theatrical cartoon, released in 1957. It is a Famous Studios production, the only one from them to give J. Wellington Wimpy a pivotal role. Yet, in the Famous way, characterization is diluted in favor of plot; neither Popeye nor Bluto are familiar to Wimpy and his mooching, with such activities in fact mostly absent.
Plot:  Popeye is seen setting up his newly opened diner, much to his joy. But just then, the mobile "Bluto's Diner" parks on a lot right across the street from "Popeye's Diner," to the latter's owner's disgust. As they confront each other, a prospective costumer, J. Wellington Wimpy, strolls by. He is quickly led to Popeye's establishment thanks to the red carpet treatment; however, Bluto lures him away to his with a sign that reads "5 beautiful waitresses". Popeye manages to divert him back to his place, however. Bluto gets him back by driving his restaurant-mobile through Wimpy's path then taking his order, a hamburger (Wimpy uses his catchphrase about paying "Tuesday for a hamburger today," yet there is little evidence of his dishonesty). Popeye then grabs the client away, stall and all, only to be sabotaged by Bluto's use of Mexican jumping beans to replace Wimpy's order. After bouncing back to Bluto's, the client is led away once again thanks to a magnet that makes his steak's plate slide all the way to Popeye's counter. Bluto recovers his customer by making Popeye sneeze, only for the latter to lead Wimpy away by the string of spaghetti he is eating. The two chefs begin to fight by tossing each other cooking utensils, food and furniture. Mr. Wimpy, in the middle of the street, is able to catch everything needed to sit down for a good meal.

Popeye - Parlez Vous Woo (English Children's Cartoons)  Olive is so captived by "The International", a radio personality with a French accent, that she'd rather stay home than go out on a date with Popeye. Bluto, overhearing this, comes to the door as the character. Popeye does his best to get Olive back, to no avail. Finally, Bluto challenges Popeye to a duel, ultimately stabbing him in the chest where his can of spinach was. Popeye unmasks Bluto, then eats another can of spinach to give himself a French accent.

Noveltoon - Naughty But Mice (Kids Cartoons)  Herman, the city-slicker mouse (looking like a cross between James Cagney and Lee Tracy) visits his barn-mice cousins in the country. There he sees that the barn also has a cat, and Katnip the Kat, is one mean dude who has put most of Herman's relatives on crutches and in slings, and even dispatched a couple of them to Mice Heaven. It is up to city-wise Herman to outwit the country-wise cat but the country cat has been to a couple of County Fairs himself, and proves to be nearly more than Herman can handle.

Popeye - Assault and Flattery (Cartoons For Children) 221st cartoon, released in 1956 by Famous Studios. It recycles footage from several earlier shorts from the same studio.
PLOT:  The oft-clobbered Bluto has sued Popeye for assault and battery, and the two must appear before the hamburger-gulping Judge Wimpy - Bluto covered in bandages and using a wheelchair. He falsely states to the judge that Popeye had assaulted him and Olive Oyl, only briefly describing a portion of The Farmer and the Belle so as to give a wrong impression. He then does the same with an even shorter look at How Green Is My Spinach to state that Popeye was acting like a madman. It is now Popeye's turn to recount a much-longer segment from A Balmy Swami, wherein he was humiliated by magician Bluto and Olive hypnotized, causing her to wander into a construction site and into danger - with Popeye saving the day thanks to his eating spinach. The court rules that Popeye is right, prompting Bluto to get rid of his fake bandages and wheelchair, using them as weapons to entrap his nemesis. The latter is able to squeeze out his spinach can, allowing him to break free and strike the perjuror with a mighty punch and then give him the look of a jailbird with the help of some paint over the big man's sailor suit.

Bugs Bunny - All This and Rabbit Stew (Animated Cartoon) is a one-reel animated cartoon short subject in the Merrie Melodies series,
PLOT: A black hunter walks over to a rabbit hole where Bugs is eating his carrots. Bugs is led to a trunk where he tricks the hunter into destroying the tree. Bugs distracts the hunter after introducing himself, and digs underground and when the hunter realizes that Bugs has his gun. Bugs has the hunter run far enough so he can go down the rabbit hole. Realizing that he has been had, the hunter uses a toilet plunger to catch Bugs. However, Bugs tickles the hunter and flees into another rabbit hole. The hunter grabs the plunger, only to find a skunk under him. Next, Bugs lures the hunter into a cave, where they encounter a black bear. All three of them run into the rabbit hole and when Bugs and the hunter realize the bear is in the hole, they run off in fright.Realizing that Bugs is on the hunter while walking, the hunter fires off a swarm of anthropomorphic birdshot bullets. In a madcap chase, the bullets chase Bugs into a series of holes, including a "fake" golf hole and the cave where the skunk is at. Bugs then lures the hunter into a log sitting on the edge of a cliff, through which the hunter runs numerous times (each time running to the other side as Bugs spins the log around so that the hunter keeps running off the cliff) until he falls to the ground. Bugs is confronted by the angered hunter and, in a desperate plea for his life, baits the hunter into playing what turns out to be a “strip” dice game. Bugs wins the game and walks off mocking the hunter's speech and wearing the hunter's clothes, leaving the man with a leaf covering his crotch to ad-lib “Well, call me Adam.” Bugs grabs the leaf during the "iris out".
