Heart Sutra ~ A sutra that describes “The Heart of the Perfection of Wisdom" (1) [So far]
The modern translation
While Avalokiteshvara practising the perfection of profound wisdom, they* saw that the five components (the five skandhas) of all beings are all ‘empty’, without inherent nature or substance, and therefore overcame all suffering and calamities.
(*There are no established theories on the origin or gender of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva.)
O Sariputra (Ref), what is form (colour: the body as matter) is not different from Emptiness, and Emptiness is not different from what is form. That which is form is Emptiness, and Emptiness is form. And perception (impression and sensation), thought (perception and representation), action (will and other mental actions), and sense (mind) are emptiness as well.
O Sariputra, since every being is characterised by Emptiness, it neither birth nor death, it neither defilement nor purity, it neither increases nor decreases. That is why, in Emptiness there is no physical body, no perception, no thought, no action, and consciousness.
There are also no laws for the objects of the sense organs, such as form, sound, smell, taste, touch and mental objects.
The eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body and mind do not exist. The objects of these sense organs - forms, sounds, smells, tastes and things that can be touched, as well as the Dharma as an object of the mind - also do not exist. There are no Eighteen Realms from the eyes as a category to consciousness. Eighteen Realms are the 18 elements of sensory awareness which are six roots, six borders, six consciousnesses (Ref2). There is no condition without wisdom, and there is no end to wisdom. There is no old age and death, and no end to ageing and death. There are no Four Noble Truths (Ref3): 'painful', 'cause', 'thirst' and 'cessation'. There is neither knowing nor gaining.
Precisely because there is nothing to gain, the bodhisattva relies on the perfection of wisdom, because there is nothing to obstruct the mind and precisely because there is no hindrance to the mind, there is no fear. Transcending false thoughts and dreams, they attain Nirvana. The Buddhas of the past, present and future also attain the supreme perfection of enlightenment because they rely on the perfection of wisdom.
That is why you should know. The Prajnaparamita (lit. Perfection of Wisdom) is the great mantra, the mantra of the great enlightened wisdom, the greatest mantra, the most wonderful mantra that has no comparison. It excludes all suffering completely, it is real and not vague.
That is why I shall here preach a mantra in praise of the Perfection of Wisdom.
O ye who go forth, ye who go forth, ye who go to the other shore, O enlightenment, be blessed.

Heart Sutra ~ A sutra that describes “The Heart of the Perfection of Wisdom" (1)
Intro
Towards the end of 2024, feels like things aren’t promising everywhere in the world. So, it’d be a good time to learn about the ‘Prajñā-pāramitā-hṛdaya-Sutra’ known as the ‘Heart Sutra’.
However, is the information and images we see the only reality? Is it not possible to change direction by tuning our frequency to the bright future that exists in the gaps between these bad situations?
Perhaps the recitation of the Heart Sutra contain a frequency that harmonises with tranquility of the universe in such a gap between them.
When an aircraft takes off, no matter how bad the weather is on the ground, the moment it reaches a certain altitude and breaks through the clouds, you will reach a peaceful sky. That's probably how it feels.
Let's take look at the ‘Heart Sutra’.
The Heart Sutra is a sutra that is said to contain all the teachings of Mahayana Buddhism, whose fundamental philosophy is to understand the principle of emptiness, in one short volume.
Prajna = wisdom
Paramita = perfection
Hrdaya = heart / essence
Sutra = scriptures
The meaning of the Prajnaparamita Hrdaya Sutra is that it is a scripture that describes the heart of the ‘perfection of wisdom’.

"Carry hope with you, ever."
Tumblr media
It's important to have strong aspirations for what you want to do with your life. Once you have set your aspirations, you must never back down from them. Do not be misled by the opinions of others or by temporary desires, but keep going with your aspirations.
People often say that one's aspirations should be high. There is no high or low ambition.
It doesn't matter what kind of aspiration you set.
What is important is to work towards it. That effort is the hope for the future. In other words, there are no higher or lower hopes and aspirations. They are not something that exists from the beginning, but something that you have to nurture and find for yourself.
On the other side of hope, there is despair. No matter how much we aspire, we can no longer even carry it out. But don't give up there.
Each one of us has tremendous potential.
Believe in that ability and move forward.
A person who laments the lack of hope is, in turn, a person who lacks confidence. It is a long life and confidence can be lost.
But whatever your circumstances, there is no such thing as a life without hope at all.
Because the very fact that you are there is already giving you hope to live.

"Shio-ume (塩梅 = Salt plum)"?
Deciding, after all this time, to read more novels to strengthen my Japanese and expand my vocabulary, I scoured the books I had always wanted to read, especially my late father's bookshelves. Naturally, all I found were classic Japanese literature dating back to the pre-Showa period and even centuries earlier.
Two words that have been on my mind recently are ‘Salt plum (塩梅)’.
‘What... suddenly the salt plum...?’
A large red pickled plum with salt gushing out on the surface comes to mind for a moment. However, when reading a novel, the flow of the story is more important, so I seldom stop at a single word, whatever the language.
‘Anbai (塩梅 = just right)’? is this kind of kanji characters. ‘Eh, eh.’
The word means ‘salt and plum vinegar’, and in the days when there was no vinegar, the ume vinegar produced when pickled plums were used to season food. The word was derived from the fact that the taste was ‘It's just right’.
However, this has been a challenge. The Japanese language is deep. Language is a useful tool for learning about a country's history and culture.
Anyway, I made and ate rice balls with salt plums with the seasonal new rice. Yum, Yum!
[Note: Umeboshi (salted ume-plums) are extremely sour and salty that will make saliva spread through your mouth with a sizzle if you are Japanese, just by reading the words or looking at the image.]

- Meaning of Sprit Animal, The Fish –
The fish spirit animal brings into your life all the power of the depths of the ocean. People with the fish spirit guide have great psychic powers and influences. The fish empowers you to manifest these powers. So you can dive deep into yourself.
The presence of fish in your life means salvation. You have the power to save yourself from the excesses that surround you.
When the fish spirit animal comes into your life, it bears a message of hope for your future. It comes to awaken your conscious mind to deal with the challenges in your life.
Enables quick decision making. And it urges you to stop dwelling on past mistakes. You need to let go and do what you have to do today for a better tomorrow.
The fish totem opens your eyes to the fact that you cannot change your past. You don’t need to live in guilt and regrets.
If you feel like your emotions are out of sync with nature, you need a fish spirit in your life. This totem brings you the power of emotional healing.
So, whenever you feel emotionally off course, think of the fish spirit guide. It will gently guide you through this rough time until to space where you find your balance.
Throughout the summer and autumn, the symbol of the fish kept appearing to me. I spotted at the fish's spirit guide. The world is confusing us in many ways. The fish are telling us that now is the time to believe in our own potential.
