SG Trip Part 5 - Food For Thoughts and Singapore Art Museum 8Q
Sunday, my friends left back to Jakarta in 12 o’clock flight. So all morning they got up early to pack up whatever left behind. Rush rush all morning, we really felt too tired to get up actually.
10 am and we go downstairs to hail a cab.
I’m still staying until Tuesday morning. So, after they got into a cab and said goodbye (T_T), I continued my journey, travelling solo in SG.
I went to Bugis through MRT, since I have to catch up with may auntie. She got something for my mom. So, I went there and apparently I stopped in a wrong station. I should stop after Bugis, since it’s closer to where my auntie stays, Ibis Hotel.
Got there around 10.30ish, waited her for a couple of minutes since she went out to Bugis Junction to got some foods and things. Chit chat and again she has to leave around 12, she will get on the plane by 3 and she has to check out from the hotel at 12 as well.
So, another goodbye from people that I familiar with.
Continue on, I decided to visit my museum hopping but before that I should get something to eat.
I looking for somewhere close and found one good cafe which is near to the museum as well, called Food for Thoughts.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
photo from it’s website
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I ordered the Full Works and an Ice Latte since it’s very hot outside!
Tumblr media
And I have no idea how big it is for a single person. I can’t even finished it, but it’s very good and tasty, you should try to come here. Super recommended!
Oh yeah, it’s quite full as well considering it’s weekend and around lunch time, so expect to queue and I think this place is quite popular as well.
You can see their location here: http://www.foodforthought.com.sg
They also explain how you can get there whether by car or by MRT.
Apparently, after I sat down, I just realise that my first museum is just beside this cafe. Called The Singapore Art Museum.
SINGAPORE ART MUSEUM
They have two buildings, the main building and at 8Q (which located besides Food For Thought cafe).
Since at first I have no idea they have two buildings, so I went to the 8Q first.
You only have to pay SGD10 to enter both buildings. They will give you a sticker that you can paste in your clothes as an access to any of the gallery.
They have four floors, each floors contain 1-2 galleries from very different artists.
Oh yea, since my geekiness towards museum, so I can’t explain my feeling towards each piece of art. I just struck in awe!
Here are some photos from SAM 8Q:
Every floor has it’s own piece of art:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The image above created by Yuree Kensaku from Thailand, called Don’t They Know It’s the End of the Whale? From the series ‘Apex Predator’
Acrylic on wall with dimension of 371.5 x 458.4 cm
Stories:
In accordance with the grand design of nature, animals live and feed off one another in an endless cycle known as the food chain. By virtue of it’s intelligence, the human sits atop this hierarchy, but its excessive greed has also led to the exploitation of the oceans. Majestic creatures such as great white sharks and blue whales are often reduced to exotic dishes to satiate the appetites of the wealthy. In three spectacular (I don’t have the other one), artist Yuree Kensaku ponders the possibility of nature’s survival given mankind’s seemingly insatiable greed.
Tumblr media
At the first floor you can find a room full of fluffiness, the room made so comfortable so you can get inside (without your shoes) and play around even chill out in their wonderfully made scenery like you are inside the ocean. Media installation from yarn, cotton, felt, synthetic fur, vulcanised copper wire and dacron filling.
It called Where is Mogus? (Di mana Mogus?), which created by Mulyana from Indonesia. Stated on the art description:
The Mogus, an imaginary octopus monster, is artist Mulyana’s alter ego. Laboriously crocheted from yarn, Di mana Mogus? invites the young and young-at-heart to frolic amidst whimsical sea monsters set in a colourful dream seascape. Through this installation, Mulyana hopes to create an environment in which visitors can interact with Mogus and his underwater friends; his soft, tactile sculptures encourage play, imagination and exploration.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the second floor, you can watch in mini theatre called Moving Image Gallery. They have a bunch of short mini videos made from animations to stop motions to relay several different messages about the world, the oceans and people.
