So I've sneaked back on this account to share my final vlog for USW. 3 years ago I couldn't of dreamed for the experiences I've gained being at The University of South Wales and 3 years I cant look back on and definitely be thankful for. Being USW Bogger has opened my eyes to new interests and opportunities that have helped me along the way. So Ive decided that blogging is something I enjoy so I've decided to make a account that will still let you follow my journey. I have some surprises I can't wait to share and it will follow on from where I left of leaving USW. I'll take you on my journey of being a graduate and having absolutely no clue what Im doing and the highs and lows of being a graduate. So if you want to keep following this journey my new account is @charlottehaines so good luck for results, make sure to check out the new bloggers and I'll see you around!

The challenging moments in life
So I'm now a week post graduating... It feels weird that university is over already. So some people have jobs sorted and I'm not going to lie when I say I'm a little bit scared, scared that I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing now that I've left university. With this in mind I've had so many people share with me their advice and on reflection; I'm learning it's ok not to know what exactly I'm doing. In the last few weeks I've applied for numerous it jobs in areas I'm aspiring to work in. At the moment I've not heard anything and instead of thinking I haven't got the job I'm going to be positive and be in the mind set of "no news is good news". For now I'm going to keep applying for the jobs that take my fancy, I want to be back in Cardiff and I'm ready for the challenge!

Summer plans
Evening all! So I've seen a few posts recently on people trying to think how to spend their summer now they have a few months off. Here's some tips/ ideas: 1. Holiday - whether it's with your friends or family a holiday can always be fun. If not abroad why not go camping? 2. Part-time job - might be seen as boring or time consuming but having that extra bit of money can get you pretty far when you arrive at uni. 3. Days out - the summer before I went to summer mostly consisted of me being out with friends in bristol, enjoying the sun and time I had with them. 4. Experiences - have a look online for events that is happening near you, get your friends together and do something out of the ordinary. 5. Work experience - having experience in the subject you're going to study can be a bonus. During the summer before I went to university I decided to work closely with a Bristol songwriter and created a music video for one of his songs. This kept me busy and also meant I could say I worked on something media related. I hope these tips have helped, like always if you have more let me know. I have my graduation vlog ready to edit so do keep your eyes open for that!

4 years ago on the 6th of July I attended an open day at The University Of South Wales. I didn't know back then that this would be the university I'd study at let alone be graduating with a First on the exact same date 4 years later ❤🎓

Being diagnosed with dyslexia isn't a bad thing... improvements can be put in place to ensure you get the support you need. This was my reading age when I first had my dyslexic test back in 2014.

Exams are finished what next?
Morning all! So for those who have just completed their A-levels exams over the last few weeks are beginning to realise that things are changing and you don't have to revise like you have been doing day in day out anymore and those textbooks can be put away. So a-level results are released on Thursday the 17th of August, yes that might seem quite far away but it's only 7 weeks away. I've decided I'd do a blog sharing any advice and tips on what to expect now all of the exams have finished. 1. Take time for you - do what you want to do it's you time not revision time. 2. You will be bored - now that all your exams and lessons have finished you have more time to spare then you would've thought... some days drag other go quick 3. Lead up - The lead up to results day will start really slow but when you have just a week left it will go very quickly. Do things that will take your mind off it; go out, see friends and family, try something new. 4. Post results = head down - if when you get your grades you find that you have been accepted to study at university your days will disappear very quickly. Make a list of things you need to buy that way you won't forget anything. 5. You will be ok - results day is a day that most of the time you will want to come but other days will dread. The questions going through your head will be terrifying you but you need to know everything will be ok. Like I've said before some courses still accept you if you don't get the grades, or happened to me and I'm graduating university now with a First. I hope this has helped, if you have more advice you think might help someone let me know and I'll share it!

Saying goodbye
Hiya guys! So for many of you you'll be saying your final goodbyes to your school, college, sixth form, friends and teachers. Saying goodbye can be a weird thing, that many don't like to think about. Don't see it as a bad thing; see it as the end of one chapter before you turn the page to start a new one. This week I finally said goodbye to USW, although I'll be back in 2 weeks for graduation I know how quick that day is going to be. I wanted to ensure I said goodbye and thank you to Jose at USW who have helped my journey, whether it was lectures or staff working in the Student Advice Zone. It's the same for those finishing their A-levels, you'll have one more trip before this chapter of your life finishes. If someone has made your experience even a little bit easier, go thank them. I'm not saying go buy then a box of chocolates, but as much as a box of chocolates would be nice a card can go a long way. Thank them for the support you've received, show them that their job matters. Goodbyes are not bad, you do have to grow up (I know that can be scary) but put your head on straight and go run for what opportunities can bring you. Keep an eye peeled for vlog sharing my tips for those who will be studying Media Production, what you should buy and my advice whilst studying. But for now, keep doing what your doing, don't worry about the future (easier said than done, I know) but enjoy the time you have before you go and collect your results!
