In my opinion, Marinette keeping Gabriel's secret from Adrien is one of the best things that came from the leak.

Adrien has a grand total of 3 alive family members that we know of. I am purposefully excluding Nathalie and the Gorilla as they would not be there if they weren't on Gabriel's payroll.

Amelie lives in London with her own life. While Adrien clearly loves her, she's not steady support for him unless he moves in with her.

Felix established himself as the enemy to Ladybug and Chat Noir last season. Adrien is aware of what his cousin did to help Hawkmoth and whether he will ever choose to forgive Felix for the betrayal will be another question yet to be answered. My guess is it'll depend on whether or not the Sentihuman thing comes in as a plot point this season.

Gabriel is all Adrien has. We, as viewers, see Gabriel as emotionally distant and abusive towards Adrien. He gives Adrien everything he needs except for freedom. Adrien doesn't have the same perspective we do. He sees a father that loves him and wants to protect him. Gabriel was probably a lot different before Emilie "went away." Adrien, while unhappy with modeling and being restricted from being a normal child, still loves his father and looks up to him. We see this in the few genuine moments that they have together.

How can Marinette, in good conscience, take that away from him? How can she look Adrien Agreste in the eyes and tell him that his father was the domestic terrorist that hurt her, hurt Paris, and hurt him on multiple occasions? And tell him the reason why?

Chat Blanc and Ephemeral proves that Adrien gets akumatized everytime he finds out and with Marinette still failing to secure the Butterfly at the end of season 5, its safer that Gabriel is given the opportunity to repair his relationship with his child and become a better parent.

THIS is Marinette protecting Adrien, not Ladybug keeping more secrets because of old habits. We've seen Adrien protecting her physically, we see Chat and LB protecting and helping eachother all the time. Regardless of whether there is a reveal this season, Adrien is one of Marinette's best friends (and possibly her boyfriend at this time). Marinette is taking the trauma Adrien would have had with this knowledge. If the knowledge that Gabriel Agreste was Hawkmoth got out, Adrien's life would be altered and there would be no undoing it.

Given that the past guardians were so strict, it is likely they knew about the holder and the limit theory BUT the potential to abuse the miraculous is extremely strong and it would not be information they'd want them to be able to find out. I do think it'll be interesting to see if we discover what the Cat Miraculous holder can do god i want to see the concept art in the show so bad I think if the show had been an anime like planned, we'd see so much more darker aspects to the Miraculous and its a shame we were robbed of it

Thinking about it, the "the holder makes the limit" is so much of a very bad idea

Like, a bee user could make so the venom only stops the brain or respiratory system of the victim, a turtle user could make a shield so big to be around the whole city or make it so tiny that it can crush any person, a black cat user could just decide to destroy the fabric of time and space and etc

That is actually the best argument FOR the holder makes the limit I have heard.

This is like how bending in Avatar could be so much deadlier than it is shown.

Even with modeling, Lila gives off more "I want to be liked and popular" vibes rather than it being her actual interest like it is Juleka's. Seeing her actually take an art class and be interested in it makes you realize "Ayo thats just a kid? She's doing art?" and you realize she's a character with a life beyond just making Adrien and Marinette aggravated lmfao.

What I really appreciated about Qilin was seeing where Marinette gets her problem solving skills and the ability to predict a certain outcome.

Sabine uses every day household objects to problem solve. Just like Ladybug lucky charms (let’s just ignore the fact that this time Ladybug has a laser gun for a Lucky charm this episode lol). Sabine carefully placed the laundry basket, the sponge, etc. to counteract Marinette’s clumsiness by predicting what her daughter was going to do.

When confronted with the problem of the business man taking up the handicap spot on the bus not moving, she was able to analyze her surroundings and use it to her advantage to solve the problem. As a result a simple pen drop created a wild chain reaction that removed the business man from the spot and allowed the man in the wheelchair take the spot. We’ve seen Ladybug analyze her surroundings and correctly predict an outcome numerous times.

