Magnanimous Maelstrom
78K posts
It's called the "Magnanimous Maelstrom"‚ does that sound like I'm even trying for a theme? Mostly reblogs, but I'll try for some OC once in a while. Also, chronic abuse of tags. (No, seriously when I can be bothered to even tag stuff it's the most useless tags imaginable.) --- But here are a few tags I do tend to use: --- #Hello Kitty Claymore Mine How I define cyberpunk. --- #This message will self-destruct in... Random stuff I found amusing. Ephemera I should erase sooner rather than later. (May contain cats.) --- #Novo Mundi An original setting. (Inspirational images pinboard.) --- #Glowing Sands An original setting. (Inspirational images pinboard.) --- #Space Clothes is for outfits which would be right at home in a science fiction setting --- #Capes is what it says on the tin, also Superhero formal wear. --- #THIS IS NOW A FOOD BLOG is for long meandering tales, there MAY be a recipe at the end. (Nah, mostly other people's food posts or funny and food related posts) --- #F3rrarius Blacksmithing and related cool bits of hot metal --- #Minus one billion dollar post Posts that explain how Tumblr managed to have their value drop a BILLION DOLLARS --- #Ship's Wizard An original setting. (Inspirational images pinboard.)

Here, a cheater course on caring for natural fibers!
1. Wool. Treat it like it has the delicate constitution of a Victorian lady and the conviction that baths are evil of a 17th century noble. (If I get in WATER my PORES will OPEN and I will CATCH ILL AND DIE.)
2. Cotton; easygoing. Will shrink a bit if washed and dried hot.
3. Silk; people think it’s like wool and has the constitution of a fashionably dying of consumption Victorian lady, but actually it’s quite tough. Can be washed in an ordinary washer, and either tumbled dry without heat or hung to dry.
4. Linen; it doesn’t give a shit. Beat the hell out of it. Historically was laundered by dousing it in lye and beating the shit out of it with wooden paddles, which only makes it look better. The masochist of the natural fiber world. Beat the fuck out of it linen doesn’t care. Considerably stronger than cotton. Linen sheet sets can last literal decades in more or less pristine shape because of that strength. The most likely natural fiber to own a ball gag.

These fellows look like gangsters, but they are actually factory workers. Taken on Astoria Boulevard, 1930s.

Remember when Bones figured out that Dr. Miranda Jones was blind way before anyone else, but kept it to himself until the knowledge was vital for the safety of the entire ship, because otherwise what a person chooses to share about her medical condition is her own business?
Because that’s the courtesy and respect we like to see.
