You're not wrong there, aren't you considered old and ready to retire by the time you're thirty? I get that it's a very athletic job, but I know a lot of people who are well into their forties who could still run around on a pitch for ninety minutes. Don't you guys get an off season so you can actually enjoy yourself and not worry about injuries?
That is true. That and a football career isn't that long when you think about it. That is why I am making the most of it. I do go skiing. It is just that the children go more than I do. I don't really want to injure myself doing that and not being able to play.

Good, and you should definitely keep it that way. Just know that it was just shock, plastered across my face the entire time. I didn't know if he was just doing the best American accent, or the best British one and trying to trick me. It should be a law that Australia cannot produce a movie or tv show without the Irwins being a part of it in some form. Which may be pretty impossible, but if anyone can do it, it's them. And those residuals will keep them going. That's why it's all about balance, because you need the time off. Trust me, just constantly working isn't good for you. So, if you're going to take any advice from an old man, let it be that. We definitely managed to get it looking somewhat festive, some people might say different, but it works for us. Morocco? Now that's not a bad place to be working, how long are you there for? I don't blame you for turning that into a vacation, I would have done the same. I didn't, even if I'm in LA I don't tend to celebrate it. Unless I'm invited to something, I don't go out of my way to plan anything.
In your defense, I don't think I've ever heard your American accent, so I can't really judge. I'm sure you're not the only one that had that same reaction, but I also kind of wish you had photographic evidence of your face in that very moment. Because I can only imagine the confusion painted in your expression. They really are our royal family. Even if they don't want to be on screen, maybe they can hook us up with some qualified animal handlers that do want some screen time. I try not to take too much time off in between projects for that very reason. I can do a couple months off, but anything more than that I start to go a little crazy and need to occupy my time with work. I'm sure between you and the kids, you guys will have the place decorated and looking up to North Pole standards in no time. I was in Sydney visiting my family for a few days, but now I'm in Morocco for the Marrakech Film Fest and turning it into a small vacation while I'm here. Did you do anything to celebrate Thanksgiving this year?

I guess it's not like she's a criminal or anything, they had no reason not to like her. Japan is a beautiful place, where abouts in Japan did you go? Only if you want to do it the right way, since you seemed to be so against being smuggled into the country. We can keep it an open marriage, although I don't know how you're going to get Sabrina into the country. I don't think the visa extends to my husband's girlfriend. I don't know, your plan seems flawed, because either way, you look like an idiot, and that's just not my style.
Thanksgiving was amazing - taking Sabrina back home - I wasn't nervous at all. The family loved her. And then we went to Japan for a little bit for a vacation. Are you saying that I'm going to become Mr. Hemsworth? I can't wait - everyone is going to be jealous of me getting such a good looking husband. Then you act clueless and say that you saw it in the shop and thought that they'd like it. Smart thinking.

Don't I make you feel special? Because I think I've made you feel special a lot. Over and over again as a matter of fact. Okay good, because I would hate to not be the one you call when you need those adult interactions. That's newborns for you, they have very little consideration for your well being. I just meant more in general, I haven't actually done anything stupid, not yet anyway. My life has actually been very boring, it's just me and the kids. What are your plans for Christmas? Are you going back to Australia?
You only guess you can? Damn, Chris. You know how to make me feel real special here. I promise that it's not going to become a habit cause I do need some adult interaction, otherwise I might actually go insane. Noah is doing amazing - even if there's very little sleep involved. He's a chonker, loves to eat and all that. How've you been an idiot? Sounds like I've missed a little bit here. Mostly just preparing for Christmas and getting back into work next year.

They do say that while you can spent years building up your career, you can lose it overnight. Which isn't what we want to hear, but it makes you appreciate what you have. My dude, you have to switch out the ball for the skis, it's so much fun. Once you get the hang on it, you're flying down the slopes. Although I prefer snowboarding, so maybe we should get you a board.
Exactly. I worked so hard to be where I am and it is also a job that doesn't go on forever. Maybe it is. But I don't get to go back to the UK as often as I would like to so I make the point of going over. I have gone skiing before. My children have been doing that when I am working. They love it.

