Marley: No apologies necessary. My new teachers seem kind of laidback, so I'm not worried about them getting mad. I just told them you guys bought it for me as a surprise...and maybe fibbed a little bit and said you got the dates wrong for winter break.

Ryder: Well good, I'm glad. Because the spoiling isn't ever going to stop. Never ever ever never ever.

Ryder: I'm just super stoked to see you! Like, to the point I think I'm more excited to see you than I am about this whole trip in general. Does that make me seem super needy? This whole going to two different colleges thing still sucks. You ever decide what you were doing in the summer btw? You gonna visit your dad again?

Marley: Shhh, I haven't been able to eat a banana since! I didn't realize they actually stuck to people like that. Hanging onto you while we're doing that doesn't seem like a good idea! I don't want either of us to get hurt.

Ryder: What can I say, I like spoiling my girlfriend :)

Ryder: Pff we will be fine! I'm really excited to see you! Sorry the trip wasn't better timed so we could have gone during winter break. But missing a couple days of classes won't kill us. :)

Marley: Hey! I trusted you with my shampoo secrets, and you're using them against me. So not fair! I guess I'll leave mine at home, though - I have having to check bags, so I can't bring a big bottle.

Marley: Do you really think I could snowboard? It seems sort of like skateboarding on snow, and...well, you saw what happened that one time I tried to ride your old skateboard.

Ryder: I just really want you to try the shampoos this place has! They're amazing and you'll probably fall in love.

Ryder: Yes I remember a night of pampering you and feeling really bad when you fell even though you kept saying you were fine. It was still my fault and I'm sorry ok! But snowboarding isn't as bad because you don't need to step off the board to push and go. You're just kinda stuck to the board and I think it's a bit easier but I'll let you be the judge.

Marley: Sooooo.... what kind of stuff should I be packing for this ski trip?

Marley: And you promise I can start on the bunny slopes, right?

Ryder: Warm stuff, duh! Anything to protect you from cold and snow. And I guess some spending cash if you want to pick up and doodads for your mom or something. The Resort will have everything else, unless you don't like using small hotel shampoos, like a total weirdo.

Ryder: Of course Marls, we will get you started off on the easier hills. Remember we can get either skii or snowboard rentals so don't be afraid to try them both and see what you like best :)

[Ryder smiled into Marley’s brief kiss and continued to smile brightly even after she pulled away. He was really excited to be here right now, getting to spend Halloween with his girlfriend at some college party.] “It’s not a Halloween party without those things! If I don’t leave here without a cavity, sore from dancing, or a multi-colored tongue from all the food dye, then something is terribly wrong.” [Ryder slid his hand along Marley’s free one and intertwined his fingers with hers as he waited for her to open the door.] “I really hope we can keep up with our usual party tradition. You know favorite one where we always seem to end up making out?” [He teased as he pressed a quick kiss to Marley’s temple.] “Only this time we’re actually in a relationship and we don’t have to pretend it didn’t happen the next morning.” [When finally entering the house Ryder remained by Marley’s side. While reluctant at first he forced himself to let go of Marley’s hand in order to shake the hands of fellow party participants, wanting to be as polite as possible as he was greeted by Marley’s friends and peers. It felt kinda weird being at a party where he wasn’t known as being one of the school’s football players. But if he was being absolutely honest he enjoyed being known at Marley’s boyfriend a lot more. After the initial wave of people Ryder promptly returned his hand to Marley’s, offering it a small squeeze as he smiled at her.] “So, wanna get a drink? Walk around? Mingle? You take the lead, I’ll be right beside you all night.”

Ryder scoffed as if Marley had said the most absurd thing in the entire universe. “Obnoxious? Marley Rose you can never, ever, ever be obnoxious, ever.” He insisted, clearly making a very good point that his girlfriend couldn’t argue against. “Yes you look perfect. A spot-on 60’s replica that if you did go back in time one of the real Beatles would probably try their hardest to woo you. But lucky for me, you’re here in 2014 and with me instead. So, I think I’m clearly the bigger winner here. The Beatles can keep all their awards; what I have is priceless.” Yes his words were oozing corniness but he didn’t care. It was no less true no matter how totally cheesy it sounded. Without a doubt, he was absolutely 100% sure he loved Marley more than anything else he could ever love, and he was never afraid to make a fool out of himself with lovey-dovey speeches and consistent reminders of his feelings. “Ohh, a real college party you say? Compared to a fake college party?” Maybe Mr. Lynns dad-jokes were rubbing off on Ryder a little, but he still thought it was a clever comeback and chuckled to himself. “Well, I’m excited. I’m excited to see your friends, enjoy a Belmont party, and most of all- spend time with my girl.” Ryder lightly squeezed Marley’s hand and pulled her close so he could peck her temple with a small kiss before he started to head towards the door with her. “Yeah yeah, let’s get going! I hope they have a costume contest set up, because I’m so ready to win cutest couple ever. And don’t worry, you have plenty of time to swoon all night.”