Tumblr media
Moving on to third floor:
Here’s a giant floating ball! you can push it and all the black dots is actually a chalk. Every it bumps or hit the ceiling, walls or floor, it will leave a mark like scratch line. So if you turn around 360 degrees you can see a lot of strokes, nicely done.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Created by Karina Smigla-Bobinski called ADA from Poland.
ADA is an interactive art-making machine, although she does not operate in the way we would normally imagine. A post-industrial “creature” that glows in the bioluminescence of denizens of the deep, ADA floats freely and is the sole light source in her confined space. While ADA requires animation from visitors, it quickly becomes clear that we hold little sway over her. A giant sphere with charcoal studs affixed to her surface, she moves through the room, making indelible marks along the walls, ceiling and floor of the gallery. These marks are only apparent when ADA moves near them, shedding light on and highlighting the consequences of visitor interactions and similarly, our relationship with the sea.
Still on the third floor:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Created by Krit Ngamsom from Thailand. Called Bryde’s Fountain (After Marchel Duchamp) and Surrealism Spiced (After Salvador Dali).
Krit Ngamsom’s kinetic sculptures are tongue-in-cheek references to iconic artworks that changed definitions and assumptions about art through their use of ready-made objects. These playful reinterpretations incorporate references to contemporary Thai cultures with commentary on Western art-making practices. The three artworks (one, I don’t have the documentation), in particular, pay homage to artists Marcel Duchamp, Damien Hirst and Salvador Dali. They have also been adapted especially for imaginarium, to explore issues concerning the oceans.
Last floor for SAM 8Q, there are two rooms:
First:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This room fills with all the plastic garbages from our household or potato chip bag or anything made from plastic which will end in the ocean after we dump it to our trash bins, which we don’t realise somehow it affect the creatures of the oceans. You can enter the room, as if you are the creatures of the ocean and you live with plastic surrounding you.
Created by Tan Zi Xi, called An Effort Most Futile and Plastic Ocean, from Singapore, she told us:
Garbage.. garbage galore! What happens when we heedlessly throw away that much garbage? 269,000 tons of plastic debris floats on the surface of our world’s oceans, creating hazardous living environments for marine life. In Plastic Ocean, artist Tan Zi Xi tackles the issue of pollution head-on with her recreation of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Comprising approximately 26,000 pieces of non-biodegradables, her installation invites viewers to experience the sensation of floating in a sea of trash. At the same time, the artwork embodies the wonders of recycling and repurposing, and the transformative power of art.
Second room (this is my favourite of all):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
youtube
Called Suara Muara (The Sounds of the Estuary) made by Papermoon Puppet Theatre from Indonesia.
Story tells about Lasem, a tiny town on the northern part of Java island, is where the Lasem River meets the Java Sea. Once an important port where vessels berthed to transport a bevy of treasures to places around the world. Lasem today is like a lonely old man, who keeps his secrets quietly. While fishermen tend their nets and children play around little wooden boats, once can still find ancient shards of Chinese porcelain buried beneath its sandy beaches. Suara Muara, or The Sounds of the Estuary, brings audiences on an aural journey, where the sounds of the past still exist, in unison with the lapping of the waves.
Me personally, love this art installation. There are around 4-5 different installation in this room, which each art installation, there is a headphone where you can use to hear as if you are in that area and feels the surrounding through the sound that you can hear through the headphone. It’s super cool! You can feel as if you are in the beach, in the edge of the ocean and feel that you are actually see the boats and children playing.
MOVING ON TO THE MAIN BUILDING.....
in the next post. :)

SG Trip Part 4 - Shopping Time!
Waiting for Uber to arrived is nonsense, we can’t even figure out the number the driver using. So, after tremendous effort, we cancelled it and V even uninstall her Uber app since she afraid that the driver will keep calling and charge her more and more.
Finally walking towards across the streets to Singapore Flyer area, we felt so hungry especially after several hours walk and several cups of coffee. When it’s raining and you are in the quite remote area, it’s really hard to find cab that available to take you.
Since V and S will go home in the next day, so we are running out of time to go shopping. HAHA!
Oh yea, we finally got a cab after 30 mins. It’s considered lucky in raining time. You will never find the cab that fast in Jakarta.
