I'll Always Come Back to You (Phoenix Wright x reader)
in which Phoenix is overworking himself yet again and you won't stand for it anymore
Dating a lawyer wasn’t always the best. The abrupt phone calls interrupted much-needed alone time, the confidentiality of his work made small talk hard sometimes, and to your dismay, it seemed your boyfriend in particular took on every burden he came across.
You were reminded of these things as your phone rang during another dinner alone.
“Hello? Phoenix?”
“Hey, hon,” Phoenix’s clearly distraught voice said from the other end. “I’m probably going to pull an all-nighter tonight. Something really bad happened for my case, and I’m going to need to figure it out before court tomorrow.”
That work ethic is going to kill you one day, you think to yourself. “Do you need to talk about… wait, you can’t tell me anything.”
“Sorry, sorry,” Phoenix attempted a laugh. “I really need to get things sorted out on my end, for Maya’s sake.”
Maya. To say you were acquainted would be a severe understatement. That girl followed Phoenix around everywhere, and although you didn’t know the details, it was clear that she was in danger because of the case that Phoenix had taken. He was probably trying to carry the burden all by himself again, even though you told him you’d be happy to take some weight off his shoulders.
Finally, you sighed. “Phoenix, come home.”
“What?”
“You’re working yourself to the bone again,” you continued. “Come home and let me take care of you before you collapse in court from exhaustion.”
“But, Maya-”
“Would Maya want to see you like this?”
“You don’t even know what I look like right now.”
“I can make a pretty good guess.”
Silence.
You let out an exasperated huff. “Phoenix Wright, come eat a home-cooked meal and sleep in your own bed. If you can’t take care of yourself, how can you expect to take care of a client?”
“As if I want to take care of that prick.”
You held back a laugh. It was nice knowing that Phoenix could take off his filter when he was around you. “Then think of it as taking care of Maya,” you said.
More silence, and then a sigh. “Okay.”
“I’ll have dinner ready for you when you get back,” you finish, and then hang up. He’d better actually come home.
It was as soon as you were done cooking that you heard the front door unlocking. As it opened up, you were met with a worn-down Phoenix. His eyes had heavy bags, his hair was mussed and tangled, and his posture was so bad he looked about three inches shorter. You didn’t want to worry him even more, so you put on a smile and came up to him, placing a kiss on his scarily-low cheek.
“Good to see you, baby,” you said. “Get dinner while it’s hot.”
Despite his appearance, he still offered a warm smile to you before dragging himself to the kitchen.
Phoenix ate like a high school boy who just finished a sports game. His food was gone in mere minutes, his seconds and thirds following close behind. He barely gave you any time to brush his tangles out of his hair.
“So, Engarde’s a prick, huh?” you ask.
Phoenix scoffed. “You wouldn’t believe it. I’ve always been wary of celebrity personalities, but his is rotten to the core.” You tried not to pay attention to how Phoenix’s expression darkened when he talked about Engarde. Perhaps his client wasn’t the best choice for conversation.
“Man, your hair is a bird’s nest,” you say. “You need to take better care of it. I like those spikes, you know.”
You got a snort out of Phoenix from that comment, but his solemn expression didn’t go away. Poor guy, you thought.
It was almost like Phoenix read your thoughts, because he turned to you with a fake smile, saying, “I’m fine, love. This case is just a bit tough, that’s all.”
Nobody who looks like you do is “fine”, you said to yourself. Still, that wasn’t worth arguing over. You gave him a smile back, and patted his shoulders. “How about we head to bed? It’s almost midnight, and you have a big day tomorrow.”
Phoenix grunted as he got up from his chair. “I’ll get some sleep in a little bit,” he said. “I just need to work out some of the details in this case. You can go on to bed without me.”
Bullshit. He was trying to stay up all night anyway. Simply arguing with him wouldn’t work, and it wouldn’t be good for your relationship, either. There was only one way to get him to take care of himself.
“That’s okay. You stay up as long as you need to, but I’m going to stay up with you.”
You felt a little bit bad, guilt tripping him like this. Still, it was the only way to get him to go to bed. He could jeopardize his own health just fine, but you knew he wouldn’t want to jeopardize yours.
Phoenix continued to his desk. He really meant it, it seemed. Well, you meant it, too. You sat on the edge of the bed, staring at your boyfriend as he gritted his teeth, clutching his hair that you so lovingly untangled for him. He flipped through page after page, and when he was done, he went to the beginning and flipped through them again.
The task of staying up was grueling for you, too. Your eyes begged for you to close them, your head nodding up and down. Your eyesight began to blur, and it took more effort than usual to focus your gaze. Your limbs felt heavier, and your yawns became more frequent. Eventually, Phoenix looked over to you, his expression softening.
