Charlie was enjoying a sunny afternoon stroll. With no particular destination in mind, she wandered around the town and found herself watching the kids at the local skate park. After sitting and observing for about fifteen minutes, she spotted a familiar face on a skateboard. “Hey, CJ!” she called out as she rose from her spot and approached the edge of the rink. “Where have you been hiding? Are you quietly avoiding me?” (@thecjonowelford)

Charli was just wrapping up her morning lesson at the courts. It had been a good session, and she was feeling great after experiencing a twinge in her knee earlier in the week. As she was putting away the tennis balls, she spotted Phoebe approaching. "Pheebs! You have no idea how excited I am for brunch!" Charli exclaimed, her eyes lighting up. Saturday was her cheat day, and she couldn't wait to indulge herself in a food coma after her strenuous workout. "I’ve been dreaming about that challah-stuffed pumpkin spice French toast all week! It’s literally all I’ve been thinking about!" (@thephoebeyates)

First-world problems. That’s what she kept reminding herself, but it was exhausting. After thanking the barista for her usual almond milk latte, Charli frustratedly made her way over to Zara. “You wouldn’t believe what I’ve been dealing with lately,” she began, her tone a mix of frustration and disbelief. “I understand that fans can be passionate, but some people are just plain rude!” She knew better than to look at the comments on social media, but she couldn’t help herself. Just that morning, a fan had confronted her during practice, demanding that she sign an autograph mid-match. “Can’t I just play without the pressure? It’s so invasive!” (@delicatedevils)

Charli pushed open the door to The Vault, her heart racing with a mix of hope and anxiety. After a night out celebrating Alicia's birthday, she realized her gold tennis bracelet was missing. She had already checked the restaurant where they dined—no luck there. The limo company had reported nothing as well. “This is my last shot,” she muttered to herself, glancing around the club hoping it would appear. Spotting one of the bartenders from last night, she took a deep breath and approached. “Hey, I remember you from last night. Did you happen to come across a gold tennis bracelet by chance?” (@delicatedevils)

Charli stepped into the art gallery, feeling the weight of her earlier frustrations. Her publicist had insisted she attend tonight’s art exhibition, but after a terrible lesson on the court this morning, her mood was less than stellar. Glancing around at the abstract pieces hanging on the walls, she looped her arm in Dylan's as they walked around the gallery. “Hey, thanks for coming with me tonight. I never really understood abstract art, if I’m gonna be honest. Plus… is this even that good?”
She glanced at one of the pieces, a chaotic swirl of colors that didn’t seem to evoke any feeling other than confusion. "And did you hear the whispers about Juko? Nepotism might’ve gotten them this spot.” (@dylxwestwick)

Charli pushed open the door to the bar, eager to catch up with her good friend Jeanie. The familiar buzz of laughter and chatter welcomed her, but her excitement quickly turned to shock. As she approached the bar, Charli noticed a patron yelling at one of Jeanie’s coworkers, their face flushed with anger, as a security guard moved in to escort the irate patron out. “Oh my gosh, tell me that did not just happen!” she gasped, her mouth agape. It was not even that far into the night for someone to be that out of sorts she thought. “Are they a regular?” Charli asked, trying to process the quick flash of the scene that transpired before her. Charli pushed open the door to The Vault, the familiar chime signaling her arrival. The cozy space was still quiet, just before the evening rush, and she spotted Ziana behind the counter. “Ziana!” Charli called out, a smile spreading across her face. She quickly crossed the room and embraced her friend in a warm hug. “It’s been way too long!” Charli stepped back, studying Ziana’s face. “You look fucking fantastic. Also, did you do something new with the place since I was here last?" (@ziamo-xo)

Fiendin' for a smoke. That was certainly not a phrase she thought would come her way this evening. It was one of her childhood friends birthday tonight and they had wanted to go out with a bang. It started with a fabulous dinner at La Galleria. Charli could eat their cacio e pepe dish all night long and have endless bottles of their sparkling wine. It was then followed by a pitstop at Chilled Creamery. Their childhood in a cup, with Charli's go-to of salted caramel with chocolate sprinkles. Charli was good to call it for a night, but they insisted they go to Aurora. Hence, here she was taking a needed breather outside, tempted to call herself an Uber home.
"I'm sorry...but do I look like I would have light?" Certainly not in her amazing outfit tonight. Plus, she found cigarettes to be rather abhorrent, but it wasn't her place to judge. "I can get my own free drinks, thank you very much." It came with the territory most days. Even their dinner and ice cream was comped tonight simply because she took a selfie with the owners. "Happy birthday though...you made it another year around the sun."

It seemed to him that his birthdays had become more and more involved affairs as he'd gotten older― he couldn't quite remember having a proper party for one before he'd been thirteen years of age and a few of his remaining teenaged years were fuzzy at best― all of his most enjoyable birthday memories had come from adulthood and he still felt that way now― skin tacky with sweat, hair mussed where someone had run their fingers through it for the better part of the last five minutes, and a smile that might've cured terrible diseases if he'd been a genius in a slightly more mad scientist sort of way. It was safe to say Percy was enjoying his thirty-second birthday quite thoroughly and certainly planned to continue that trend― just as soon as he'd had a smoke and gotten some fresh air... so to speak.
He found himself standing outside the bar a few moments later― patting his pockets with a cigarette already hanging between his teeth― a rough groan in the back of his throat when his hunt came to naught. "'Scuse me, love?" He called to the nearest person, "You wouldn't happen to have a light, would ya? I've lost mine and I'm fiendin' for a smoke." He explained, noting the roughness of his accent on full display now that he wasn't paying attention to all of the ways he could make it anything but. "I'd be happy to buy ya a drink if you let me bum it for just a bit," Percy continued, grinning rakishly around the cigarette. "I've been gettin' 'em free all night 'cause it's my birthday so I'm not fussed about repayin' that favor."

"Oh, no, I'm good," she said pushing the mic back towards the enthusiastic singer. Everyone had their forté and although she held her own as a soprano throughout middle school and high school choir, that was the beauty of being blended in with other voices. Singing in the shower, in the car, or even obnoxiously while training was one thing. In front of a room of strangers, no thanks. "You've got this. I wouldn't want to steal your thunder!" she yelled out over the music. If anything, Charli didn't want to zap the energy out of the room entirely. That would be rather embarrassing sending flashbacks to her getting stage fright during a holiday concert when she had a solo.

“so i say thank you for the music, the songs i’m singing, thanks for all the joy they’re bringing…” tefi sang into the microphone with her mostly melodic voice, half a pitch too high but not egregiously so, sat atop the bar nearest the karaoke stage. she was lounging across it in fact, long legs sideways on the bar, her elbow bent underneath to hold her up as she serenaded the crowd with one of her favorite abba hits. she hadn’t cared if she was annoying anyone with her little show, because when did she ever care if she was being annoying? tefi tore the microphone away from her own mouth to shove it into the face of the nearest patron, “come on, sing the next part!” tefi demanded, despite it not being a duet. she just wanted someone to fill in while she downed the rest of her cocktail, letting out a woo! as she finished it and slammed it on the bar next to her, much to the chagrin of the bartender behind her.