Back to Orchard area, we supposed to arrive at Takashimaya but the cab driver said it will get him in traffic area in this hour, can he drop us at Wisma Atria instead. So, we said sure. We have something to buy as well in Wisma Atria.
Since we have to go back to Marina Bay Sands before 8, we rushed everything out.
We stopped for lunch first at Wisma Atria’s food court. I just chose the easiest food, since so hungry!
Then we continued our journey, we went to Garrett Popcorn Stall, Tumi (to buy a present for S’ dad as a gift for Father’s Day), Bread Talk to buy that mini salted egg croissant, Watson for all the medicines that my parents ask me to buy, and several other places for gift shopping.
Back at the apartment around 6.30, we rest for a while, while S do her packing time. We thought we want to rest and went to MBS by 7.30, we rested too long. We rushed out and chased the train and we have to get there before 8, since the dome will close by 9.
Annnnd, we can’t make it. Unfortunately, the ticket sales to the flower dome closed by 8 and we arrived around 8.30. So, we then walked through the outdoor area and went to the inside of MBS to watched the water fountain show, which full of people and in the end we didn’t get a chance to watch it properly. So sad!
Went to Clark Quay to get another super late dinner. We arrived around 11 o’clock and we decided to eat at Hai Di Lao Hot Pot.
Tumblr media

It’s another new experiences for me. You will find this place interesting and unusual for Jakartans like me. So, when you arrived you have to take a number from the usher. It took around 1 hour for us to get our place available. Meanwhile, you can get unlimited supply of popcorn, baby tomato, oranges, prawn snacks, ice creams and tea (wintermelon or chinese tea). You can also play games or read magazines. So, you can be full even before you eat!
The floor where Hai Di Lao located is also a location of local bar/club. So you can hear the noise and being in the presence of Chinese restaurant, it’s kinda weird.
Finally, after we got our place. You will get an iPad which you can choose what you are want to eat. There’s many choices from vegetables to meat and several selections of broth. The tomato broth is very delicious, surprisingly.
If you cannot speak mandarin, please expect that you will be assumed that you can speak it fluently. Even though you are Western, Chinese or any other ethnic, the server will talk to you using Mandarin. But, they have the BEST service that I have ever encounter in my life.
The foods superb!
We ate until 2 o’clock in the morning and people still keep coming that time. I have no idea what they’re doing in sleeping time.
We went back to the apartment by taxi and arrived around 3 o’clock. Tired and full, ready to hit the bed since we have to wake up quite early so S and V can catch their flight on time.

SG Trip Part 3 - The Coffee Festival
Being pampered with car and all the easiness in Jakarta, my leg began to scream so hard until it can’t feel anything from the first time.
Three of us really love having public transport if we stay outside Indonesia. MRT and bus were very convenient for us, we were respected as pedestrian and always follow the regulation where we should cross the street.
But, that was the first time I used both of my legs to work out like hell. So, I need some adjustment to the way I live.
Today is the SG Coffee Festival Day.
We planned to wake up around 7 and in the end we woke up around 8, felt a bit exhausted we decided to got up from our bed and finally went to the bathroom and prepared ourselves.
We went to Whampoa Market to grab our breakfast.
We decided to go there by bus and arrive at Whampoa Makan Place. We just need to change once. You can actually know the route by searching it through Google. Easy as Pie.
Me and V ate the famous noodle called China Whampoa Home Made Noodle, only for SGD 3.00 and drink soy milk for SGD 1.00.
Tumblr media
We left the market around 10 and took the bus until the nearest MRT and went to the SG Coffee Festival. Stopped at Promenade Station, we walked for another 15 - 20 minutes to SG Pit Building (Near SG Flyer).
Tumblr media
Arrived at the location around 11.15 (the gate opens at 11.00), we were amazed by the crowd and didn’t expect that SG people enthusiasm about coffee is huge.