Marinette never got this ability from being Ladybug (she is Ladybug because she has this ability). This is something learned from her mother. Marinette gained this skill through observation and experience by being raised by her mother.

I think Felix suspected Adrien was a senti, but was never really sure until Risk when Gabriel tried controlling him. Last night was Felix's final straw and (if) he ends up the new villain, I think Felix's goal will be to use the wish to either make himself (and Adrien) human without their lives being tied to the rings and/or to bring his Aunt Emilie back and make Gabriel pay for what he's done.

But Felix and Adrien are two sides of a coin and mirror eachother. Felix is desperate to have control of his life and resents that Adrien doesn't try to gain his freedom. Adrien ALSO wants freedom, but doesn't understand the lengths Felix goes to to get it when submitting is much easier. And I think last night opened Felix's eyes to everything wrong in the Agreste home because not only is his uncle the villain, he has his "creator" locked in the basement and is consistently abusing Adrien's amok. He does love Adrien and seeing both him, Kagami, and Marinette urge Adrien to stand up to his father is so impactful because they are the only three that knows really what Adrien's life is like.

Felix potentially being the next villain has SO MUCH more potential than Lila because Felix has so much more to gain if he gets the miraculous: true freedom.

Now, to the thing that i wanted to discuss that i have seen some confused about:

And there's a simple answer for that:

Felix didnt know Adrien was a senti.

In "Gabriel Agreste" we are shown that Felix is aware that he is a sentimonster. The whole episode is a passive agressive fight between Gabriel and Felix, Felix even risking himself just to prove Gabriel was Shadowmoth. Felix technically had the upper hand in that episode, since he has his own amok. That's why he was so cocky (even tho he toned down a bit when realizing he didn't know how the power of the miraculous works and he could have you know, died right there)

Now back to Risk

We know that Felix cares for Adrien, but we know that what he really wanted to do with his whole "let's pretend we are the other" plan was to uncover Gabriel being Shadowmoth. It was a win for both of them. And Felix (as Adrien) was honestly gonna talk back to Gabriel, even after seeing Emilie'a corpse (that sequence was badass btw). Like i said, Felix cares about Adrien, so giving him this freedom is the least he can do, since he doesnt give a damn about Gabriel(while we dont know how his family life was/is, we can agree that learning that you are a human whose freedom is controlled by a tiny object possesed by a magic feather is not something you would be happy about).

So why did he stop?

Because Gabriel tried to give "Adrien" an order, but didnt have the ring and got nervous. Because Felix saw Gabriel fidgeting with his finger where the ring should have been and then Nathalie literally shoving into Felix's face that damned ring and that damned orders.

Felix realized that Adrien didnt just lack backbone. Adrien was a senti. Just like him. He realized that Adrien's life was in peril, just like his used to.

So Felix became submissive to protect Adrien.

He is not following orders because he is being controlled. He is doing it to protect his cousin. Because he is now aware that is not only his life that's in risk, but Adrien's too.

Because this whole shit is bigger than "my uncle is playing villain and im gonna uncover him like a spy".

All I know about miraculous is from tumblr but I'm invested in the sentimonster storyline, is it actually canon or not?! I've seen so many posts for months going "it's canon!! He's a sentimonster!!" And when I check it's not and I'm just so CONFUSED 😭😭😭

The episode Risk just confirmed that Adrien is in fact a sentimonster.

Felix and Adrien switch places. This is Felix pretending to be Adrien. Gabriel tries to control Adrien, but forgotten he had just given Nathalie the ring (that controls Adrien). Nathalie quickly steps in and commands Adrien to come with her. Felix, knowing that both he and Adrien are sentimonsters, and that Nathalie is the one with the ring right now, doesn't obey any orders until Nathalie gives them to him. I just-- this kid has the only braincell in the whole show holy shit holy shit holy shit