“I can see you starting to doze off,” he said. “I appreciate the gesture, but you don’t have to stay up with me.”
“I’m not doing this as a gesture,” you said. “I’m making sure you take care of yourself. If you want me to get good sleep, you’re going to have to get good sleep yourself.”
Phoenix clicked his tongue. He looked down at his papers, then back at you. You stifled a yawn.
“You won’t last long.”
“We’ll see about that.”
Phoenix went back to his work, and you forced yourself to stay awake. A few more minutes of rustling papers, and Phoenix hung his head low. “Fine. You win.”
You gave him a smile. “That’s good. I’m sure you’re more tired than I am.”
You watched as Phoenix turned off his desk lamp, climbing into bed with you. You positioned him so his face was buried in your neck as you combed through his hair with your fingers. There were already tangles in it again. You kept yourself awake until you could feel Phoenix’s body relax and truly drift off to sleep, then let your own eyes close as you went off to dreamland with him.
The next morning, you awoke with empty arms. You grunted, then stretched your arms out, slowly rising from your pillow. A familiar noise rung through your ears: the rustling of papers.
“You’re already working on the case again, huh?” you asked. You turned to look at Phoenix, who nodded in reply.
“I have to consider things from every angle. My mind feels refreshed now, so I can’t spare any of my brain power until this case is over. I’ll repay your kindness some other time, I promise.”
You gave a small smile. “You’ve done more than enough to deserve that kindness in the first place.” You got up from your bed, walking to the kitchen. “I’ll make you a quick breakfast.”
And so, your morning felt very similar to your night. You stood behind Phoenix, brushing his hair, as he ate breakfast with one hand and flipped through court records with the other. Eventually, he got up, and planted a kiss on your forehead. “I’ve gotta go now,” he said, stuffing papers into his briefcase. “I love you.”
Right before he rushed out the door, you yelled, “Phoenix!”
He stopped, turning to look at you. His face was littered with crumbs and his tie was far too loose. You slowly approached him, grabbing his tie first.
“I love you, Phoenix,” you said. You pulled the tie up to his neckline. “Whatever happens in that trial today, I will still love you.” You grabbed a napkin nearby and wiped his face. “So you have to promise that you’ll let me take care of you if you need it, okay?”
For the first time since last night, Phoenix gave a genuine smile. “I promise. I promise I’ll come back to you.” He leaned in to give you a soft peck on the lips. “Always. Now, I’ve really got to go. I’ll be late if I wait around any longer.”
Your smile finally wasn’t forced. “Okay, okay. Good luck!”
And with that, Phoenix left, closing the door behind him.

Hello everyone! The school semester is finally over, so I have more time to focus on my writing! It's also my birth month, so I figured now would be a great time to announce some changes that are going to be happening (don't worry, all good things!)
First of all, SMUT IS ON THE MENU!! All requests must be for characters aged 18 and up. I will also tag smut fics as #nsft
Speaking of, the minimum age for romantic requests has gone down. I will write romantically for characters 13+ now! I will still write platonically for characters of all ages!
And finally, I'm adding two new fandoms to my list, Space Dandy and Lupin III! Expect some fics for those characters in the future :)
As always, thank you for reading my works, and look forward to my fics in the making!

Jotaro x Chubby Reader Headcanons
-I think Jotaro’s the type that really doesn’t care about body type at all
-As cliche as it may sound, the most important thing to him is personality
-But don’t let it be unsaid that he loves you AND your body, not in spite of it
-Favorite thing is laying down on your tummy or thighs and falling asleep on you
-If you start to feel self-conscious about anything, he’ll tell you that you don’t need to worry about it
-“The people who judge you are stupid. You’re living life just fine, right? Then don’t worry about it.”
-He’s not great at giving encouragement. He’s trying his best
-And of course, I am a firm believer in Jotaro throwing hands for the ones closest to him for whatever reason he needs to-And that means if he sees someone making fun of you then that person’s not gonna be able to walk for long

Life After an Adventure (Platonic Jotaro x Reader)
You didn’t really know what to say to him. I mean, what could you say to him? You just so happened to be in the nurse’s office that day, and just so happened to have a Stand like him. It just so happened that your Stand was helpful against Hierophant Green, and you just so happened to feel the call to adventure when Jotaro asked if you wanted to join him and his group. Now, fifty days later, you gained physical and mental scars, formed a bond with that group unlike any other, and felt the pain of losing some of those bonds. And now you had to assimilate into high school again.
