Thinking now about how Lucanis excels in part because of things that Caterina never taught him. In fact, because of things Caterina probably tried to beat out of him. About how he makes friends in low places, and shows mercy, and how that helps him succeed multiple times in the Wigmaker Job. The woman who gives him access to the Aqueduct as a route into the party. The slave who cleans up the dead guards and hides his work. About his choice to avoid the easy, private kill in favor of giving horribly abused people a very public (and vastly more personally dangerous) revenge. And how that choice actually made him all the more valuable as an asset that inspires fear--and high fees.

He thinks Caterina and her calculated cruelty are what made him what he is. And no doubt the head of her cane helped him perfect his skills, and her cruelty taught him to endure privation and be patient on the job. But repeatedly, he succeeds because of his own kindness and his own insight into shared humanity.

i was thinking about this again yeah…😔its a shame there wasn't a scene right after the fade prison. because damn that could've hurt. so i did it myself. sorry i made it a bit different.

so, for murat it really was a couple of hours. and when he finally left the fade prison, he knew that his friends are scared af right now. so he tried to cheer them up by fooling around a bit. little did he know that it wasn't hours at all.

And speaking of pronouns, flat-out my favorite part of the LOTR Appendices is when it’s revealed that the Gondorian dialect of the Common Speech differentiates between formal and informal second-person pronouns but the distinction’s been lost in the Hobbit’s dialect, so Pippin’s blithely been using familiar terms of address with the Lord of the City, and thus helps to explain both why the Gondorians are so ready to assume he’s a prince and why Denethor finds him so amusing to have around.

The Shadow Dragons are everything to me. A bunch of trans, poor, and marginalized people effectively fighting fascism and mage supremacy??? A resistance group that actually incites change??? Direct fucking action?????

In my playthrough where I prioritized Treviso, it absolutely gutted me to see the Shadow Dragons’ hideout ransacked. Dragon Age wasn’t being subtle at all when they made fantasy nazis. At all.

And my personal bias is I’m trans and I live in like the second worst state, maybe even the worst, in all of the US as far as legislature and public opinion goes for us. My whole life is resistance. Every time I give my name at a coffee shop, show my driver’s license, walk into a public bathroom, meet somebody new, fill out any official paperwork, get pulled over, buy clothes—I’m putting myself at risk. Staying alive is resistance. If you know, you know.

When my silly little video game boy stepped into a room full of blood, all I could think about was what I’m fighting against every day. I thought about my friends, trans and otherwise at risk/actively being pursued. GOD DAMMIT DRAGON AGE I CAME HERE TO ESCAPE THE WORLD NOT LIVE IT AGAIN WITH DRAGONS

Anyways I’m tired of people ragging on me irl for not prioritizing Treviso in my first playthrough. I’m like. Look around you chief. In my fantasy escapism I’m gonna kiss the pretty lady and kill nazis like what do u want
