I don't know why it's so hard for people to understand that the issue with Genshin not having any black/dark character's ISN'T just them basing two of the major areas in their game on areas many populated by darker people, but it's that this is a repeating pattern. Many of their games have a suspicious lack of dark characters, and when they are in the game they are sometimes so light that their own official art whitewashes them.

If every area of Teyvat was based on European places, the lack of black characters still wouldn't be excused because it's a fantasy world. If you're okay with cat girls, talking animals, and many other fantasy elements, but for some reason black people ruin your emersion then maybe you need to touch grass.

And to all the people saying "well it's a Chinese company what do you expect" it doesn’t excuse the behavior when you’re basing two of the major areas on the history of black and brown people. It's also really annoying when you use the existence of another race to disguise your bigotry. Many non-western Genshin players have been asking for darker characters in many of their games for a while, stop using their existence to excuse your own racism.

It really sucks because I do think some of the designs look cool and that Natlan as a whole looks cool, but I'm tired off seeing Genshin bootlickers trying to defend Hoyoverses choice to make yet another area of the game be filled with white characters after months of saying "well just wait for Natlan, then you'll see."

Edit: I don’t have exact screenshots of Chinese genshin fans making fun of the character because, like y’all love to claim, China uses different forums and apps then us. I really can only go off what I’ve seen or heard, and I’ve seen a lot of people translate forum posts where it seems that Chinese fans have been making fun of the Natlan characters. I’ve decided to remove this as to not spread misinformation and because I couldn’t easily find the screenshots but if y’all have any thin proving this claim I’d love to use it.

Why is Genshin so scared of brown people? I don't expect the game to be accurate to the cultures the nations are inspired from, I get it's a fantasy world, but if they're going to take inspiration from Middle Eastern, Latin, and Indian countries, then would it kill them to make more characters from those region have some melanin. How are Kaeya and Xinyan the darkest characters in the game 😭. The ever-so-slightly tan characters in Natlan can hardly be considered light-skinned.

Like- what about Charizard, Gyarados, and Aerodactyl looks like a fucking bird? It was also gen 1 and 2, what dragon types? The thought of people looking at those pokemon and going ThAt's A bIrD is so honestly brain dead. If you're going to be that literal about types then by that logic Psyduck, Golduck, Torchic, Combusken, Blaziken, Piplup, Prinplup, Empoleon, Decidueye, Sirfetch'd, and Fezandipiti aren't birds.

Okay TV weddings are cute and all but name a more iconic wedding scene than Will and Elizabeth Turner’s cause they were literally married by the man who kidnapped the bride and killed the groom’s dad, WHILE killing sea creature-people things and while reciting their vows to each other and their witnesses along with the psychopathic officiant were two other previously undead freaks who tried to kill her the first time they met her and a fucking immortal monkey.

And don’t even get me started on the way he spun her like they were dancing. That. Was. Everything.

Lance slander will forever be so funny to me, it really goes to show how ignorant the Pokemon community can be sometimes when it comes to really doing research and using common sense

They like to call him a bird keeper since some of his Pokemon are in fact Flying-types, however, for those who have his New Years outfit in Pokemon Masters, there’s a literal voice line of him saying that not all dragons are Dragon-type Pokémon, there’s a reason why it’s canon that he’s known as a DRAGON MASTER

Don’t even get me started on those who genuinely think he ended the life of a man because of the Hyper Beam Lance did on the guy, if you walk up to the guy after Lance Hyper Beam’s him, he’s still alive, he’s just injured, HE’S NOT DEAD

The three Dragonite’s, while there’s no canon reason at least to my knowledge as to why he has three of them, why does it matter so much?? There are other Trainers who have multiple of the same Pokemon and no one says ANYTHING about them

And the Full Restores, it’s a Champion thing to do, minus Geeta, they all spam Full Restores because they’re supposed to be hard and pose a challenge to the player, it’s hypocritical because there are multiple players that spam Full Restores on themselves too, but when Lance does it it’s a problem??

And I’ve seen people make fun of the fact that his team can be easily taken out by Ice-type moves, ok? That’s because Pokemon have weaknesses?? That’s common sense in the Pokemon universe, every single Pokemon is weak to a different type

I’m a Lance defender till the day I die, it’s just common sense and research 😭