Tumblr media

If you see the second floor at the building behind the baloon, the queuing was divided in left and right side, so imagine you play snake in your old Nokia phone, we were queue like that. And that just half of you can see; inside, we have to do the same queuing. So, from we enter the building until we can exchange the ticket with the bracelet, it took around 30-45 minutes. Fortunately, the team was working very well and we find it comfortable, despite the hotness because it was outdoor.
We enter the gate around 12.00 and we received a nice goody bag with 1 demitasse cup and plate plus a chalkboard mug. Several flyers and booklet as well.
To enter, you must exchange your ticket with a bracelet like this:
Tumblr media
Orange means regular ticket.
So, after that you can enjoy several tenants from around SG and I really love the smell when I enter the room.
It was overcrowded, we almost gave up to go to entire levels.
First and Second level were all about coffee, from manual brew, cold brew, espresso based until capsule coffee. All machines, grinders, equipments, cups and other coffee accessories were available to see and purchase. You can have a conversation with the tenant’s owner as well. But, if you want to try the coffee, some required payments.
Third level, more into food stalls and non-coffee related beverages. Like juice, gelato, ice creams and other desserts. We didn’t spend much time in here, remembering the queuing was hell and we don’t have a day to spend only in this place.
Fourth level is lifestyle, or what so they call it. They are non-coffee and non-food beverage related. They sell clothes, pillow, accessories like wallet, bracelet, necklace and others. There are also some unique furnitures, dolls, paintings, pins and more. We also didn’t spend much time here, since we just skimming through all the tenants.
Oh before that, we lost V for a while. While on the third floor, she was talking to one tenant, so me and S decided to sit down at the edge of a stage. One moment there and suddenly she disappeared. We thought maybe she was still in this area but went around to see other things. Apparently, after we wait long enough we decided to search for her. Between three of us, she’s the one that we can’t contact since she has no wifi and her Indo number can’t be activated there.
So, we went through third and fourth floor and found her looking through some clothes. Haha!
In the end of our visit, V just bought a cup of cold brew and I bought one cup of Ice Latte from Chye Seng Huat Coffee Shop, which surprisingly and amazingly delicious! We surprised and tried to find out what beans they used.
Oh yeah! We also found one delicious snack. It’s a potato chip with salted egg, called The Golden Duck. SUPER DELICIOUS! I’m craving for it right now and unfortunately they can’t do international delivery.
Tumblr media
They used Throwback beans produced by Papa Phaletta.
Tumblr media
The Golden Duck Potato Crisps!
Tumblr media
It was 2.30 PM and apparently it was raining so hard. We went out through the same door as our entrance, there we heard that people can’t enter anymore if they have no tickets. Due to overcrowded, they stop on the spot ticket sales and decided to allow people who purchased the ticket.
We saw a lot of disappointment from people’s faces. We can’t walked to the MRT station since we didn’t bring any umbrella. Hard to hail a cab. Massive queue from the GRAB tent. So, we decided to use Uber.
Unfortunately we used V’s Indo number which can’t be contacted and we tried to phone the driver from S’ SG number. No hope.
While waiting, we decided to took off our bracelet. Only me and S that succeed. We still have one more unused bracelet from F’s ticket. I spotted two foreigners who really desperate to enter since they went back and forth to the entrance door and stayed quite a while to figure out how to enter the venue.
So, I decided to come to them and offered our bracelet. I said: “Do you need a bracelet to enter? (while show them my bracelet)”
They said: “Yeah, but we need two”
I said: “I have two”
They said: “Oh thank you, do you need some sort of money?”
I said: “No need, we just saw you that you can enter and we finished our visit already, we just came out from inside (giving them two of our bracelets)”
They said: “Really, thank you so much”
*felt an abundance of happiness*
Being helpful is enough, we don’t need any money in return and it doesn’t limited to where your hometown is. Kindness can applicable anywhere, anytime and to any person you encounter.
It’s a sort of happiness you can’t buy with money.

SG Trip Part 2 - The Arrival
Continuing my journey.
After running and fast-walking, I flew to Singapore safe and sound.