It seemed like your friends had taken notice of your frequent glances over to Jotaro at lunch. One of them bumped you and said, “He’s the hardest one to get, you know.”
“Yeah!” another said. “I thought you hated him!”
The last one gave you a smile. “You both disappeared and reappeared at school at the same time. Could it be that you two… spent some time together?” They wiggled their eyebrows.
“Oh, come on, it’s not like that!” You gave the one nearest to you a little shove. “We did travel together, but he was still annoying. It’s just that I don’t even know what to say to him after all we went through.”
“How about this:” one of them flung her arm around your shoulder. “Hey, Jojo! Man, that was crazy, huh? That thing I haven’t told my friends about? Anyway, you should join us for lunch!”
You gave your friend a deadpan. “You just want to get closer to him yourself, don’t you?”
She gave you a sheepish smile.
“Wait, wait, he’s coming!” Another friend said. He pointed to Jotaro, who had stood up and started walking to you while you weren’t looking. Your friends hid behind you as you looked Jotaro in the eyes.
“Yo,” you said. Jotaro gave you a nod. Once you finished that exchange, silence fell upon you again, with only the distant chatter of others to fill your ears. Your friends slowly peeked out from behind you, hesitantly going back to their seats.
“Wanna sit?” you asked.
Without answering, Jotaro moved to the seat next to you, getting out his lunch. You shrugged and sat down.
The only sounds you and your friends made were from chewing your food. To your left was Jotaro, eyes hidden behind his hat, and to your right were your other friends, each looking straight down at their lunches. You didn’t know what to do, either. Do you talk to your friends and hope Jotaro joins in? Do you talk to Jotaro and hope your friends join in? Do you just have two different conversations at once? The awkwardness was agonizing.
“So…” you finally said, “Jotaro, do you want to help me tell my friends about what we did while we were away from school?”
Your friends’ eyes lit up.
Jotaro shrugged. “Do they know what Stands are?”
“They know I have special powers.” You turned to your friends. “So, I’ve told you how my power has a visible form, right? It’s called a Stand, and I’m not the only one with powers like these. There was a really bad guy with a Stand, and we fought to take him down.”
“He was a vampire who haunted my family for generations,” Jotaro added.
“A vampire?” One friend leaned forward in his seat to look at Jotaro, who only nodded in reply.
“He was all the way in Egypt, so we took an international road trip to go fight him,” you added.
As the conversation kept going, you found yourself enjoying the story you were telling. Going on and on about each and every fight, each person you met, and all of the times you had, good and bad. You hardly even noticed that the bell rang to go back to class.
“You guys totally have to finish the story sometime!” a friend said. “I need to know what happened to that baby that Kakyoin was tormenting!”
“We will!” you said, smiling as you waved your friends goodbye and went to class. Jotaro and you had the same class, so you walked back together.
A few moments had passed, and your once fluttering heart suddenly felt crushed. You could feel your smile disappearing and tears forming in your eyes. Your nose was suddenly stuffed up, and you couldn’t help but sniffle to try to clear it.
Jotaro looked over at you. “What happened to you that made your mood change so quickly?”
You looked up, surely with puffy eyes. You started to laugh at Jotaro’s unchanging expression. Of course he wouldn’t understand.
“Sorry, sorry,” you said with an unconvincing smile. “I know you don’t like when people cry around you. It’s just… it’s finally settling in that what happened to us was real. It almost felt like a dream when I first came back home.”
Jotaro nodded. “Especially after coming back to school and carrying on as usual.”
“But… it wasn’t a dream,” you continued. “You spoke with me on the events that happened. We both experienced it. And that means… that means Kakyoin did too. And Avdol, and even Iggy! It means they were real, and… and they really died.” Before you knew it, tears were streaming down your face. You were gasping for air in each breath, and your legs felt ready to collapse at any moment. “They didn’t deserve that! They were good people! Why did they have to die?”
As you were sobbing, you heard Jotaro sigh. You looked back up at him, noticing his arms were wide open and he was facing you. You didn’t hesitate to wrap your arms around him, crying into his shirt. “I miss them,” you said quietly. He slowly returned the hug, just barely squeezing you.
“Okay, that’s enough.” Jotaro suddenly pushed you off of him, exposing your tears to the harsh world again. The shock of it stopped them immediately, though, as you processed what had just happened. Then, you began to laugh again.
“Man, you’re an asshole, you know that?” Your voice still wavered like you were crying, and your eyelashes were still stuck together, but your smile had returned. “You may not be a complete asshole, but you’re still an asshole.”
“Well, if you’re done crying, then let’s get to class,” he said. “Teach might not like it if we're late after being gone for so long.”
