If there was one thing that the Gracey Manor kids knew, it was how to have fun at a ball. While the surroundings weren’t quite as grim and grinning as back home, it was still set up like a proper ball. As Hattie looked around the dancefloor, she couldn’t help but grin when she saw her attic sister. “Lottie! Gods, I’d given up hope that you were even here.” she exclaimed, holding the girl tightly.Since her father was disinclined to have another child, Hattie was fortunate enough to share the attic space with Charlotte, who Hattie had come to feel fondly towards, much like a sister. “You look beautiful as always! How long have you been here?”

Without much hesitation she returned the hug. She had always seen the other like family so it was only natural. “ I could say the same about you. “ she replied, motioning down to her outfit. “ I honestly can’t remember, It’s been so long I think I’ve lost track of the days. “ she admitted.  “ Enough about that though, tell me how have you been? “ she questioned.

The brunette had sat upon a bench with a book in her lap. She had been bored and decided to fill her time with some recreational reading. She had gotten used to reading in the dark since there was little to no light in the attic that her and her mother occupied. Once she heard a fimialr voice call out her name, her dark eyes lifted from the pages and on to the other. Her lashes fluttered in surprise at first not expecting to see him in front of her and in such.. casual attire. Not that Charlotte minded any, she was just glad to see him again. “ Kieran. “ his name felt like honey rolling off her tongue. She smiled softly and nodded at his question, “ Yes it is me... “ quickly without much thought she ran into the other, wrapping her arms around him.  While charlotte was never a fan of hugs he was an exception.  “ I missed you so much, I didn’t even know you were here. “ she confessed as she pulled back to look up at him.

While Kieran knew that Hattie, Aidan, and Charlotte were all somehow here in this strange and mysterious land with him, he had yet to run into them all. Even though the location had changed, his demeanor had not. He remained the recluse he once was, avoiding contact with anyone unless truly necessary. Though he was starting to grow a bit restless, deciding to go for a late night walk. It was then his gaze locked with a familiar face, a bit flustered considering he was now dressed in quite lax attire ( a t-shirt and sweatpants ). It was improper considering his status, but at least he was comfortable. “ Charlotte…? Is that really you? ” His words were lined with disbelief, voice slightly breathless.

Eva was quick to turn to the girl standing beside her, taking in the sight of her before resting her hand on her own cheek. “ I think anything’s worth a try at this point, ” a light chuckle fell from her lips as she tilted her head to the side ever so slightly. “ You know, you could make a wonderful fitting model! If you have time to spare, and who doesn’t lately, I would appreciate it. I would even let you keep any original designs that you like. ”

The ghost girl’s expression flickered a bit at the offer. “ You think so? “ she asked curiously.  She hesitated for a moment before lazily shrugging her shoulders. “ I suppose I could give it a try. “ she replied, casually. After all it couldn’t hurt right?

As strange as it seemed Charlotte had been enjoying herself more then she had in awhile. As she made her way to retrieve a drink when out of the corner of her eye she spotted a familiar shock of red hair, which she had a pretty good guess as to who it belonged to. She had only seen a few faces she knew in this strange town and was glad that there was another she could add to that list. “ Hattie! “ she grinned as she approached her friend. “ I haven’t seen you in sometime. “

While Charlotte was never big on social events there was something about ball that had drawn her in like a small little child. Her mother had never let her enjoy herself like this in a while and she planned on relishing in the moment. Hearing the girl speak Charlotte’s gaze flickered over to her. “ I wouldn’t have a clue.” she shrugged. “ I suppose it is worth a try though. “ 

“Seeing all these beautiful gowns makes me sort of want to open up my own dress shop in town,” the musing was voiced aloud as Eva’s eyes remained focused on all the fellow beautiful girls who twirled about on the dance floor. It was probably one of the most enchanting things the girl had ever seen in her life seeing as parties were never something she had time for in the past, but this was her time to finally enjoy herself. “Do you think that might cheer people up a bit?”

Nick had no clue what was going on either, but he had no complaints.  He was quite literally just in Hell, so arriving in this town was more a blessing than a curse to him.  As he walked around and tried to get a feel for the place, silently in awe of its modern wonders, he came across a woman who seemed to be speaking to herself.  “You’re asking the wrong person.”

After the words had left her lips, Charlotte realized that thinking out loud probably wasn’t the best idea. “ Funny cause I don’t remember asking you at all. “ she replied, snidely.

“Your question is a bit vague,” Anakin replied, a slight smirk gracing his features. He assumed her confusion was the same as his and the same as the others he had stumbled upon thus far. Although, it seemed unlikely that everyone here was from somewhere else. There had to be natives, somewhere. “But if you’re speaking of what I think you are. I don’t think anyone knows.”

Charlotte’s brow perked up as she glanced over at the stranger. Being around so many mortals was far from ideal especially when they decided to stick their noses in business that wasn’t theirs. “ Well the question wasn’t directed at you anyways.. “ she replied, snidely.

Despite being no closer to going home than he originally was, Aidan’s face lit up at the sight of the girl. “Charlotte!” He called out, quickly walking towards her. At least if he was going to be stuck there, he’d have some people he enjoyed the company of. “I haven’t the slightest idea.”

As soon as she heard her name, the girl turned around to face the other. A smile soon occupied her lips. She was at least a little relieved to see someone that she knew around. “ Adian...” she breathed out in relief. “ Well it looks like you’re not alone in that. “ she sighed.

A Beating heart was a strange sensation to Charlotte. having gone so long without a pulse, she almost forgot what it felt like to have one. One of the many things that had puzzled her was where was and why she wasn’t still at the mansion. Amidst her confusion she heard a voice which had pulled her attention. Naturally she had recognized the girl, being one of the few from back home she could actually stand and approached her. “ Adelia? “ she called put softly, “ What on earth happened? “ she asked, with concern once she noticed the blood. 

Adelia hadn’t seen anything but the dark interior of the mansion for what felt like an eternity.  She’d been stuck inside the cold, cobweb-filled building for so long that she’d almost forgotten how warm and bright the sun was.  Her eyes were squinting against the bright sunlight as she walked, and because of the impairment to her vision she didn’t see a tree root in her path, which caused her to fall and scrape her palm on the ground.  The sting from the impact hit her like a ton of bricks and caused her to pause.  It wasn’t until she saw the small specks of blood coming from the scrape that it dawned on her.  She was alive.  “I’m bleeding…”  She muttered to herself, not paying any attention to what was going on around her.

Charlotte made a face at the comment, cofee was the least of her troubles at the moment. “ If coffee is the best thing about this place then we’re worse off then I originally thought. “ she pointed out, dryly. 

“I may not know where we are, but I did discover this new place has pretty amazing coffee so it can’t be to terrible right?”