Once we arrived, we plan to take a cab to S’ apartment. Then, the queuing was stretched out almost in the middle of entire queue pole available. We went down to basement to chase the MRT and apparently the latest MRT to Orchard left 2 minutes ago.
Well, went back upstairs again and surprisingly the queue was done and we got the cab easily.
Arrived at the apartment at 12.30 ish, we rest a lil bit and ready to get super late dinner or should we called it breakfast?
We hail a cab easily in front of the apartment and arrived at Spize located in River Valley area. It was the first time I had a heavy meal at 1 o’clock in the morning. Ha! If my sister were there, I bet she will refuse to eat and lecture me on and on and on...
We shared the meal, ordered the Maggie Goreng Seafood for SGD 6.50 and Roti John Mutton Special for SGD 6.00 plus Ice Teh Tarek, Ice Kopi Tarek and Ice Syrup Limau with total of SGD 6.60.
Tumblr media
You can check all the menu and the location here: http://spize.sg/menu/
They open from 8 pm until morning. So, if you have midnight craving, this is the right place to visit.
From there, we spent like an hour and half and back to the apartment.
Sleep and recharge our energy for a long day ahead.

SG Trip part 1 - The Departure
It started couple month ago, around late March towards to early April.
I saw a post about SG Coffee Festival from IG and interested to attend, that is why I asked my other friends whether they would like to join the trip with me or not.
They said, yeah! let’s do the trip.
So. here we are planning to do SG trip. Me and my three other friends, just say V, F, and S.
Me, V and F bought the ticker earlier to get cheaper price. However, since I will stay longer than them, I bought a return trip ticket. I was using Tiger Airlines and Air Asia to bound back home.
V and F just bought one-way trip to SG first and bought the one-way to JKT later after S decided when she would like to buy the ticket, so they can go home together.
Long story short, S bought the ticket already and issued the ticket for her along with V and F. They were using Lion Air.
One week to do the trip together. We do this trip to celebrate our last togetherness as a single before F get married on September (besides the Coffee Festival).
D-1 before we go, F suddenly realised that her passport was not in her home and remembered that she submitted to the tour arranger for her trip to China on July.
She tried to call the tour people and they said if she would like to get her passport back, the other 7 passports have to be brought as well from the embassy.
She kept trying.
Later on that evening, her mom tried to call the Embassy of China and they said she can actually get her passport from the embassy by bringing her ticket for the SG trip.
It was late.
The embassy closed already.
So, we figured we can try the next day. On Friday, on our trip day. We will fly on night flight, so we still have around 8 hours of hope.
Being so positive and optimistic, her fiancé said that on Friday the China Embassy will be closed due to their public holiday, the Dragon Festival if I’m not mistaken.
We still have our hope and we said to her to try to phone the embassy tomorrow morning.
On Friday.
8 a.m. in the morning. No news.
9, 10, 11. She said she can’t do the trip.
The embassy was hopeless.
We have to let the trip go without her. It’s so sad.
04:00 PM, I went to pick up V at her home and head to airport to avoid traffic jam. Since it’s fasting period, we really want to avoid the traffic near break fasting time.
Arrived at the airport around 5.30, we still have plenty of time.
Check in, Immigration and we stayed at Starbucks until our flight at 07:50 PM.
07:20 PM, we went to last X-ray check before boarding to the plane.
Then the officer said to me: ‘the name on the ticket is different with the passport’
I shocked and doubled check.
The check-in officer print the ticket under my friend’s name, F.
I ran way back to the check-in counter.
I did my night exercise.
Once I was there, no more Tiger Air counter on board.
Luckily, I stopped at the counter that I did the check-in earlier and asked.
Apparently, he already prepared to go back to his back-office since the check-in time has passed.
I said to him, how come they got my name wrong and didn’t check (plus I did the immigration as well, maybe they didn’t check my ticket).
Walking very fast towards the boarding gate, I lost my friend, V.
I phoned her and she actually waited for me at the immigration counter.
Head back again to the immigration counter to catch her up and we met in the middle.
Exhausted and full of sweat, I never imagined my trip started with rush.
