Comics is a medium with a rich history of celebrated works across all genres, including the erotic. It is also a format that has been overwhelmingly censored and banned due to the strict control of the Comics Code Authority of the 1950s, which have only eased in the last few decades.  But recent years have seen an incredible increase in restrictive anti-erotica policies- Patreon, Gumroad, Stripe, Etsy, itch.io and more have all blamed “payment processing partners” for their new restrictive policies. While these are all US-based companies, their monopoly ultimately affects artists and non-english platforms around the world.

Visa and Mastercard may be getting a lot of calls about their adult content policies, but I just called in to PayPal and not only was there no wait, the customer service rep I got had never had one of these calls before (they were very nice about it.)

Don't overlook the online processors - even more than Visa and Mastercard they are the ones pressuring online retailers. PayPal is the one that's been pressuring Patreon over the last year or so.

I've had no luck reaching Stripe, all of the numbers people have dug up ring through as disconnected.

A lot of people genuinely do hate or dismiss romance novels because they think all sexual frankness in fiction is immoral and harmful, or because they think women (and only women) are too stupid to know fiction from reality, or because they think it’s gross and laughable for women (especially ones they don’t consider fuckable) to have sexual desires, or because they automatically assume that anything popular with women is inferior, or because they only care about fiction being formulaic or light entertainment when it’s something women like. This doesn’t mean that every romance novel is great and deep and progressive, but these people aren’t coming from a good place with their criticism and they don’t deserve a pass.

KOSA/the kids online safety act has been reintroduced into legislature after it passed Senate last year and then got snubbed. It is not unlike the bill that just passed in the UK a few weeks ago. If you don't want what happened in the UK to happen here, now would be a good time to vocally oppose it.

Here is a petition that can be signed by Americans. Attached to the petition is an easy tool that allows you to call and leave messages for your representatives. I have already done so. You can also email your representatives by searching for their name, most have message submission boards as well. This thing died once, it can die again.

OKAY very quick synopsis: for those who don’t know security units (SecUnits) in the Murderbot universe are half cloned human and half bot constructs that are rented out to clients as security guards. In this au, Security Puppet (or SecPup, if that isn’t too stupid?) is a SecUnit variant built by Henry to protect his daughter when kids mysteriously start going missing at the entertainment hub he runs with his business partner William (im thinking like a regular freddys but in a space mall kinda thing?) This is just a prototype, a new type of SecUnit that is specifically designed to watch over children. As Henry describes it: a SecPup will be a unique, fully customizable personal unit to any family, and because they are a construct with organic components they will be able to personally bond with your child. They are each specially crafted with the highest paternal instincts, strong enough to lift a vehicle and gentle enough to apply a bandaid to a scraped knee. Your unit will stop at nothing to protect its charge, because it will love them.