You sniffled again, and nodded. “I'm surprised you’re the one wanting to get to class on time.”
“Yeah, well, my mom’s gonna cook tonight and if I have to stay late for detention, I’ll be late.”
“Mama’s boy.”
Jotaro huffed, but he stayed silent after that. The two of you kept walking silently to class, until Jotaro spoke again, very quietly.
“Make sure to cry enough for me, too.”
You smiled. “Anything for a friend, Jojo.”

Chaka Relationship Headcanons
-Look, we don’t know much about this guy, but we can infer a few things.
-First of all, he seems nice (before he was possessed), which makes for a wonderful boyfriend.
-Second of all, his father(? I think that was his father) is very strict, so your love will certainly be forbidden.
-A forbidden romance with a dedicated man makes for a wonderful story, but these are relationship headcanons, not forbidden romance headcanons.
-Anyway, back to the task at hand.
-Let’s say we didn’t have any of that “forbidden lovers” in the romance. Still a wonderful guy.
-Is there a task that’s too heavy for you? He’ll take care of it! (even if he can’t)
-Expect him to be doting for sure.
-He can be timid at first, but just give him time and he’ll be showering you with affection.
-You might have to be his spine sometimes if someone is pushing him around. Don’t let him be okay with that, you know?
-But I also think that timidness would leave his body if anyone messed with you.
-Overall, great boyfriend, 10/10, certified datable hunk.

Drunken Words Reveal Sober Thoughts (Phoenix Wright x Reader)
YAY my first Phoenix fic. I’ve been in love with him for a while this should’ve happened a lot sooner.
You should’ve drunk more that night.
Some friends of yours from the detective squad decided to go to a bar, and invited you with them. You had work the next day, but decided to go anyway and keep the drinking light. But that was the problem: while you were trying to avoid a hangover tomorrow, everyone else was drinking the night away.
As you try to find someone to talk to, you pass by many of the invitees. Detective Gumshoe was teetering back and forth, telling some tall tale to Maggey, Officer Marshall was making some dubious threats to someone you didn’t recognize, and Prosecutor Edgeworth… was… was he drinking tea? There wasn’t a hint of flush on his face. Although you were initially relieved to finally find someone to talk to, you weren’t drunk enough to forget that doing that was a bad idea.
Just as you were about to look on the other side, someone else catches your eye: Phoenix Wright. The two of you had talked before, mostly exchanging information about a trial you were both working on, but it was hardly enough to even call the two of you work acquaintances. Still, it didn’t stop you from falling head over heels for him, much to your dismay.
Wright was talking to a man you could’ve sworn you’d seen before, but had no clue where. The other man didn’t matter all that much, anyway. You couldn’t help but be drawn in by Wright’s drunken complexion. His hazy eyes seemed to glimmer from the neon lights around the bar, and the blush on his cheeks complimented his face perfectly.
You snapped yourself out of it. You were being creepy, staring at some guy you hardly knew! What if he caught you? How would your work relationship suffer? Plus, he was drunk! People shouldn’t be cuter than usual when they’re drunk!
Sighing, you decide to go outside for some fresh air. You were in no position to be anywhere near Wright at the moment, as you could let your feelings be known without even meaning to. You knew that bottling them up like this was bad in the long run, but it would be worse if every single case you were both working on was awkward.
God, what am I supposed to do?
“Whoa.”
A familiar voice pulled you out of your thoughts. You turned your head to see Wright staring right at you, mouth agape. In his hand was a bottle of beer, but it was quickly dropped and forgotten about.
Was this it? Was Wright about to confess? Would you finally get to be free of the heartache you felt every time you see him? Would you and Phoenix finally enter a relationship?
“You look exactly like this detective I work with! That’s crazy!”
Oh.
“Really?” You ask, feeling too awkward to reveal your true identity to him.
“Well, I say that I work with them, but it’s really more…”
You stopped listening once Wright started explaining your work relationship, losing yourself in your own thoughts again. It seemed that he was the forgetful type when drunk, and painfully unaware. Of course. Why would you think that he was going to tell you that he liked you? Why would he feel that way about you? You barely know each-
“I mean, I’d love to be closer than we are right now, though. After all, I have a huge crush on them.”
What?
WHAT?
Did Wright just say he had a crush on you? Just like that? To a supposed stranger?
“Oh?” you asked, trying so hard to hide your excitement.
“Yeah, huuuuuge crush. Like this big.” Wright stretched his arms out as far as he could, and almost slapped you in the face. “I mean, I’m head over heels for this one.”
And now, Phoenix was describing everything about you as if you were a Greek sculpture. Every single word he spoke had love poured into it as he went into detail about what he liked about you. He wasn’t great with his words as drunk as he was, but you didn’t care.
