I’ve watched to season 4 and then I usually stop to avoid b*cho content and also I just didn’t like the show much past 5x03
okay i’m curious now. has anyone out there (bellarke shippers specifically) binged t100 in the last few years since it’s ended but just s1-6? and if so, was the experience still enjoyable??

i do not look at red states and see my enemies. i look at red states and see the people who voted for harris, maybe in secret, and i worry for them. i am privileged to be queer and latine in a blue state and if you are in a blue state, do not forget red states have people, good people, just like you in them.

i mean this in the meanest way possible, if you as a leftist, in an attempt to 'punish' the democrats, either didn't vote or voted for a third party, go fuck yourself. you chose your own self righteousness over actually doing good.

I'm certain this is on Tumblr somewhere, but I haven't seen it around, so I'm sharing it myself

I know that a lot of you are banking on having little to do with your nephews/neices as children and then becoming their "cool aunt" once they become teenagers, but I think that you will find, upon analysis, that a random middle-aged woman stepping into a whole-ass teenager's life and arbitrarily declaring herself to be a "cool aunt" is, in fact, the least cool thing it's possible to do.

That linguistics post is so cool! What are some characteristics of Tumblr English that you recognize?
I think I first became aware of it sometime around because science, which begat the whole because [noun] construction, as in “the moon consistently rotates through its phases in 28 days because science, which makes it a natural timekeeping tool.” Its usage is an indicator that there was a complex scientific [or noun] process being glossed over, because of any or all of the following:
a) it’s not relevant to the overall topic, or
b) the speaker thinks it would be too long or boring or break up the flow of the conversation, or
c) the speaker isn't confident on the exact details of the scientific process, but learned about it from what they consider a credible source and are giving the listener the tldr.
Using the construction leans pretty hard on a general conversational implicature (assumption we all employ to aid communication) that the speakers are engaging in good faith, not lying or obfuscating, therefore they can be trusted to omit some things for the sake of the quality of the communication. Presumably if their conversational partners wanted to follow up on those details, the speaker would be able to provide them.
Other tumblrisms I’m aware of, in no particular order:
[x] side of tumblr, [please explain]
smol
Piss on the poor
hellsite (affectionate)
Me, an intellectual:
The adaptation of punctuation to serve as tonal indicators, like leaving a question mark off a question meant to be delivered in a flat tone, or adding a question mark to a statement meant to rise in tone at the end
/gn, /derogatory, etc
The whole family of iirc, tbh, imo, etc which are not unique to tumblr but are prevalent
Bald, used to indicate “other” among a set of choices
Prev, OP, mutuals
My beloathed
Shrimp colors (and variants)
The autism creacher
THIS IS SHOUTING and thIS is MoCkeRy (again, part of broader internet speak)
Important Things Are Capitalized and/or Trademarked™️ (has origins outside of the internet but frequently used here)
Skill issue
Blorbos and putting them in Situations
Subscribing at [x] notes
I am so normal about this
There are definitely more I’m not thinking of right this second but that’s a decent list. Feel free to message me if there are particular ones you want me to flesh out!
