How did you find the performance of the AliExpress eeBrakes?
I have broken my elbow so haven't ridden on them outside. They look absolutely stunning and almost indistinguishable except the small things noted on the ee website. They are 15g heavier than the OGs as well due to aliexpress lot not using Ti bolts. Will probs make a vid on them once I'm outside again

I'm looking to build a bike. I want it to light weight simple and fast. But also cheap. What components would you recommend (frame groupset wheelset). Thanks
Frame - elves Vanyar
Groupset - lightest mechanical is 11 speed sram red or 10 speed sram red is also v cheap and light
Wheelset - Chinese carbon from aliexpress. I have deerobust tubs which are 1kg for pair and are outrageous

Soon to be doing a hill climb, what's the best kit to wear skinsuit or bibs and Jersey? Any recommended?
I always wear skinsuit and think it's the way to go as it's slightly more aero and feels fast. I really recommend no pinz skinsuit as there's no faff with number pinning, they are fast and just top quality product all round

Thanks for the reply mate. I don’t think I explained myself very well. I’m not looking to get in proper cycling fit form. I work out and surf etc and I ride my bike 4-6 times a week for cardio fitness and also cos I love it. I was just wondering whether spending my 4ish hours a week cycling would I get more fitness bang for my buck doing longer flatter quicker rides or just going straight for my local climb and doing hill repeats. ie set an goal mileage or elevation for the week/ year.
Probably hill repeats. I would set hour based goals. Like I will do 30 mins of hill repeats twice a week with 15min warmup/cool down for example. Then 2 hours on flats cruising or something similar. Hours are best way to do it. I also set distance goals for me but they aren't the be all and end all of my training at all. Hope that helps

Hey mate, Would you focus on total miles per year or total elevation gained per year for fitness? (For a noob with no power meter)
Both irrelevant. Focus on hours per week. Then in that focus on intensity per week. Ie do 2 intense sessions per week either intervals if you want or just going full on a climb.
Best way to measure fitness with no climb is going full up a climb and tracking your progression over the year.
Hope that helps

What do you think your ftp will be after your return from injury?
When I start training it will be around 180-200w. However I can ride a bike inside now it's just my back hurts so I will gain fitness on recumbent bike and cross trainer until my back is healed more and I sort my bike out after the crash.

What training do you do at the gym? What weights and reps?
Depends - it's like a uni thing so I just turn up and do what the lad says. Normally slightly lower weight and longer reps but I'm weak as. 6kg bent over row is a big day out 😂😂

Did you go to Chiangmai and Adelaide because of Durianrider? Did u meet him? What’s he like and are u mates now?
Mm interesting. Went to adelaide to ride with pros and train, harley said it was good and was correct. Went to Thailand because tori and others were going and wanted to see paul. Was very good also.
