Here let me show you!! First, because I got this one first, this is my quote on quote 'BEST' bracelet, as you can see! It was a very thoughtful gift from my friend Ser…I'm not sure if he's here this year-he'd probably be working too at this rate, but if he was, Id show him how I've taken good care of it since!

But it is not to be mistaken with my other best bracelets or should I say, BEST FRIEND bracelets!

These ones, Clares made for me! Well, this is just a couple of them- she's sent me one every single year since we first befriended one another here. Look at them though!! Isn't that awesome??? You should see what I made for her! OH!! In fact, I've GOT to make something to commemorate this year at camp too.

Cry??? Why would I cry??? Can't you see how happy I am I right now? I can't do anything but smile!! Ha-ha!!

Ahem! …sorry, what was the rest of your question? Ah! …Hm! Y'know, I never thought of it like that!

…Some do say: 'home is where the heart is' but I don’t think its accurate for me to say I keep my heart right here specifically, because my heart goes wherever I go! 

That being said, does Weehawken qualify as a home away from home…? I think so!! So if I had my own spare heart I can definitively say that this is the place I would keep it!

Name: Cheap Pronouns: He/Him Age: 20 Height: 6′2″ Role: Photography/Scrap-booking Instructor Personality Traits: Although he easily gets very high strung and nervous, Cheap is generally very peppy and has tons energy and charisma. He aims to come across as cool and collected but he rarely succeeds. He tends to say very goofy sounding things he is 100% serious about. He values hard work, 'giving it your all' and the inherent value of handcrafted and significant items. Although Cheap appears to never need any external validation from how full of himself he acts, that couldn't be further from the truth. Even the simplest compassionate gestures can mean the world to him. Where Cheap used to be more abrasive and closed off, being to camp a few times over with people he came to really like and learning how consider other’s feelings better has softened him up a lot.

General info: This is Cheap's 3rd time at camp! Or is it the fourth? In truth, some years he spent at camp are a bit of a blur, but he generally remembers having a blast. Camp Weehawken is probably his most favourite place on earth, and yet for years he has kept to only his memories of camp instead of making new ones...That is, until now! One more year at Camp Weehawken couldn't hurt, right? Cheap has taken on the position of Photography/Scrap-booking instructor to help today's campers record their memories for tomorrow!  Working at camp has the added bonus of letting him back on the premises of camp to reminisce and reconnect with old friends. Like most young ones of the Once-ler name, he has held the ambition to start his own company for years. It just hasn't gotten off the ground yet! But he’s getting there, honest! Cheap is an avid knitter, enjoys singing and playing the harmonica and has a hobby for collecting all kinds of things; but buttons are his absolute favourite.

Summer: 2022

[An old pickup truck weaves through the backwoods of Weehawken in the dead of night.]

[The windows are rolled down, allowing the passage of summer’s finale number; crickets chirping, wind ruffling the leaves of full trees. Only the hum of the vehicle and the beat of bumps on the winding road break the silence.]

[That is...until the driver of the truck hears another another sound- No, another rising song dancing on the cool breeze.]

[He thinks he might be imagining it, but it persists. It’s...singing. And it’s laughter and excited chatter. It comes to him from far off in the distance but its unmistakable.]

[A glance through the side window is all it takes to step down hard on the breaks. He fumbles the gear stick into park. He blinks a few times to clear up his sight and squints out into the dark at a distant light. [He should have expected this, probably, but he just can’t help but wonder, in a state of disbelief;]

[’Is that what he thinks it is?’] [He switches the engine off with a turn of his hand and his surroundings fall into darkness. And when he steps out, he’s greeted with a sight the likes of which he hasn’t seen in years.]

[It all comes rushing back. Falling from his lips without a second thought, he enters into duet with the song that passes over the trees surrounding Camp Weehawken.]

“-...you’ll...be talking. Cause Once just isn’t enough.”

(OOC: In honour of Camp Weehawken’s return, I wanted to post this memento I commissioned from the talented Gorespear!! They did an INCREDIBLE job putting this mockup together that shows a few pages of Cheap’s treasured Camp Weehawken scrapbook and the memories within.

I must also again give credit again to Mads for their absolutely fantastic and unendingly joyous fanart of Cheap and Clara together at the dance as it’s been featured in this piece! It is forever so dear to my heart ❤)

Cheap: What? You don’t--I mean, I’m Cheap! I remember you, Monster Kid! We knit together and everything? Okay. I get that i’m probably a lot shorter than you remember, but still, but still! Most folks knew who I was right off the bat.

Rich: ...You’re interesting. I like your lizard... My name is Rich.

Cheap: ...grrrreaat...A cat....

Cheap: .......Achoo!

Rich: ......

Cheap: ohhh noooo! Achoo! It looks like-- ACHOO I’m allergic to cats!! Achooey!!!

*grins* I mean, the weather is nice, camp looks nice…it’s just all very very nice.

Cheap: *sighs helplessly* I suppose…it…really sounds weird when you put it that way but I guess it’s true…..*appears disturbed for a moment*

-knocks on cabin door and slowly opens it- Cheeeaaap..! You in here? Rich said I could find you here...?

Cheap: *hearing the sound of yet another familiar voice, Cheap grumbled and tossed the blanket off of himself.*

YES….*he answered Danny in a defeated tone. He flung himself down on the bottom bunk, (Which was actually Rich’s)*

And guess what! You don’t even need to ask, cause I’m gonna tell you up front; it’s me, Cheap. Yeah, I’m…”smaller”. Don’t know how, don’t know why. *he let out a long sigh and settled a bit* Nice to see you, Danny…

Cheap: *gives an exasperated sigh* Just...ignore that guy. He’s literally the worst. I guess you heard he’s calling himself Rich? At least he’s not asking people to call him Cheap. Now that would be confusing...

Rich: Why would I want to be called something so insulting? ...wait. *he looks contemplative*

Cheap: ??? Don’t consider it??? That’s my name you weirdo!!!

Rich: I really think you should know better, being that you’re so “responsible” *obvious sarcasm drips from his voice*