Boarding on the plane and landed safely at Singapore.
*next story at Singapore*

Modernisation and Globalisation, is that a word that you used to describe something advance in business or political way?
If that a yes, I bet your teacher said it would be something positive and good to learn.
The way I saw it is from the other side of the moon, the negative way.
People sold their soul and body just to cope with current world’s cruelty.
The world demands so many things from us
Our time, our energy and our love
People out there who does not have money, has to deal with demon that hide among friends, families, neighbourhood and all the things that seems familiar
Some of them might chose another path rather than sell her/his body to be watched by all the jerks that pays money only to hallucinates about sex and different types of pleasures
Is that what they want? Might be, but some of them might not have any other choice
They don’t know what to do, they have no weapons to defend themselves and they have no skills to fight. What they can do?
Nothing, other than being slave
Do they have choice? Yes, they do
But their choices pushed away by the condition that bounds them like a chain and locked behind bars. Other than fed by the guards and wait their punishment to be over, either release or death that will pick them up
On the other magnet, there are some people that abusing their power and privilege. They have everything, friends, families, money, power, knowledge, education and stuffs. The question is, how many of them have heart?
It slit my heart to see women, dancing naked to please all men’s unstoppable desires. Lust that makes them blind and close their heart in a box which the key is nowhere to be found.
It slit my heart to see kids, injecting all the alien substances and breathing all the chemical which lead them to someone that will knock our door in the end, but not this soon, hi angel of death.
It slit my heart to see men, working their ass off and eating their ego deep down just to please their somewhat ‘beloved’ boss, so their wives and their kids can eat a grain of rice every day, to survive the tough of life.
Balance of the world? Nah~ It never existed since the mens came to the earth and made their sins.
Hurts came when young people can’t fulfil their dreams because of the government bureaucracy, limited education or the scarce of financial resources.
They should be free to do whatever their dreamed of. The positive one of course.
Can’t believe the hard of finding jobs, the eagerness to please their parents and the burden to make someone’s happy
Life, as tough as it can be.
Always coming back at you.

WHO AM I?
Sometimes, I feel like I just don’t belong in this world just because I feel I don’t have any connection with any of my friends.
I feel fake and I feel them fake too.
They might don’t like me but pretend in front of me that they care about me and keep up with me just for the sake of friendship.
As I narrow it down, I just have several communities in my surrounding. My high school friends (only 2 of them are quite close to me), my undergraduate friends (only 2 as well are considered the closest one), church friends (still have no idea who they are inside), others like I know from my friends (maybe just one). The other just merely friends and barely know them.
I’m actually having a identity crisis. I have no idea who I am and I can easily impersonate people who I admire and one of my closest friends asked me: “I think you’re really becoming her (my mentor who I admired), aren’t you?”
That question actually hit me quite hard that I still remember it until now, even though it was like 8-9 years ago?
I don’t know who I am.
I want to become someone that actually accepted to each of my community which I mentioned above. But then, it makes me to have such different personalities over times means I don’t know the real me and I can’t be the real me.
I have to become a strong person in front of my families, since most of them think they are the most stressful one and they need attention. Well, I do too.
I have to become a courages person and somewhat a great leader in front of my church friend, so they think I’m the one and I’m good.
I have to become very pleasant and accept every single thought that my friends has just to be accepted in their what so called friendship.
I have no idea which one is pure and which one is not.
I just feel so distant and I don’t know what to do.
I like to be praised, maybe it’s because I have never receive any single compliment from my parents, therefore I worked so hard to be good and perfect in front of other people’s eyes. Which in the end they will say: “wow, this girl is so good and she can solve anything”
But, I think it will not come to an end if I keep this kind of behaviour.
I want to change, but again for a million times I don’t know what to do.
I’m trying so hard to try to open up every single time I got a chance to share my life in my regular church discussion every Friday.
That’s actually my start.
I’m trying so hard to open up and be truthful to myself about my addiction - being praised by others.
Well, I have no idea whether it’s an addiction or not. But what I know is that is actually a bad thing to keep.