[Ryder bounced his leg as he sat there anxiously waiting to see what Marley was going to choose. When she finally said that he could look he picked himself up from the chair and turned, smiling wide at his adorable girlfriend. Okay so maybe he wanted to go with the Grease costumes. And maybe part of him really wanted to because he was very well aware of how attractive Marley was in her Sandy catsuit and how damn good they’d both look flaunting around the party. But a big reason he wanted to go with the Danny/Sandy duo was more for sentimental reasons, a bit of a throwback to when they first met, first kissed, first performed together- basically the whole reason they ever met to begin with. Without Grease things could be very different right now. But he wasn’t going to pressure Marley into doing anything she didn’t want to, even if they were just silly costumes.] “Disappointed? Me? Is it ever even possible for me to be remotely disappointed in you for anything?” [Ryder stepped towards Marley and put his hands on her hips, pulling her in for a quick kiss before wrapping his arms around her completely and resting his forehead against hers.] “You look absolutely perfect, like always. My absolutely gorgeous, beautiful, stunning girlfriend who I’m definitely excited to have as my own personal fangirl for the night. Instead of a Beatle I could just pretend to be Ryder Lynn, world’s most super famous drummer ever.” [He chuckled a little and pulled away from Marley in order to collect his costume attire. He started to change, not minding if Marley was looking or not. After all it’s not like she hadn’t seen him in swim trunks before, and boxers were basically the same thing.] “Are we supposed to bring anything to this party? Should we go to a store really quick? Like, snacks or a dish to pass out or something?” [When he was all dressed he stood himself in front of a mirror Marley’s roommate had, not wanting to take over Marley’s just in case she needed it. He combed his hair and made sure he looked alright before he started to put on his tie. He turned to face Marley again as he was finishing up, not realizing he was making it look a little crooked. When he was done he did a little spin and threw his arms out.] “Ta-da! I look alright? Are you swooning yet?”

[Ryder couldn’t be happier to be spending his Halloween weekend with Marley. Like a good student he even skipped class today, so he could be a good boyfriend instead and leave early to head down south; stopping off in Lima to grab some old costume-type-clothes from his house, and getting some stuff from Marley’s house too that she had requested before taking the remainder of the trip straight down to Belmont without a single stop. Of course when he finally arrived to Marley’s dorm building he had to use the restroom ridiculously bad but that wasn’t important. Spending the majority of the day with Marley just doing their usual clingy-lovey-snuggly things was absolutely perfect, but he was pretty excited to get ready to head out to a Halloween party and get to see her Acapella friends again.] “Okay Marls, the choice is all yours. Sandy and Danny, or Beatle and adorable fangirl.” [Ryder grabbed a chair and sat in it backwards, facing away from Marley; wanting to give her privacy to change. Sure he’s seen her topless before and all but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t going to continue to be respectful and gentleman like.] “So whichever one you choose, I’ll throw on my matching costume. Either way, we’re totally going to be the best looking couple at this party with the gosh darn cutest costumes ever.” [He smiled to himself as he patiently waited to be surprised, drumming his fingers along the back of the chair as he did so.]

Marley: No offense, but I really don't need a mental image of what goes on in Jake's room ever.

Marley: He better be? Shouldn't you be intimidated by your competition, Ryder Lynn? You seem ready to give me away without a fight. You're not Schmidt, don't - hey, wait, do you not like Schmidt? I'd say you're a very lovable Nick/Winston hybrid. Is that an okay answer?

Marley: Ryder, you still can't come /every/ weekend, you know. You've got to pay attention to school, and it's expensive, and yeah. I haven't asked yet, actually, although I assume if we're learning Halloween songs there's got to be some kind of celebration. We're too old to trick or treat! I heard news stories about people calling the cops for having people our age try to. Don't use the r-word! We only wear costumes on special occasions, you goober.

Ryder: Me either. Unfortunately though I have to live with him.

Ryder: wait I thought we were talking about me. Is there some other distracting guy you're watching movies with?? :(( I like Schmidt but I don't want to end up like him. I will accept a Nick/Winston hybrid. I can't wait to become an angry 30 year old bartender!