You have a newborn, so I guess I can forgive you. Just, don't make it a habit okay? I'll start thinking you don't like me. How is the little guy doing? How are the sleepless nights? Have you started hallucinating yet? I'm good, I can't say you've missed much, I've mainly just been doing what I do best, being an idiot. What about you?
Sorry that I've kind of fallen off the radar a little bit. You know, new baby and all that. Trying to figure out how to balance parenthood is interesting. But I shouldn't be ignoring friends. Probably. How're you, Chris? What have I missed in your life? @chcmswvrth

That's the good thing about this industry, we're all doing what we love and so it very rarely feels like work. Maybe Germany is the place to be at Christmas. I have to admit I do like the snow, even though I hate being cold. Have you ever gone skiing before?
That is the issue with that. But then again, football means a lot to me so I don't not do it unless there is a very good reason for me not to. We do have snow in the UK, now and again. But not really at Christmas. If I am being honest, I have seen more snow in Germany than I have seen in the UK.

By yourself? Where was my invite? I don't even celebrate Thanksgiving so I was free, dude. I would have happily had shown up to help you eat all the food you made. The leftovers are the best bit, there's so many things you can do with them. You could spice it up by making a stew, or sandwiches, the options are endless.
for my first thanksgiving by myself i don't think i did too bad. i made a turkey breast, followed a few recipes for different sides, and realized i made far too much for just myself. guess that means i'm going to be eating a lot of leftovers for the next few days. does anyone else find themselves more excited for the leftovers than the original dish? @hhhqstarter

That's the only issue with being in this industry, we can't just ring in sick for work, if we want to ditch for something else. Is the UK a country that often snows around Christmas? Since it's always summer at Christmas in Australia, I want to experience snow at Christmas.
A day off work? You do realize if I didn't go to training and then they realize I am spending my time there, I wouldn't get away with that. Haha. I am when we have the international break. But I still get to go over to the UK when I have enough time off. We will be spending time in the UK over the holidays.

In their defence, your American accent is pretty believable, unlike my own. Which is why I tend to just do Australian, or some form of it. You should have seen my face when I realised Christian Bale was British, I spent the entire time in shock every time he spoke. Oh it wouldn't be a true, authentic Australian movie if the Irwins weren't involved. They're our royal family. I can't see them turn down an opportunity like this. Even if they didn't want to be on camera, we need wranglers to keep an eye on the crocs and train them. It definitely is a shock when you go back to work after a long break. I took months off, and definitely felt it when I was back on set. But, it didn't take long to ease back into it, and luckily the kids are usually with me, I don't miss them too much. You just have to find the sweet spot, that perfect balance between work and rest that suits you. Usually, my ex wife does most of the decorating, and I do the heavy lifting. But, this year it's just me and the kids, and so it's going to be interesting to see how the decks look when we're finished. Were you in LA over Thanksgiving? Did you do anything for it?
I’m pretty sure that for a good chunk of my career, no one realized that I’m Australian. Because the moment I go on a talk show, I just noticed how so many of the comments on the videos are, “OMG he’s Australian???” So clearly I need to start hanging around you more and really embrace my Australian roots. I feel like it’s a requirement for the Irwins to make a cameo in this film. At least, if they’re down for it. Which they seem pretty cool, so I feel like they’d be on board for sure. Sometimes I’m afraid that after too long of a break, it would be a bumpy transition getting back into the swing of everything again. Plus I feel like with too much time off, I’d probably get stir crazy and possibly even bored. I’m not sure, I really haven’t put too much thought into it just yet. I figure I’ll play it by ear and decide on a whim as I browse through flights or something. That’s fair. There are some people who claim it’s Christmas the moment the clock strikes midnight on November first. I don’t mind starting Christmas at the very end of November if you want to get a head start on decorating. Bu for the most part, I’m a Christmas in December kinda guy too.