I just hope I will stop care about what other people think of me and just being myself.
It’s not easy, but I will try.
But the question is: “Who am I?”
“Who is the true me, so I can be myself?”

He Forces Us On, The Perfect Planner
Suddenly, it came to my mind this morning that actually people are mysterious creature. Most of the times, we think that God is mysterious but what I see is the other way around. God is certain, He has His own way on His own time. He knows what to do for His creation. He is a perfect planner and He is the perfect One.
We are as human, is mysterious. We never know whatever other people think inside their brain (well, I don’t really believe in mind reading or psychic thingy).
Every single day, there will be more than two times I have to switched off my sister’s room light. Well, it’s not because she can’t do it, it’s just because of her habit. I sleep with my sister in one room and her room used by my grandma. So, most of her things still in that room, such as cloths.
After she took any of her cloth, she just walks away from that room and goes to my room without switching off the light. I told her several time to switch off the light to preserve the energy (we have to start something small, right?).
But again, every single time she just walks off and always forget to switchs off the light. And I have to do it every single time. The same case happens with my mom.
I used to get angry to both of them, simply just because they keep forgetting a simple thing. But then I realised, each of us is a different person (from then, I always switch off the light whenever I see it’s still on.
We used to be the same (every single one of us), when we were born, we were a perfect human being. No clue what this world would be and no idea why I have to be born in this surrounding. Along the way, as we grow, we also become further from what we called perfection. We surrounded by a lot of things. Our brain washed by culture, tradition, friends, perspective (good one or bad one), families, teachers, school, education, religion, television, books, internet, and many other things you name it.
We all have great differences, even twins can have different interest. And it’s good.
Some people love books, other love movies.
Some prefer to read, other prefer to listen.
One loves sweets, the other loves bitter
If you spread a deck of cards and give it to several people and ask them to collect it, there are so many probabilities how they will arrange it:
1. from the lowest number to Ace
2. from the highest number (King) to 2 then Ace
3. separate between Spade, Hearts, Diamond or Clover
4. randomly as long as it’s neat
5. and many more...
By simply a deck of cards, we already have 4 different people. Why they arrange it that way? No idea! Psychology mostly will be the answer.
God is so great that He can create over 7 billion people in this world with such a differences. It’s just can’t be explain by words, but I do believe when God put His heart on every single one of us, He meant something over our existence in this world.
Some will become a sower and some will become a reaper.
And His plan will never goes into waste because He is a perfect planner after all.
Every one of us, for sure, made mistakes. But what I do believe is we are created for some reasons and purposes. Some of them already understand, some of them still searching. Some of them still lost, some of them are in the state of pursuing it and some of them helping other to find the real one.
We have value that God put in each one of us. We are no less than the others since every single person has the same opportunity to become someone. If not for others, for ourselves. We are not a discounted things, we are not for sale. We have to value ourselves higher that other people think who we are in their eyes. We are the perfect creation that God has ever made, since He really care to every inch of our body. He really put His time to created us.
We have to be brave to acknowledge ourselves and have the right identity that God put inside us. We are His children and a child is a precious treasure in His father’s heart. He will take care of us and He will be there when we fell off the cliff and help us to rise again from the darkness.
Currently, I’m in the state of horrified of my future. I resigned from my job and decided to pursue my dream. I have no job for 3 months already and I still have no idea whether this is the right decision for my future or not. I have also no idea if I ever want to go back to work for other people, what industries should I enter and what kind of job I should go.
I should be able to provide for my families already in my current age. Still, I ask my mom and my dad for my living and I can’t give them anything currently since I have to use most of my savings to invest on a business that I’m currently building with my other two partners.
There are so many uncertainties that playing on my mind. I have no job means I have no stable monthly income. How if my business didn’t run and in the end we have to face any failure? How much money that we have lost and how long I have waisted my time? What should I do then?
I’m scared and I have no super power to see what will be my future.
But then, that’s when faith comes and ease you in the heart.
