reasons why charlotte wiltshire is a trans girl
Tumblr media
HI HI I KNOW I SOUND PRETTY DUMB BUT! have you ever thought of trans charlotte? i mean i’ll tell you why it’s super canon 😳
firstly, in hello charlotte episode 2, when vincent is bringing her with him to “ascend”, he tells her that he finds it strange how her puppeteer is male because usually girls are assigned either lilith or eve, but she has a seth. also, the other male puppeteer she could have is adam, who is said to be very masculine, so if she really is trans i doubt she’d have an adam, and it would be kind of dumb if her seth turned into a lilith if she transitioned, but maybe she didn’t even do so, so keep that in mind.
next up, in the scene where the bullies cut her hair, i feel like she has such a terrible panic attack is because her hair is one of her only symbols of femininity, especially if she didn’t transition yet. sure, even if she were cis, this would hurt quite a bit, but not this much. after the haircut aiden gave her, she said she looks like a stranger and doesn’t even recognize herself. image proof:

now, this may be a bit mean, but when we look at pictures of young charlotte, i feel like she looks a bit like a boy, short hair and all. image proof:

next, there’s a memory, called my first dress, in which a very sad looking, short haired and more masculine charlotte is looking at aiden’s dresses. charlotte herself, when talking about this memory, says this:

aiden asks if she would like to try one on because her eyes sparkle when she’s watching him make them, and she replies by saying that dresses are not for her. aiden replies by saying the following:

(sorry for the image flip!)
that’s the end of the memory. as far as i can tell, this is the time in which she’s confused and doesn’t know what she is anymore, boy or girl.
that concludes most of the theory. however, i’d like to point out that i feel like they use very gender-ey terms for her, like they often use (good/bad) girl, lady, etc and nothing neutral, if that makes sense. they just say it often, as if they’re trying to make it clear that she’s a girl.
that’s all i’ve collected so far. if you have any more proof or questions, feel free to reply/reblog! have a good day, and thank you for reading this!