No, still sounds like excuses to me. You know when it will be happening, you can book the day off work. Do you do a lot of back and forth between the UK and Germany? Will you be spending Christmas in the UK?
It is a good excuse if I was back in an English team and there wasn't time for me to get over to it. But at least for the next two and a bit seasons, I will be here. Just let me know and I will make sure you will have me to go there with. It might not be but when we go back to the UK we need somewhere to stay.

How did Thanksgiving go? I hope everything went okay, bringing someone home to meet the family for the first time and either make or break a new relationship. Is it really smuggling you into the country if we get married and you legally become a citizen. Even though you still have to go through all the normal regulations, but still. What if you forget who regifted it to you and you end up gifting it them back?
Things are going great - bringing her to meet the family for Thanksgiving. And now that she's done with tour, for a little bit we're not going to have to do the whole long distance thing. Are you trying to smuggle me into Australia or something there? I'm going to have to find a hiding place. Cause I did quite like the place when I was filming there. As long as you don't tell them it's a regift, they're going to love it. Smart thinking on my part.

I mean, it could have been funny if I did know the person, but unfortunately I didn't. We're just in our own little world that people forget about us and how big it actually is. See, this is why you need to stick with me, mate. I'll have you being an Aussie in every movie that you do. I had perfected it so well that for a while, all my projects were even filmed in Australia, I never had to leave. Just two guys, in the outback, riding crocodiles and kangaroos as they fight for survival, just the normal stuff we get up to. Since having kids, I definitely tried to slow down. Then I took a long break recently, but it's been great getting back into it. You really should, I think at this point you've earned a vacation. Any ideas on where you would want to go? I haven't, Christmas doesn't start in the Hemsworth household until at least the first week of December. I'm not a Christmas in November kind of guy.
That's how people assume it works. They also probably have no idea how big Australia is and it's not like everyone on the continent knows everyone. Honestly, I don't think I've ever used my real accent in any of my films. At least, not that I can remember at the moment. I like where this is going. What's the premise for this extremely Australian film exactly? The work/life balance can be difficult, especially when you have so much packed into a daily schedule. Luckily I have the rest of the year to just chill out and enjoy the holidays. Maybe take a vacation or two if I feel like it. I don't even want to think about Christmas yet. My mind can't comprehend that November is almost over, when it literally just started like yesterday. Have you started preparing for Christmas yet?

You're not supposed to admit it's conditional! What a sure way to break my heart Ayo, I'm crying over here. You have a reputation, I think mine is fucked at this point. That's exactly it, I saw the rings and instantly thought, they would be fun to race around on with dirt bikes. Just ignore the fact that they aren't solid and just a bunch of rocks in formation. I'm thinking of getting a vacation home on Saturn, so definitely let me know when you're thinking of flying out there and you can rent my place. I'm trying to make you feel better about missing out. What have you been up to anyway?
no, no. absolutely not. my love for you is very conditional; after all—who else will save you from yourself but me?! we've got reputations on the line, mate! and I'm so glad you've finally seen the light. you had me worried there, whew! was it the ring that got you? I completely understand. that thing is majestic. when my schedule cleared a bit, I'll definitely hop on a space shuttle and do just that. what? I love kids. and kids love me.

I get it. So, how are things going with the two of you? Just remember who was here first. That's why you throw them off your scent and you don't land where they think you are. Come on Powell, we're not rookies here, we're not about to land in an airport where they will be waiting for us. Find me someone who enjoys getting a regift from someone, because I can guarantee you won't find one.
I can only think of one thing better than you under the tree and that's Brina under it. Sorry, Hemsy but nothing is going to top my beautiful woman when it comes to that. Not getting pulled over in the air, although that imagery is fucking hilarious but when you get to the place you're landing - trouble. Nothing wrong with a little regifting here and there.