Ryder: Don't tell me what to do! It's not THAT expensive and it's totally worth it. You're always worth it. Well I'll still be there with costume regardless so it's up to you to figure out what there is to do between now and Halloween! That's so so so stupid. There's no age to a holiday. Everyone should be able to trick or treat. Not that I even went last year but still!

Marley: Ew, Ryder! I was just kidding. Does he really do that all the time? I'm scared to even sit on your couch now, I'm imagining a gross booger infestation.

Marley: Maybe I just should have watched it on my own. The guy I normally watch it has these really distracting - well, everythings, so I don't always catch important stuff. You did? Zoey Deschanel is my favorite! Do you love it? Tell me you love it!

Marley: I shouldn't be celebrating, because I know you really love football, but I'm definitely going to enjoy not having to plan visits around your games for a while. No sir! If we're making costumes, we're at least walking around the block in them. If we only dress up for each other, people are going to... you know, assume things.

Ryder: Haha, you're fine. He doesn't, at least not that I've seen. You should be more worried about staying out of his bedroom instead of being afraid to sit on the couch. Who knows what unseen messes he has in there.

Ryder: Oh you're watching stuff with some super distracting guy huh? He better be super handsome and have really awesome hair. Yeah, I like it so far. I feel like I'm a Nick. Am I a Nick? I wanna be Nick. Please say I'm not Schmidt. I can even accept Winston. Though we both know I'm really a Cece.

Ryder: I'm really stoked to be able to spend whole weekends with you and not have to worry about missing out of quality girlfriend time for some stupid games. Well, they aren't stupid but it's just unfortunate they're usually Saturdays. Oh you don't want people to know we roleplay in costume together for funsies? Haha, let's go trick or treating! Or see if one of your acapella friends is having a party?

Marley: I'll just have to find you some kind of cure to the cuteness. Maybe I'll send you a really gross picture of Jake picking his nose or something for you to look at whenever you feel faint.

Marley: It's so disappointing. Game of Thrones is such a cool idea, but they get so caught up in the nudity instead of doing a better job of explaining everything from the books. Pfft, movies? Who needs those when you can get attached to characters for hundreds of episodes in a TV series?

Marley: Really? I didn't know college football even did that! That's exciting, Ryder. I'd love to have you here, you know that. I'm not sure what all there is to do, but I bet we can find something.

Ryder: Ugh no thank you. If I wanted to see that I would just have to walk out of my bedroom.

Ryder: I dunno, there are definitely over the top nudity scenes but I think they still do a pretty good job explaining things. I've sort of started watching New Girl?

Ryder: November might be the last month we have games, and I think it's only three. So I'll be free every weekend hopefully. We can find something, or just sit around in your dorm wearing costumes like total dorks. :)

Marley: HBO stuff? Isn't everyone naked on those shows?

Marley: Nothing exciting yet, although we did get the sheet music for 'The Monster Mash' and 'This Is Halloween' last week! How about you?

Ryder: You might have a hard time beating yourself. I mean you're pretty adorable 24/7. If you try too hard I might just pass out from all the cute.

Ryder: Well not all of them. Game of Thrones is pretty nudity filled. But other shows are a little tamer. Plus HBOgo has a better movie selection than Netflix.

Ryder: Well all of our November games are during the week. So I have weekends free? And I was kinda hoping to spend Halloween with you?? If you want me down in Belmont that is.

Marley: Network? Did you magically age to 40 in the past three weeks? Please don't worry about me, Ryder. I don't like big crazy parties, but I'm happy with how things are right now.

Ryder: sorry I was watching a show and they say networking a lot. I was trying to sound smart!

Marley: No, you know I'm not going out and partying, you big goof. I mostly spend time with people from acapella group, but I just happened to be home when my roomie got there, and she seemed upset so I helped her out.

Ryder: I guess it's better than axe. And if you like it then id be stupid to change it.

Ryder: You should. Meet new people and stuff! Socialize, network, whatever else they call it. Though I'm also perfectly ok with Skype dates and texting over the weekend too. :)

Marley: No, no, not me - some guy was bugging her, but she couldn't understand the instructions on her phone because she was still drunk, so I helped her. Calm down, Ryder, everything's fine, I promised.

Ryder: Really though? Old spice?

Ryder: oh okay. I'd have to rough someone up if they were being a total creep to you. You partying hard down there in Belmont with your roommate every weekend? Haha