“You know, sometimes I look at their lips and I wonder what they’d feel like against mine,” Phoenix said. The way his gaze was suddenly fixated in the distance meant he was probably zoned out, thinking about it right now.
You decided to shoot your shot.
“Well, what if you kissed me?” you asked. “I look exactly like this person, right? My lips would probably feel the same as theirs.”
Phoenix shook his head. “No, sorry. I want to save it for them, once I finally tell them.”
Although the irony of that statement wasn’t lost on you, you were more focused on the loyalty of it. Phoenix, a man you weren’t dating yet, was saving his kiss for you. And here you were, pretending to be someone else, trying to steal it prematurely while he was drunk.
Oh, god. Wright was drunk. You were drunk. You just asked if Wright wanted to kiss you. You were both drunk. You had work in the morning. You had a healthy work relationship with Wright. You tried to kiss him.
“I think I should head home,” you suddenly spoke out, almost involuntarily. “It was nice to meet you. Goodbye.”
“See ya,” was all he said as you hailed a taxi to be driven home.
***
You were glad you didn’t drink more that night.
It was a bright, sunny day, and although you had a small headache, some pain medication would fix your issue right away. You were walking down to the precinct to clock in for work, but you decided to make a detour first. Gumshoe said it was right next to that hotel, right?
Eventually, you found the building you were looking for, and then the office inside of there. You took a deep breath, then knocked on the door. As it opened, you were greeted with… a girl. She had straight, black hair, partially tied up in a bun, and a purple robe. This wasn’t who you were expecting.
“Welcome to Wright and Co.,” the girl said. At least you were at the right place. “Sorry, Nick’s a little tied up right now. He said he probably got food poisoning from the restaurant he went to last night, and so he’s been in and out of the bathroom.”
Restaurant. Food poisoning. Right.
If this girl didn’t know why Wright was really in the bathroom, then this is a conversation you needed to have out of her earshot. “That’s okay,” you said. “Is it alright if I wait for him in the other room?”
“Sure!” the girl said. You went into the next room, closing the door behind you.
It wasn’t too long before Wright came to talk, but as soon as he opened the door and saw you, his face went pale. He remembered.
“Look, about what happened last night, I’m-”
As Wright was rambling, you suddenly stood up. You didn’t really mean to, nor did you mean to walk up to him and grab his necktie, pulling him into a kiss. It ended as quickly and abruptly as it began, though, as you quickly pulled away and sat back down.
“I’ve had a crush on you for a while, actually,” you said, quieter than usual. “I’m sorry that I didn’t tell you who I was last night, but once you started talking about me, I just wanted to keep listening to you talk about me. If I’m honest, that was the most I’ve really felt loved recently.” You finally looked back up at Phoenix, who was giving you a thousand-yard stare, hands hovering over his lips.
The realization kicked in.
“Oh, my god,” you whispered. “I kissed you. I… oh my god. I’m so sorry! I… that… I’m… it wasn’t… that wasn’t professional! I’m so, so sorry! I just got so caught up in my emotions, I didn’t even…”
As you were rambling, you were suddenly cut off by Phoenix’s lips against yours. This kiss, however, lasted a bit longer, and the pull-away was softer than before.
“Don’t worry,” Phoenix told you, his voice softer than before. “I won’t press charges or anything.” He let out a small laugh. The way he laughed at his own jokes made you involuntarily speak again.
“Dinner tonight?”
Phoenix seemed just as stunned as you were that you asked so bluntly. “Uh… yeah, sure! Anywhere specific you wanna go?”
“What if we walked around… holding hands… and we decided then?”
As soon as you said that out loud, you cringed. What were you, a grade-schooler? Phoenix didn’t seem to mind, though, as he said, “Yeah, that sounds like a plan,” through stifled laughter.
“You’re laughing at me!” you cried out, laughing yourself.
“Sorry!” Phoenix released the laugh he was holding. “It was just unexpected!”
As the two of you calmed down, you stood up again. “Should I meet you here after I’m done with work?” you asked.
Phoenix nodded. “I’ll be waiting!”

ok. Rebranding is done. And I’ve also devised a plan for opening and closing requests. That is, once my request count hits 16, I open them up, and when it hits 32, I close them.
That being said, I have 9 requests right now, which means… requests are open again!!
And that’s not all. Since the last closure of requests, I’ve watched more anime and played more games. And I’ve gotten crushes on some characters from those games and anime. Which also means…
I’m adding Mob Psycho 100, One Punch Man, and Ace Attorney to my fandom list!
I look forward to writing for all of you!!