I always hypnotised myself and say everything will be alright, every single thing will be fine. All of the money that I need will come in the end and I have to do it now, otherwise it will never happen.
Again, fear will always comes like a nightmare. You will never know when it will comes to you and you have to be prepared. Other you wake up or you stay and always running from the ghosts that chasing you after.
I have no idea as well is it the dream that I always wanted, or is it just my desire.
But one thing that I know for sure, If I ever went to the wrong path. My God will drag me and push me to the right track. Maybe it will take a longer time and further way, but I will know for sure that I will arrive in His destined place someday.
"Never stop having doubts. If you ever do, it will be because you've stopped moving forward, and at that point, God will step in and pull the rug out under your feet, because that is His way of controlling His chosen ones, by making sure they always follow their appointed path to the end. If, for any reason, we stop, whether out of complacency, laziness, or out of a mistaken belief that we know enough, He forces us on." Paulo Coelho - Brida

it’s been a long time since I wrote things. I know that my grammar is not that good. I still have mistakes here and there, but pardon me writing in English is so much better. It’s not that I don’t love my native language or my country, it’s just I like to express things better in English.
It was yesterday, I went only for 2 hours with my friends. Well, I can’t say they are my bestest friends, but yeah we’re close if you compare to the others. Time indeed goes so fast, we met yesterday because one of them will give me his wedding invitation! HIS WEDDING INVITATION! We might not talked much, but with those short time and with those short conversation, we know that we all lived very well and we are still friends. :)

I can’t believe that he’s the one who will be married first compare to the other in the groups. Oh yeah, we are so called the “Korean” group, we went to South Korea for Summer School back then in 2010 (yep, it’s been 5 years already, that’s why I said time FLIES so FAST). Among 9 of us (including me), there were 4 men and 5 girls. Two of them are my best friends and the rest are new acquaintance whom we just met during the orientation day.

Shorten the story, one of them is now pursuing higher degree in Australia. Another girl, worked for one of the largest tobacco company and currently in Makassar. The married guy lives in Jakarta and worked for start up company (which I tried to join last Feb, but because some reasons I rejected the offer). The other guy opened his jeans company but then went missing and we never got in touch again with him since then. The other guy lives in Jakarta as well but he’s such a traveler and we never met each other as well for a long time, but at least we still know his whereabouts. The last one left and lived in Semarang, because he has to follow his mom’s will who already passed away few years ago, but his a boss now. He has his own company (well, it’s kind franchise company) and dated college girl who just enter her first semester. Good for both of them.
I don’t know actually why I’m writing this, I just want to express something that I can’t express to anyone else since I think sometimes you can’t tell anything that happens inside you to any single person in your life. I just feel so grateful that God allows me to meet them in my life. It was so precious that I can’t say it in words, the way I feel.
5 years of friendship are never been easy, we sometimes talks behind our backs and gossiping each other, but hey that’s life and to make it wonderful we have to have black keys to make good music.
Sometimes, people cannot really listen stories you tell them because they are so overwhelmed with whatever they have in their life, either it’s a good one or a bad one. Either in struggle or in happiness. They are so content with those and rarely open themselves to listen what other people stories which I think it’s so amazing and amusing.
People are somewhat same and different at the same time. If you think, we have the same physical conditions but each of them has their own personal stories. Even twins will not be the same with whatever they feel or see or touch. Each person has their own perspective to see the good things in life, and we have to be grateful with those uniqueness.
I know that there’s no link of two stories that I wrote above, but for me personally, there’s a beautiful link. I feel so grateful to have them in my life, but I can’t tell any of it to my friends because they will just think (well I assume from my past experiences) it’s just an ordinary feeling or they used to those kind of stories. But for me it’s indeed a special moment, because they are part of my life for 5 years.
5 years if you think it’s not a short period of time, it’s 60 months.. 1,825 days.. 109,500 hours.. 6,570,000 minutes.. 394,200,000 seconds have passed.
And we’re still together, enjoying life
Plus, I’m learning to listen to people’s life stories and open my mind to their opinion in life. Just try once, you can see how great is our God. :)
